my apologies for the music volume, i seem to have messed up the audio balancing...
Based
Do not worry. In my opinion, this is balance. In most other videos of a gameplay, the in game music is so turned down that there would be no difference if it would go on mute
before the civil war, you should train just one cav unit in que, since you do not lose it when the war starts, then drop it to take the victory points. Newer players may not be as quick to take the victory points as you were.
Dont worry i very much enjoyed the video
شكرا على الترجمة العربية🙂👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
These strategies are so counter-intuitive: "first I'm going to disband the army and air force and next I'm going to start a civil war!"
If we don't know what we are doing, the enemy will never figure it out either

Thanks! I love that you enjoyed it!

I was there, in the discord 3000 years ago when bitter had to restart dozens of times. Great video keep it up love the vid :)
Finally someone did a Czech achievement guide. Great guides as always bitt3rsteel!
BitterSteel you’re literally the GOAT, such easy guides to follow along but still free hand some of it on your own.
My guy
Nice guide, thanks! Couple of quick notes I noticed durig my run:
1. Wait a few days after you have enough PP to justify on Yugo, in one of my runs the war goal expired 4 days before Trust in the West was finished, had to restart. Basically, the focus will end on July 14, 1937, so make sure your war goal will be valid through that date when you justify.
2. Make sure you garrison Tyrol when the Germans come for you. Bitter didn't and for some reason they left it alone, but in my game they took it and not controlling Tyrol prevents you from restoring Austria-Hungary. Couple of sad runs lol, but I'll get there!
This is an excellent video, one of your best! Why do I like it? It takes a hidden gem of a country (many people overlook the czechs) and you do some awesome stuff with them. The achievements even come below secondary for me here. I really think you should try this more often: take a little used country and turn it into a beast!
One small point of criticism: I believe you are too focused on the 40 width templates. You see in this game you delay yourself unnecessarily by waiting for your 14/4 to fill up, while the Axis is pounded on from all sides already. In those situations you can suffice with 20 width templates.
Haha, thanks! I blame my OCD...must...have...thicc boys

yay czechoslovakia, greetings from slovakia 🇨🇿 🇸🇰
Oh Ya! I'm your Czech friend!🇨🇿
Greetings from Czech republic.

Not seeing a field marshal in your army high command gives me big nostalgia
I am trying out this guide right now and I am pleasantly surprised at how much fun this is.
Btw they have fixed the "Join Comintern" focus; you can now join the soviet union and it will bypass the focus and allow you to go on.
This one still works after 2 years, well done!
I cant believe this guy has only 26k subs. I follow almost all the hoi4 content creators and by far bitt3rsteel is best. End of every video I left satisfied. Which is the goal of youtube. Keep up man.
done thanks to you. Had a strike when stability was around 49%. I thought i am done but restoring empire afterwards was too strong.
Thanks man, I appreciate the good vibes!
It’s always the best that aren’t known, it’s quite sad but sometimes that fame can corrupt the great youtubers they once were. Anyways he will keep up the good work i know it
Amazing video! Thanks for sharing your strategy
since NSB released, Czechoslovakia gets renames to Czechia whenever it doesn't own Slovakia, so during the civil war you become the Czech peoples republic. but it seems there is no mechanic to change the name back to Czechoslovakia when you own Slovakia again so your stuck as Czech peoples republic.
Someone at paradox should Czech that out
do you retain the cores on Slovakia though?
This was a nice easy one after I failed miserably at Carlist Spain. Thanks!
Man, you're underrated.
Lets get this man to 1M Subs !
Another Strat when dealing with the axis, don't take zara but kill all the units there again *DO NOT TAKE ZARA* just make sure to not let your units fullfill the "movement arrow" and the italians will keep stationing units in zara so you can farm them for casualties.
Months of asking finally come to an end the Czech mate guide is finally out!
I'm so happy! Thanks so much for listening to me! :D

During my run I kept 2 light tank divisions for its speed and armour, it is very useful at the initial stage at Yugoslavia and rushing Romania after Yugoslavia capitulate. No production is needed as you have some left behind at the start, just delete them after you have done with Hungary.
thank you dude good guide 👍
Glad it helped
As a Czech, I freaking love this! ♥️ I love all your work ofc
You can also do The Munich Disagreement with paratroopers, but that's no fun. Good video as always!
The subtitles read Bratislava as “brought this lava” ,made me chuckle
Great video! I'm actually trying playing as you (except for one thing: I go right, no left, as I'd like to fight with Germany against USSR later) and get mostly everything done. High PP, high stability, WS around 50 %, 32 4-3-3 infantry divisions - 8 of them sitting on mutual border in Carpathia; and support artillery + aircraft, but Romania seems unbeatable to me. Austria gives me no troubles, always smash them hard. Yugoslavia is a little bit more harder, but in the end I push through Ljubljana and around Zagreb, which means end for Yugoslavs. However, after yugoslavian capitulation and re-moving my troops to romanian border, Romanians are already there with pretty big army (doesn't matter that they lost pretty big numbers in wave-attacking my carpathian forts) and my army isn't able to push through borders and to Bucharest. i think about one thing, which can make a difference: when you go left, you are invited into commitern, USSR is your ally, so Romanians need to keep troops on soviet border. However, when you go right, your relations with USSR are bad, so Romanians don't have to keep a significant number of divisions on soviet border, therefore their divisions are free to fight my southern army. Hopefully I'll figure it out, because I want to try fighting with Soviets as Bohemian Empire (or Austria-Hungary?) alongside with Germans and Axis.
Hardly Anything Sevres, please. I can't imagine even trying that without your guidance lol
Incredibly great :-)
Please do a guide for Ireland. Take the lands of all the six Celtic nations, so this will include taking out UK and France. Bonus points to take Galicia in Spain, they are sometimes considered Celtic.
Sadly ireland doesnt have much depth besides some decisions from the UK, some political advisors, and a single general
They start out with no air, sea, tank, or industrial research.
Ireland has a decent amount of civs(for a minor), but a pathetic manpower and military industry.
They start with core on northern ireland but sadly the uk gets cores on northern ireland meaning you cant start resistance there
Also ireland doesnt have any formable nations (to my knowledge)
This is coming from the guy who plays ireland pretty much every MP game
I do have a strat for ireland but it isnt going to get you northern ireland or anything
* *Laughs in Germanic superiority* *
You should reduce the music a bit. I was barely hearing you talk.
Ah, darn. Thank you for the feedback
@@Bitt3rSteel Nah, it was not that bad. EDIT: OK, it got pretty bad at the end.
I like it this way myself. The music is part of the ambiance, complemented by commentary. :D
My wargoal expired 2 days before rrust in the west finished
Bruh Now the UK guarantees Yoguslavia, I give up
That’s funny I was just doing this one! Anyways for me when I join the Comintern it bypasses the focus for me!
Huh,that's good to know. It kept bugging out for me
Even though I've done this achievment before, I'll try to repeat the same run :D
Guide still works for NSB. Things to note (based on my run):
1) You have to wait about 20 days or so to start the support communism focus due to reduced communist support after the civil war, so trust in the west is delayed to around the 20th of July. Make sure you delay accordingly before you start your justification on Yugoslavia or it'll expire before the focus is done, bricking your run;
2) If you lose Innsbruck while taking out Hungary you can't form Austria-Hungary until you get it back, which will strain your manpower severely (and cause you to lose more states along the Dalmatian coast since your divs become weaker). Soviets will refuse to push unless you activate your orders, so a good compromise is setting your army to cautious and activating so soviets do most of the work up north;
3) There's a chance Poland joins the Comintern after Danzig or War, which delays allied involvement but widens the Axis front, so whether that helps or not I'm not too sure. Allies will get involved sooner or later and France will probably solo Italy through the Alps, so just sit tight if you're struggling down south;
4) Bulgaria might also feel too intimidated to join the war and stay out of it entirely. This is bad but not enough to brick your run. They'll justify on mini-Romania later on and get themselves at war with the Allies, which will puppet them, opening a new front against you. Greece is likely to join the Comintern when attacked by Italy and they can generally solo Allied Bulgaria, but you'll have to babysit their ports later;
5) I misclicked and had Kosovo join the war, so when Zog folded to Italy I had to rush an army there and ended up encircling some Italian troops as they landed. Albania later on allowed me to encircle and delete about two allied armies, so it wasn't all bad, but try not to do that :^)
6) IMPORTANT: Soviet Union and the Allies will go to war over Iran around mid '41. Don't join unless you feel you have to. Soviets will lose some territory before the front stabilizes, but they should hold after. They'll face some naval invasions in the Baltic and Mediterranean, so just prepare and train more troops until you feel confident enough to join.
Also, I have found that if you wait too long to declare on Yugoslavia, Britain will come in and guarantee them, which will brick your run. Also, supply does not reach the Romanian border for your defensive line, so it is best to build your forts back one tile in the north to stay in supply range. I have tried this about 7 times in the past 48 hours and i keep missing it barely, either by taking too long to declare on yugoslavia (happened twice), messing up focus order on accident (Romania didn't come to war to back Yugo. Don't think i removed my guarantee of Romania that run) and didn't know about the supply thing and Romania broke through a 12 stack army by continously attacking, forcing them aside and then just invading my homeland while i tried to push through Yugo. Fun stuff ....
@@kylematteson3509 As long as you motorize the hub in Slovakia, only the easternmost tile will have bad supply, but it shouldn't be enough to suffer a breakthrough if you continuously cycle troops with the guys on the adjacent tile. Building the forts one tile back is of course fine as well. You should get the Romanian guarantee removed via focus on the 20/21st of July, so time your justification to be ready by then so you don't waste time declaring the war. And yeah about focus order, this run requires a rather specific early game you can't really stray from. Also, it might be in your best interest to build some quick railroads as you push into northern Yugoslavia so you can link the Istrian hub to your network.
@@fre3951 the railroad idea is a great one. Thank you. And I just am not the best at two front micro so that northern cycling is rough when yugo is so hard to push into as it is. What combat width you been using? I’ve been messing with 15 and 17 and can’t figure out which I like.
@@kylematteson3509 IIRC doesn't Czechoslovakia start with 18w? I think that's what I used, I just run default 18w infantry bricks most of the time, adding support as it becomes available/feasible. You can add one line arty later and run a 9/1 div, which is a decent SP template that still runs fairly cheap. Turn the speed down for ease of micro, since it's a war that requires a decent bit of attention.
@@fre3951 alright. I’ve been looking at penalties and 18-20 get some pretty bad ones. Balkans are best at 15 I think I saw, but I just felt they had too little weight behind it
Completing the entire game without Field Marshal is an achievement on itself...
Yes! Yes! Finally love for my country!
Also, wow, Google Assistant is so adept at deciphering music that it correctly identified the piece Kriegsgewitter (HoI3, by Paradox) despite you talking over the music in the clip I played it.

Aw Bitter, you rock.
Have you considered some MP guides, regarding templates or basically anything, that is much more challenging than beating up AI?
man this is hard! :D tried to take over austria and after i did i had to immediately go at it with yugoslavia and they broke through to the north while i went around hungary to south and it took me a year to get control of that situation German plague ate me in under a month :D
Thank you for playing my country
You have said "worst case sencerio", more in this video than all your other videos I seen
My war goal in yugo expired the day before the trust in the west focus completed lmfao☠️
Sadly, I already have this achievement. Will I watch the video anyway? Yup.
Damn bittersteel ur good and i love that youre also active in your discord server, most creators just dont care
At least this method of forming the AH doesn't rely on RNGesus
The fleet collector.
I only put two cavalry on the border with Romania and they tore through me. I should've joined the comintern, put 5 cavs and build a fort in each province. I'll try again right now
i do not know how you dont have as much subs as taureor
5 months later, I use a slightly different strat, but Romania never honors their garuntees for me.
29:02 if that is your worst scenario then at me the germans already did the sudetenland focus in 29 June 1938!
so can u help me pls

That's...weird. Germany follows a predetermined path to Sudetenland
Could you do a guide on forming Austria-Hungary as Austria?
You could use paratroopers for Austria and Yugoslavia!
Alright, for anyone who may see this, roll your game back to 1.10.5 Collie (Old). You'll be able to follow this guide without issue. I just got the achievements myself.

Why are your views low? Horribly underrated
I want you to do the Turan Empire (with Turkey) or the Macedonian Empire please!

Now do it with all the extra supply mechanics bolted on. That will surely make it more anoying than fun.
I managed to get this finally. Well, the Munich Disagreement. I can't justify on Japan because they got a non-aggression pact with the Soviets. I can't see anywhere else to naval invade either Japan or Australia for the achievement.
I love how he read "Brno" as "Bruno"

I tried to do this before watching the video in such a dumb way and I literally couldn't get to Australia because I had 0 convoys and no coastline
He said Canberra right. Its a miracle
Czech Mate ..... hoi4 is coming us with the jokes
So, I tried one cool method, that you play as Germany and you speedrun the territorial tree (Anschluss, Sudetenland, Vienna award, Fate of Czechoslovakia) and you take it as a whole, then you delete German army, get it into large equipment deficit by disabling all of its industry and delete all the troops, then just release Czechoslovakia, but choose the "play as" option. As Czechoslovakia, you can just make the Entente and ally Yugoslavia and Romania.
Puppet/annex Hungary and Bulgaria. Now, just wait until Italy attacks Yugoslavia (at that time, Germany should be at war with allies and soon attack the Netherland, which will push them because of the British.) and you should be able to get into Munich in time. I recommend using paratroopers because Germany will rebuild and it won't be easy too. Allies should get enough air superiority in the region. + there is a small chance that USSR will invade Poland before Germany does, in that case, just redo.
Please, if you try this, give me feedback, i want to know if it worked for you.
I would like to see if it is possible to conquer Africa as Ethiopia. I think this could become a challenge :)

Funny enough my first run is exactly the "worse case sinario"
Czech letter pronunciation. We have basically no exceptions (no hard C or soft C etc). We have no silent letters and we spell phonetically.
A = ah (android)
Á = aah (aardvark)
C = ts/tz (tzar)
Č = ch (Chechnya)
Ď = soft D (Dyatlov)
E = eh (Enigma)
Ě = ye (Yevgen)
É = long e, kinda like ae but with no a sound (we still spell ae as ae). Aeronautics is a good example.
G = Never a soft G (as in Georgia), always hard G (as in Gangster)
Ch = kh (Charisma)
I = always like in India, Igor or Ian. Never like in I or science.
Í = ee (spleen)
J = y (yes), Loanwords can use it however (e.g. we still pronounce jeep as jeep not as yeep)
Ň = like Spanish ñ, the kind of ni sound in onion
O = always pronounced the same as oh. This will be confusing for foreigners but we do say o'o (as in zoo) and never do an oo sound (except for loanwords). Example would be orgasm or every o in onomatopoeia.
Ó = long o, like in oar
R = always rolled, never silenced. Very pronounced, but not like French do it (you'd have a speech impediment if you'd use French R here). Error is a decent example (if enunciated correctly and not as "eahuh")
Ř = I have no clue where to rven start with this. Our very rolled and pronounced R plus Zh sound mixed into one. Even our children have issues learning it. Even Slovakians struggle with it. Poles have similar sound (Rz). There's no english equivalent to the sound.
Š = sh (Shelby)
Ť = Ti (Tiananmen)
U = like in put, never like in cut
Ú/Ů = same sound, the only difference is when the letter us used. Generally Ú is always used when at the start of a word and Ů when anywhere else in the word. But there are of course some rare esoteric exceptions (I think like 3 or 4 words that are loanwords from French use ú in the middle). Oo sound (Zoo, Do)
V/W = same sound. We do not differentiate between the two and only use W for loanwords. It's the V sound as in Valium. Never a W sound like in War.
X = always "eks", never a Z or Zh etc sound. Like in expatriate or expensive. If the word starts with X (Xylophone) it's a "ks" sound.
Y = same rules as I, we have extensive grammar rules for when to use I or Y (not gonna bother you with that since that would be entry lesson to Czech Grammar) but the pronunciation is pretty much always the same. Yvonne is a good example.
Z = always the hard S sound/Zet sound, never a Zee sound. Like in Zanzibar.
Ž = zh (Zhukov)
you forgot F my friend, very nice though! My father is Slovak and I am trying to learn the language, this helps! If I'm not mistaken F is pronounced like (Fuh) right?
@@Thejerusalemhascome Thank you. I do not really consider F to be pronounced differently, there aren't any instances I can think of in English where F does not sound like F.
And if you want to do the alphabeth, both "ef" and "fuh" are acceptable. But for example there's no difference between pronouncing f in english "factor" and czech "faktor". Efektivní vs Efficient also has the same F sound and so on. I really can't think of an example in English where F does not sound the same as our F. Hence why I skipped M, N etc.
@@VanBourner ah I see, thanks!
my playthrough seems to have turned into a disaster. Germany didn't declare war on Poland for whatever reason and I couldn't declare war on bulgaria because both Uk and france guaranteed them. (bulgaria didnt join the axis either lol)
For some reason Germany decided to declare war on luxembourg but that's it.
This would be a good moment for Order 66, because the city is not on the coast, and securing a a strong navy is hard.
Also, Can you do my ships don't lie?
It's actually really easy to secure a good navy. If Italy doesn't manage to lose theirs at least

Hungary: this is fine
Great video. In trying to duplicate your success I found that I don't have the same National Focus trees that you do. Mine is Political Effort rather than political direction, and doesn't allow me to change governments until 1940. Do you know why this is?
Doyou own Death or Dishonor? The focus tree is part of that DLV
following your guides in "no step back" is hard.... some researches take longer, the change in politcal % takes longer, problems with supply etc .... thinking to just remove the dlc till i have all the old achievements. I got the Munich diktat already on 29. June of 38 ...Hungary flipped couple days after and immediately joined axis (but did not join war) and Bulgaria joined soon after. And i have no troops on either border yet .
well my justification ended on the 10th of July and Focus ends on the 14th... another restart :/
Im having problems. Romania isnt declaring war when I attack yug. Ive tried multiple runs. They still have their guarantee but wont declare. Plus germany was able to take on me, belgium, netherlands, poland, france and the soviets and they still had troops to spare 😥. Me and my 3 armies got wiped
I remember I got Munich disagreement cause Germany just didn’t put anyone on my border for Sudetenland and just walked in
Personally i don't think that it is possible to achive this way in 2022. Tried to do it the same(ish) way, i could defeat basically anyone alone, but Germany attackes me early 38, i can't pull in the soviets because i would be at war with the allies, and they would naval invade me from the yugs. Geting the manpower and the main equipments is extremely hard, even with tricking early total mobilization during the civil war. Don't even have time to attack Hungary. It could help with the manpower and factories, but i tried this mission for the last 4 or 5 afternoons.... I even tried paratroopers, they helped a lot, but just not inough.
Hey! Its a great video. But in the start you disband all of your air forces and when attacking Austria you have around 150 planes in a half of a year! You did not build any air crafts in the video? Can you explain how?
I'm not quite following. The planes just go to storage, i can get them back when I want
@@Bitt3rSteel Okay, thank you! Im just a newbie to this game.
its painful to see no field marshal :(
Hey bittersteel, make an updated version of this guide,man. I tried it it doesn’t work the same way as yours did. The UK and France will declare on me when I declare on Yugoslavia
I'm trying this by rolling back to 1.10.5 Collie. I'll letcha know how it goes.
I will say, it's a real nice feature that this game has with Steam.
Can you make 30 minutes of hell achievement video? It's toooooo hard.
I have to ask. How do you enable those video tutorial buttons on the popups above? I've already cleared the game cache, uninstalled and reinstalled. Still no option to enable them.
They popped up for me with 1.10.1 patch. I'm not sure if they are part of that patch or of the Battle for the Bosporus DLC. I didn't have to change any settings either
