石垣島(108) 川平石崎海岸西沖1.リーフエッジ

最初、石崎海岸北沖リーフエッジを潜ることを考えていたが、北東の風で海中がうねっているようだったので、西沖に変更した。こちらはほとんど波はなかった。今日の成果は、岸に戻る際に人生で初めて大きな法螺貝(ホラガイ)を手にしたことである。釣り人が釣った魚をリリースするのと同じように、優しく海底にリリースした。後で調べてわかったことであるが、サザエと同じように焼くと非常に美味らしい。もったいないことをしたかな。

At first, we were thinking of diving at the reef edge off the north coast of Ishizaki Coast, but the northeasterly wind seemed to be causing swells in the sea, so we changed to diving off the west coast of Ishizaki Coast. There were hardly any waves here. My today's achievement was that, as I returned to shore, I found a large conch shell for the first time in my life. I gently released it back to the seabed, just like a fisherman releases a fish they have caught. I later found out that it is delicious when grilled like a turban shell. I wonder if I wasted it.
