If they can pull this off, this will be revolutionary for the entire genre. Good luck devs!
After PoE i doubt anything gonna be revolutionary for ARPG´s for some decades, nothing comes close to the depth of PoE, in any aspect of the ARPG genre, be it itemization, engame, side content or whatever.
@@GlockProductionz such a bad take. I play PoE religiously and Last Epoch is doing stuff we've never seen before. I think you're confusing blizzard games (non-revolutionary) with other games
@@GlockProductionz As much as I and probably most ARPG fans love PoE, that doesn't mean other games in the genre can't do revolutionary things. PoE is the deepest, has the most content, the most intricate systems, etc. But it doesn't have this faction system that has never been pulled off in another ARPG, so if it works really well, it could very well become a stable in the franchise.
It could also just fail horribly or not really matter much, in that case its kinda meh, but we'll hope for the first option
@@GlockProductionz u are right except trading, trading in poe is garbage
@@GlockProductionzPoe players are so far up their own asses it's unreal. 99% of the games depth for most players is repetition and following guides while staring at PoB on a second monitor. The game is horribly balanced with builds like SRS guardian and DD Ele allowing you to sleep to 4 voidstones or just do what most idiots do and pay someone to kill it for you in softcore retard trade mode on your La/TS with 2800hp and 700 deaths week 1. Bossers are to strong overall, nobody should be able to insta phase pinnacle bosses regardless of how powerful you are and they haven't put out a new uber in ages. GGG is just a company riding on Blizzards failure and a gambling addicted fanbase that throws thousands at MTX while they continue to grind apothecarys on their bow builds.
This partner resonance idea sounds like a perfect solution to a niche problem I never expected to be solved! Such a green flag honestly
what problem?
@@ua7890 Like when you've been playing with a mate, and the moment you go offline he gets the LP unique you've been farming all night for.
@@ua7890 the resonance system would bypass a trade restriction if your item factions are different, say your friend is a merchant and you're a circle of fortune user, this will allow the item to be traded between players regardless of factions and you wont have to go through the bazaaar
@@MegaBollard IKR!!! This is nice! I cant tell you how many times this has happened w my friends and I.
I've never encountered this problem before, except in BDO where the developers created this problem themselves.
Honestly this is one of the most revolutionary improvements not just for this game but for the ARPG genre as a whole. The debate regarding trading has been going on for 20+ years, and this feels like the first genuine attempt at actually solving it instead of just compromising. If this works out I'd like to see every modern ARPG do something similar
"This feels like the first genuine attempt at actually solving it instead of just compromising."
You just encompassed my exact feelings about the matter since they first announced it. Couldn't have said it better. 👍
Seriously, this should be adapted in one way or shape in all future arpgs
Dunno, CoF seems a way to go. MG advantages? To obtain Perfect items for your build easier? You still have to farm a lot to be able to get IT anyway. MG seems bit boring in comparision with CoF. What am I missing here?
They earned a lot of goodwill from me for this. This will pull in a LOTTTT of players who see the work the devs are putting in. Can't wait for 1.0
@@Canceraq People that are good at trading can always flip items for profit and progress their characters quite quickly, been proven over and over again in other ARPGs in the past. I also find it rather boring personally but it's definitely viable. But we'll have to see how the two factions play out against each other in terms of efficiency balance-wise, but that can always be tuned further down the line if necessary
The fact that you didn't throw up your hands, and instead earnestly tried to solve for the two very different sides of this coin is incredible. Very much looking forward to trying this out!
Even if this ends up being a bit rough and clunky at the start these guys have proven themselves as developers and I fully trust them that they will make it work. Just the effort and balls that are required to come up with a new resolution for the old ass market/trade issue regarding arpgs is amazing.
That's what you get when the devs are passionate about their project and aren't a bunch of californian lunatics that are in the industry just for the money.
@@lacielaskari
What are you talking about, I played this back in the beta tests, its come a LOOONG way, and forms into an amazing game more and more. The devs continue to display creativity and vision.
I can imagine very well that this game will smooth out most roughness as some point a few years down.
Just as PoE took quite some years to grow into what it now is.
@@lacielaskari Mind telling us what some of those shady stuff are? Genuinely curious. The only one I can think of is their first implementation of microtransaction, which they quickly changed and improved after massive criticisms from the player base.
I would rather have a clunky, deep system, than a streamlined, shallow one. I don't think this one is really that clunky though.
@@theswamps6589 Yeah but this is not 2013 anymore so it is not a valid example, also poe has mmo aspects which is way harder to maintain than "online mode" provided here. Also how is this system different than ssf servers? What's so innovative about this?
I'm frankly blown away. Everyone involved in the making of these systems seems to have genuinely sat down, listened to their players and looked at how people play ARPGs. And rather than tell players how to have fun, they've set out to make sure that players can have fun no matter their specific approach. I love it, very excited to get my hands on these updates.
Jesus, that city in the background looked good. Also, big props to the UI designers, thats looking clean!!
yall genius fr. bought the supporter pack just from this video alone because i can see the labor of love involved within the company. looking forward to further developments to come.
I think the best part about it, is simply the fact that the entire system itself is an end-game grind/goal, giving you more things to do/work towards.
Finally a game, that rewards you for not wanting to trade with other playes and not giving the feeling of missing out when not using the trade system. I am hyped for the release, I will definitly play.
Insane, you guys are solving the issue that plagues every ARPG. Last Epoch will literally be in a better state then any other ARPG.
Ehhhhhh..
In this one regard, yes.
Wow what an incredible dev blog. there is so much to go over. this is an incredible looking system for players. first off it has the flexibility to fit a lot of different playstyles, second, It gives agency to the players to decide how they want to play, and it seems extremely rewarding to go into both factions at some point. I'm excited to spec into circle of fortune!
I am absolutely intrigued with their concept of economy with a faction system. I also like the fact that if you choose to go more of a SSF style faction you get bonuses and boons to the magic find potential. I really like the resonance system and plan on playing that way with my buddies with a pseudo SSF system with them. Good job guys! Keep rockin it to 1.0 and beyond!
Good to hear from you Judd!!! So excited for the game!!!!
I absolutely love their way of solving this issue. I personally really don't like free market trade but it's fun to trade with close friends that I'm actually playing with.
Literally the best solution to the matter of trading I've seen in an ARPG, and the best I could ask for. Absolutely amazing work, I'm still taken aback that you managed to find a way to completely satisfy "economy"-type players and "SSF"-type players, all while addressing the possible abuses that inevitably present themselves when you try to combine the two philosophies.
I'm incredibly excited for full release. Thanks a lot for all your amazing work
The needs more visibility. While Blizz deserves the grief they get for lack of trade in D4, I see GGG getting a pass for not even trying to make ANY improvement/changes to trade in the upcoming Path of Exile 2. I love that Last Epoch continues to innovate.
Wonderful !!! So much care to the details. You really wanted to satisfy every group's wish.
this will be the go to way of handling trading in the future. it is just so innovative. im praying that you can pull it off. this video instantly made me want to play both guilds.
You guys did an amazing job, can't wait to try it out!
This is a game where the devs actually CARE about what players want. Love it.
I love EHG but I just want to mention Crate Entertainment (Grim Dawn Developers), they are amazing as well.
How is that except platitudes?
Why a multi-billion dollar company can't come up with something like this is beyond me. Blizzard basically invented the genre and we're still asking for features/QoL changes in D4 that were made a decade ago in D3.
Well done, guys!
If you spent the time to research instead of complaining you d see they've already answered this. They wanted the world of D4 to be lonely, to be a struggle, like it would irl if the events of the story were happening
@@joshua7426 lol D4 isn't lonely. Also, there's tons of trading, but the fact that they don't allow trading legendary/unique items with party members like in D3 is dumb and lazy. They will probably add it in the end and act like they did us a favor.
Also, I didn't complain, I stated facts.
Don't defend a company that hasn't innovated their core game in the last 10+ years.
yeah and the lonliness and struggle in their "MMO" style of play like they wanted goes against that very philosophy because of it being always online. Simple research like you supposedly implied that you did would tell you that they had no organization coming from articles where they lost their garbage director early in the process, hired devs that had never designed an ARPG before and spent more time focusing on how to monitize the game.@@joshua7426
@@joshua7426 Dude, just stop.
@@slackergeek2007umm well actually they innovated when they released diablo on mobile, figuring out how to add all that microtransactions take a lot of Innovation 🤓
Interesting! have not played in a good while but excited for the full launch of the game. The team has done and is doing a good job, so thank you to each and every one of you.
This was waaaay above my expectations, well done!
Ssf server is above your expectation?xD
all of this seems incredible so far! I've only been playing a few weeks and loving it so far. cant wait for launch. well done on this trade idea. i usually dislike trade and prefer the hunt and grind. but its nice to have both options too. and still allowing me to gift items! this focus on community really feels like the right move
This is truly an original and comprehensive solution to a notoriously difficult problem to solve. At least from what we've seen here so far. Very nicely done!
I will have to see it in experience to be better judge of this. It sounds like a perfect approach to different playstyles and rewards both the solo players and those who play regularly with other people.
it was hard to focus because the game is looking quite incredible from the new shadow system and other graphic changes, wow!
The UI is getting pretty too
All of this looks GREAT. It really makes me want to try both approaches based on my general mood!
I am legitimately hyped for this, I play solo, hate trading, and usually that's basically a penalty. I also LOVE the resonance idea! This is going to be amazing.
Those are some really good ideas! Looking forward to it
Circle of Fortune seems sooo powerful, thats amazing!!
All in all this is so cool, and you adressed the team up with a friend aspect very well!
Resonance is massive! So excited for this
this looks VERY cool and the place above the city ....holy moly.
Thank you guys! ❤
Very exciting news indeed. Interesting to see how this system plays out during the course of the game. Cant wait for launch!
This is such a unique and great innovation for the genre and is the main thing that has me excited to play LE. Really impressed with EHG and their ability to listen to feedback and then really work hard to solve problems for the players. This bodes well for the future of LE and potentially the ARPG genre as a whole. GG EHG! Keep it up!
Looks great! Excited for 1.0 for sure!
I'm very much a solo player and not at all interested in trading - this is an absolute genre changing idea!!!
Awesome! Looks very usable! Thank you!
Been excited for the factions ever since the first post, massive hype for the launch, so many cool systems and great design philosophy decisions and this really tops it off promising to solve a common design dilemma I've never seen handled well before
Perfect solution, perfect team-community ideas. Fantastic!!
This is a really great idea. Hope it is implemented well. I'm excited to play this game again when it hits full release.
Sounds amazing! Can't want for launch tomorrow!
Interesting UI's alone make this exciting, being able to interact with these things to help tailor and customize the experiences is actually pretty slick
Boy that sounds awesome. Looking forward for that release date!
Keep up the good work! Me and my friends are very hyped to look into this game on February 21st! :D
This is badass. This is the innovation that is missing from other game genres. Bravo.
The resonance system is fantastic for how I play with my friends! I've learned my lesson to be hyped about games before release long ago, but I am cautiously optimistic about this one. Going to be very interesting to see how things pan out with the release!
I'am glad, i bought this game one day and did a little sponsorship.
one of the enjoyble and rewarding game i've ever played.
Can't w8 till you realize all of your ideas devs, GL for all of us xD
This is amazing. I hope such a system will be standard in future ARPGS.
Okay this is incredibly epic and innovative
If this all works as great as it sounds it will be so insanely cool!
Sounds amazing, can't wait for release.
Excellent idea with the Resonances! Cant wait to see it in action.
I just started playing and haven't looked up anything to keep that new feeling for longer. Can't decide on a character or name lol, but seeing that bear form just made my mind up. This is also a cool way to come at the loot/ah problem. Hope it pans out to be the next big thing that others look to for inspiration in their games.
This is really brilliant stuff. As someone that has found a lot of fun in trading economies but also in SSF-type modes, having both available is really great. I'm very excited for 1.0! My biggest concern is how far behind LE is in production values from it's competition, but gameplay-wise I really do love it.
Hell yeah, can't wait to get back into LE!
Forget game changer, this is a literal genre changer! And I am beyond excited for it! Kudos to all you guys for your hard work! Feb 21st cannot get here sooner!
This is SO GOOD! Super excited for launch
Love the addition of the resonance mechanic. It's so perfect for how i like to play ARPGs.
This going to be a paradigm shift in the ARPG genre. I'm really looking forward to test it. Come and join the HYPPPPE Train!!!
Circle of Fortune for me and my Warlock. Full set drop? Awesome. Good Job guys!
Super awsum!! Playing poe for almost a decade. Played d1/2/(doesnt excist) and grimmdawn. And it seems like you guys have taken the best part and wishes of the playerbase and put something together wich hopefully be beautiful. Sure does look that way! ❤
Cant wait for February 21st, yay!
You've solved problem with trade that GGG couldn't solve within decade staying with their shitty alt-tab system and hideout teleportation. You actually need PLAY the game in order to trade rather than flipping items on exchange with level 2 character. Great work!
as someone with a rotating work schedule, the resonance feature is the absolute BEST thing i heard in this video, and that's saying a lot because the rest of the features explained are beyond amazing!
seriously, i hope every game steals this idea from you, and i mean that in the best way possible
LOVE it. Can’t wait for 1.0.
This System Is AWESOME!! Sooooo Excited For Players To Get 1.0!!
Whoever is doing the icons for the equipment in the inventory deserves a raise.
Ever since Diablo II I was fascinated by how the armor and weapons looked so metallic, ancient, and the sounds they made when dropped in the inventory were just right.
D2R repeated that and now Last Epoch continues the same way.
I don't know why, but it's so much better than small tiny icons for everything in the inventory.
1 day closer!🎉
This is so good. Thank you!
February cant get here fast enough. Looking forward to 1.0!
Let's go! Looks great
"when a set item would drop, the whole set drops instead." Wut.. Thats so fucking awesome. Genuinely super excited
I think I'm most excited for this resonance system! It sounds amazing!
Wow, this is an interesting system. Thanks for the run down!
Good Work. You Will have my support in some way over microtransaction for sure. Keep it up.
I love the way you are trying to solve the age old problem.
Just being able to HUNT for that perfect item and be showered with loot is going to feel good. But also being able to trade for that perfect item too.. It's like Christmas came early boy's!
Thank you for changing history!
really cool! been playing for a long time and i am looking forward to playing more :)
great ideas, gives me a lot of confidence in the entire game as a whole when you release features this thought out in advance.
I have faith this team can pull off anything they set their minds to!
Absolutely INSANE i cant wait to play this game again
need to see the implementation.. but the idea of it is pure gold. looking forward to february :)
I am so hyped for this game. Great job team!
Sounds amazing! Cant wait!
I love it!!!! I can't wait for this update!
Can't wait to try it =)
I can't play your game since I I Play on Xbox one s. But I really appreciate a genuine attempt to fix this problem. From ARPG fan, thanks for actually trying to fix this issue without playing favorites.
Amazing as always!
Karvarousku
This is pure genius! I'm still undecided on which faction to pick at release, but I'm pumped for it! My gut tells me Circle of Fortune may need some VERY SLIGHT nerfs, but we'll have to see what happens when we get in there.
that resonance system is exactly what i wished for in an aRPG, poe has that only if you create a private league. great work
Looks great. Interested in seeing how it feels.
WHAT IS THAT CITY IN THE BACKGROUND!? It looks so good! This game has evolved so much and I'm so excited for 1.0
this sounds brilliant... will play on release
Looking forward to jumping back in when 1.0 drops. It's starting to get tough to just hold off a little longer. 😄
Love this!
This sounds very interesting, kudos for coming up with an actual solution. I hope the implementation and balancing goes well too!
Curious as to how much investment for each of the two is needed in each season. Would it mean that for each season you can only really focus on one of the 2 if you wanna get decently far into endgame?
By the sounds of it each faction is a one and done mechanic. So you can swap between the two at your leisure, and once you've reached a tier in either you keep it forever for your particular game mode. So while you might have to do it all over again between offline, online, hardcore, etc. modes ... once you've done it you don't have to do it again for that mode, even on brand new patches / seasons / etc..
this sounds promising! i hope you dont forget about the server stability for full release
