a new grainydays video is like being relieved of a giant shart after a long day
No cap
Need this on a bulletin board

No expiry date in Jason‘s videos. Always fresh.
Dude, the shot at 3:14 is the most paintingest photo I have ever seen. Wicked stuff!
And just like that, Daddy Jason blessed our thursday with a retrochrome video
The amount of wasted time in this channel if you think about time spent by Jason taking the photos, filming, editing, someone processing and scanning the photos and all people watching it. Mind blowing.
YAY!
I shot exclusively motion picture film from Whatevergraphy when I was in Taipei recently. They hand roll and develop film at their studio. Best part, Kodak 500T, 250D and 50D are all about 6 USD per roll.
Nice! I'll have to save my rolls to process there. Can you recommend other film photography shops in Taiwan?
Hey man, saw you on NBC. Boy was that a surprise! They must have cut all of your Aerocrhome demands to Kodak for time. Keep chugging those Flamin Hot Mountain Dews!
Silent flex with the Cine Zeiss in the back
time for the best 10 minutes of my every other thursday
No more doin the dew, no more aerochrome.
I don’t know why you’re disappointed about these shots, the look really works for the locations. You probably expected something different but I think you’ll look back on these in a year and realize that they’re actually very nice.
"1 dollar short of a very nice joke" is genius.
The cost processed shots looked goodly.
This look is awesome
Love the retro tones, will buy some
Hell yes bro you saved my ass on this long drive! I really hope you will come out with your own film roll within the next 5 years!
I really like these shots. I think the cross-processed ones look the best!
Tbh I am so happy that you got to mess with a similar stock in medium! I jive with the tones that you got with the E-6 processing regardless, but C-41 is good too. Also the grain on these reminded me of wallpaper for some reason and might look sick if printed on sticker paper and applied to a wall.
e6 wins for me that StarWars desert colour scheme just hits the right cord with me, or i'm just a sucker for shallow colour, grain and that smoke!
The expectation was off BUT the images still look like paintings honestly! They look awesome👏
Nothing in life is better than seeing that Jason Kummfieldt has uploaded. Keep up the banger videos man
These colours really remind me of Maria Lax's Some Kind of Heavenly Fire. you may come back to them and enjoy them later, once you are in your Piscasso blue period.
I feel like the post rock community for a new source for album cover art.
Omg you were just on Lester Holts show!!!! You are a rock star!!
That bottle of Mountain Dew just looming in the back honestly filled me with an unpleasant amount of anxiety
It looks cool. I like it. E6 and C-41.
Thank heavens this video showed up to break up the monotonous nature of my daily gutter installation grind. God bless.
let's goo new grainydays
I think that first photo looks straight up like a painting. Very dope. I will see you one day.
I think it looks really cool ! Some tones seems to blend together like in a painting. I would have loved to see what it has to show on darker, more contrasty setups. In the woods or by a lake. Hard to find in California between the droughts and the fires.
Don’t you mean Redtrachrome?!!

Well, it's a shame I've only got two rolls of Retrochrome...
But in good news! I found a three pack of old Fujicolor 200 for a reasonable price today! I think this was just after they stopped using a fourth color layer but before it was discontinued and then returned as Fuji "Gold" 200. I'm excited to shoot some on some green days, and since it expires 09-2024, I've got plenty of time.
Look at that! I made it through this whole comment without mentioning my excitement for Fugugfilm 400 once!
I like them man, that low contrast goes a long way towards that painting aesthetic
Love the voice and attitude on life. You could do a video about watching paint dry and I would watch.
YES
This video is smooth as a snail...😌👌
i like the cross processed pics!
"Can we fix that ATTITUDE in post?"
hey! they look cool. well some of them and a few of those few are real cool.
in all seriousness, i think some of shots are really interesting and fit the desolate landscape perfectly.
I always buy whatevergrafy imax project kv3 500t for my pentax 67.. always very good and very special/cinematographic results. Eterna 35mm is also very good
Started hoarding retrochrome earlier this year. I have a safe stock. Too bad it'll be gone forever
i didn't expect my thursday to be blessed by daddy jason
How do you do that "zoom in" effect on your photo at the end of the video??
Comin' straight off the NBC high!
Hate the film, love Jason. Still always happy to see a video from you.
Love this! I am curious to know how you color graded the look in your video? I would love to recreate it.
hes back
kodak's got to brink aerohrome back, Jason's bout to get a heart attack
Yo new grainydays
Intriguing! Would love to see how you catalog and store your negs and digital work some time. Especially as your output rate is probably a lot higher than many of us… or is it all just thrown into a room of chaos?
I don't know ... I don't know what you love so much about retro chrome in the first place to be honest. But I hope there's some more coming your way.
My dude would load film on the surface of the sun if he could
LET'S GOOOOOOOO
thank god i have 20 rolls of it still. I dont wanna say which shop has it now cause its gonna jack the prices up haha.
Have to say the 2 rolls of 35mm I managed to shoot a while ago are by far the most beautiful photos I’ve ever shot, I’m not sure anything comes close to punchy, sharp slides with a colour shift 🤷🏼♂️
I liked the pictures; they remind me of watercolours.
Nice
And just like that retrochrome sold out everywhere lol
my local store has a few 35mm i might have to scoop up the rest
they dont do e6 prosessing but it looks really neat crossed prossesd in c41 u might want to give that a shot
Well, I liked the results. Also, I am a new subscriber... Instant like bro! Finally a photographer without the CZcams fake bullshit. Keep at it man.
Babe wake up grainydays posted
nice
I'd love to have a Digi Prime as a paperweight...
Woo
Is that a Zeiss Zoom Cine Lens in the back that I see 👀
Heya! I love the way all the scenes in the desert look. Could I please ask if this was done using a filter or in post or how did you achieve this soft glow effect?
I would take an educated guess and say that he uses a Tiffen Black Pro Mist diffusion filter. With the intensity of the diffusion I'd guess a level of 1/2 or even 1.
Every so often I see a new video from Jason on the feed and for a brief, grainy moment, I forget the sharp, eternal pain of existing
4:3 ratio chad with based color grading
yo Jason, when we gonna see that nikonf2 with leica glass??? very interested!!
This being motion picture film, wouldn't you also need some sort of print film / print film emulation to get the final image?
It’s the church from Kill Bill! 7:05
The colours do look nice, even if it’s not Retrochrome
Is that the guy from NBC news?
Maybe I should start with downing Flamin Hot MD on daily basis to get videos every two days 🤔I really wait for their arrival like my insecure inner photographer is craving for every like in Insta.
how do you always manage to load in sunlight?
BROOO minute 7:03!!! It's the Kill Bill church yooooo!!!
"Can we fix that attitude in post?"
Hey, for that last roll, try processing it black and white??? Works for Kodachrome, which I still have and get good results from. Worth some processing acrobatics for a roll thats worse than Baxters’ lawn ornaments…skol
Damn, don't make it hot bro! This is my secret stash!
personally I like the colours. Do you think dropping the ISO would have had an effect to the colours?
You'll Look back at these shots after Kodak resurrects arrochrome and maybe hate them less.
Can you please fix the other three boxes of Ektachrome sitting behind you so that they're all sideways in advance? thank you.
which analog medium format camera would you recommend to a beginner. i find analog photography interesting. but i don't want to invest a lot of money yet.
this is my coping mechanism to stress
NIce 👍👍
It's definitely not retrochrome, but it does have a good look to it
New video. And I didn’t commit any violent crimes to get it. Bonus.
Judging by previous videos, I'd say you found your "look" with this film. It may not come with a free bowl of soup, but it looks good on you, though.
Shot that last year and didn't like it... but of course I had it developed in E6... C-41 looks kinda good.
this is not a film related but could you share your colour grading process for your videos? I’m into video but have a biggg love for your colour.
I knew I’ve seen you on Grindr.
oh no, i missed that its gone out of stock and i've only one roll left :(
Bro what’s up with the Cine lens in the background?!
Personally I like the shots.
I'm bummed it wasn't the same as the OG Retrochrome but some of the shots came out ok. I'm also saddened that all all sites that carried Retrochrome are out of stock, guess I'll be hoarding my last few rolls.
E-6 processed looked very flat, very post-apocalyptic (kinda fits what you shoot), but I didn't enjoy that. Those cross-processed look much better and I kinda enjoyed them.
No chug. It's an omen, aero ain't coming.
We need Kodak Aerochrome, #Fujifilm Pro400H or Superia 400 medium Format im patiently waiting for #Fujifilmjapan to make a Superia 400 for medium format...
Crossed processed is soo much better than the e6 look
does anyone know what video camera he was using to film this? Think it looked really pretty
I don't know the answer but just wanted to say that the looks is mainly due to a pro mist filter, 1/4 or 1/2 even
Hey’ I’m 35th!! YES!!!!!
