For those of you who have watched my older content - what do you think of the shorter format for getting first looks at new knives?

They're fun. Wouldn't want longer stuff to go away forever, but I like them.

Thanks for the overview of these Pallarés knives, Jeff. Tomorrow, I'll be in Barcelona for four days and intend to pitch me one, either in a knife shop or hardware store. I'm sure I'll find the ones in different colors of plastic readily available there. The ones with wood handles, however, might not be, and I'm wondering if I'll have enough time and inclination to take an approx 2 1/2 hour ride to the factory in Solsona to obtain one. BTW, I recently purchased a beautiful Asturian style folding knife handmade by knife maker Carlos Quintana. It's a Taramundi, and what sets it apart from their comon models is 1) it has a simple but effective liner lock, and 2) the handle is made out of Cocobolo. It has an 8 cm blade, 440C steel, and, like the Pallarés, the blade is relatively thin, which makes it a perfect, slicing EDC knife

"Inox" is a short way to say "inoxidable" what means stainless. Check nieto or navajasbarbudo for example, there are hundreds of hand made amazing knifes in Spain, probably top in the world and hand made but not that cheap.

I always wonder what it is men do that they worry about slipping up a knife handle. I have a smooth, walnut handled oyster shucking knife. No guard, like on most any oyster knife, just handle and blade. Shucking an oyster involves jamming the tip into the oyster's hinge and forcing it apart , twisting and stabbing and prying all at once, with wet hands. Many a time, the knife has slipped from a cracked hinge and went into the protected palm of my non-knife hand, but never once has my knife hand slipped on the handle, or felt like it may.

My husband says, "acero inoxidable", basically "steel", "will not oxidise" (which is technically impossible, BTW)
