My family thinks I'm crazy that whenever we get a decent amount of snow, I always go out "for a drive". Not quite as drift happy as RWD but I can turn off traction on my S4 and have a bit of fun when the ground is covered. Fun watch as always!
I used to drive an S4 in the snow and it was such a blast !
That looked like a ton of fun! Glad to see you actually enjoy your investment and not just let it sit in a garage. Porsche 911 is one of the best sports cars on the road IMO ✌️ 🍻
So much fun! Thanks for joining! :)
I love Your 911 content ❤
Thanks! Sorry about the sound
That's absolutely awesome Tommy! Tons of fun with this car! I love the 911 and you're so lucky to get some snow where you live and good you have 93 octane fuel, we get only 92 in WA. I like how your video shows how well the mud flaps are working. Did you take the shortest route to the gas station? With the 911 I always take the longest one lol. Thanks for this video!
Always taking the longest route :)
Great video, I have always driven RWD cars for winter here in Canada with no issues even in deeper snow, so much fun and I feel like I have much more control than FWD cars.
I mean AWD is the way to go but rwd and rear engine is a winning solution
Steel can't pump your own gas in New Jersey?
Thanks for the illustration of how all-seasons work. Especially appreciated your opinion that they are fine for a few days per season of snow (i.e., good for Bridgeport...not for Buffalo). I have your mudflaps awaiting installation on my 992 C2 expected March 2024 and was glad to see how they looked and performed.
I’m so happy you gave my mud flaps a try! Congrats on the upcoming 911! And yes these tires are fine for our climate.
We call summer tires in South Florida all season tires
Yes!!
I had a BRZ but when the temps stayed under 40 I switched to snow tires. You can have the same fun with those and not almost crash like ten times in one video lol
Hahah but for me “some fun” means fishtailing! :)
I share your passion in driving, drifting in the snow with performance rear wheel drive cars 🤘
Happy to hear!!
I have DWS06+ on my M340i, proving great in this snow
These tires are indeed amazing
Dat salt tho. I have winters (Michelin Alpin P4) on my Spyder (I’m also in the northeast in MD and it’s snowing right now!), and would love to have the guts to use them too on the snow. But I’m afraid of corrosion. How do you deal with that when the season is over?
Thanks for the fun Porsche vids 👍
Corrosion doesn’t bother me. What can really happen - a few bolts get rusty? I’ll just replace them. Not enough to worry about honestly
Oj tak! Rozumiem Cię doskonale 😈Tył napęd i śnieg to najlepsze połączenie. U mnie zimowy setup w Mustangu Mach1 to Bridgestone Blizzak LM005.
911 rear engine, RWD combo is perfect for the snow.
I have a Golf GTI, and when we have bad snow and ice, the only way I can make it up on the massive hill next to my house is when I drive reverse!! Has to do with the weight transfer. So I basically transform my little GTI in a 911 😂
Haha that’s brilliant !
I was drove Cayman in snow with winter tires. Almost feels like Cayman even better than 911. No issue at all.
So for me my cayman felt like it had less grip on the snow
With winter tires or all season tires?@@TommyLGarage
I would never drive in snow because of salt on the roads here in Wisconsin. The salt will attack the aluminum on the suspension. There is so much on the botton of the engine that is exposed like wastegate, turbo etc that I would not want to expose to salt.
But it can wash off easily.
Why not just get winter tires? And swap to summers as appropriate? All seasons are a just a year round compromise. That’s what I do. I also have 991.2 C2, agree RWD not an issue in these cars!
I prefer to have more fun with less grip :)
looks like Finnish winter.
Yeyy!!!
I was kind of disappointed when you switched f80 to 911. But now I was just walked out from a Porsche dealership checking out their 911s for my next car😂
That’s the natural progression my friend :)
Yeah….I’m thinking winter tires.
Great!
Hello there. You did this on purpose. Low on gas. Get milk. I do this too haha 😅😅😅
Yes I did :)
Ha Ha...
Yeyyy
@@TommyLGarage you’re my hero!
Don’t see the point of driving a car like this in the Winter. I know you are just messing around for a video, but anyone who is driving their Porsche full time in a Canadian winter for example, well in my opinion that person basically can’t afford such a car…lol…There are other vehicles for winter duty.
Nice car you have there
Well yes and no. Life is too short to drive boring cars … if you have the means
It’s fun!
@@TommyLGarage To each their own man, but I would personally only have expensive cars like this for the summer, and a more appropriate 4WD SUV for the winter. That is ideal in my mind, but everyone beats to their own drum. Cheers
The things you do to generate more content & clicks. I would never take a 911 out in the snow unless I had to. There are proper cars to drive in the snow.
