HIT THE BELL & TELL A FRIEND ABOUT ME
#Metallica #Metal #LFRFAMILY - Hudba
*Thank you all for watching!!! Comments with the most ENGAGEMENT Will get their Reaction Done! Love y’all‼️*
I’m a huge metal fan but also a lover of reggae. Love Bob Marley. You Should check out Tribal Seeds: Ruined, and check the lyrics!
Lars doesn't write the music, he arranges the songs, the riffs into the best sequence.
Van you made me pause the video! Cliff Burton wrote and arranged ALL the music on Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets. He had a 4 year degree in music and was a Prodigy. The singer James said I think" we knew how to play music, Cliff taught us how to write it.
Ohh Cliff was the Bassist.
You Gotta Watch Through The Never Movie by Metallica Especially at the end of The Memory Remains
This might be the most under-reacted to Metallica song on CZcams
This has always been one of my top fav Metallica songs ever since it came out!
One of them for sure. Battery and The Four Horseman are two others as well in that category.
Metal Militia is the most under reacted to & underrated songs by Metallica. Although I don't think I've seen anyone react to Hit the Lights
It’s also the single best Metallica song on any platform I’ll fight to my death defending that take too
I almost miss read this lol but yes this song is hardly reacted this and harvester of sorrow are hardly ever reacted to
Chicken leg guy is angus young from AC/DC ! This is Kirk Hammett! They are both incredible !
Angus is incredible. Kirk used to be. Dont know what the hell happened to him but he isn't what he was.
Well kirk had to replace Dave....and that is no easy thing to do.
@@mothygryphon9111 there’s kind of a sad reason why. Before the St Anger album was recorded Kirk got diagnosed with arthritis. It’s why St Anger had no solos. You got to give him credit for sticking with it.
@@angus9165 that’s not true. Him getting arthritis in his wrist is true but there not being any solos on St anger because of his arthritis is not true. The reason why they didn’t add any solos to the album is because that was the new metal wave. At the time bands stopped including solos into albums. Metallica wanted another huge hit song like enter sandman, nothing else matters, the unforgiven, etc. and because of the new wave, Lars and James decided to not include any solos. There are tons of videos of them talking about it and Kirk arguing that there should be solos before the creation of St anger.
@@mothygryphon9111 Kirk is fucking sick now. He wasn’t doing too great between from around 1999 till around 2009. He had his downs during the period of 2009 until now but since 2013 he’s been on a roll. Recording wise he had all his riffs and solos in his cellphone and he lost it. Because of that he improvised all his solos for hardwire.
They were only in their 20’s when they made this, that is just true talent!
I know right? In their early 20s they wrote the ride the lightning album. Absolute prodigies
Not unusual at all. Most of metal bands do this.
@@the_Rade
But not with this level of quality.
@@jack-of-all-trades1234 absolutely correct
most musicians do their best in their 20s. jimi hendrix released are you experienced at 24.
Be careful driving while listening to Metallica, things can turn aggressive in a heartbeat.
Yeah, Metallica comes on the radio and I gotta be extra vigilant on that gas pedal.
Hahaha damn right 🤘
That's the freaking Truth!!
I rolled a car 3 times because of the progression of For whom the Bell Tolls back in 97 so regarding that i am very familiar hahaha
Hahaha facts!
Most of their songs are written by Lars and James. During the first three albums Cliff Burton also had a lot of writing credit but after he passed away it became mostly Lars and James.
The thing with Lars is that he often puts emphasis on the off beat. So instead of ONE and TWO and THREE and FOUR and, it'll sound like one AND two AND three AND four AND. The guitars don't necessarily follow this though so you have a lot of "de-synced" tracks that all play off each other really well. You can hear it in Orion and Blackened really well, but it exists all over their discography. A lot of people think Lars just isn't playing on time but it's a very deliberate choice that makes the music better as a result.
rofl. I was in an adolescent treatment center for a couple of years, and everytime someone would "graduate", they would get to play a goodbye song at the end of their last group session.
It was ALWAYS this or ST's "Institutionalized". I never understood why the therapists didn't recognize it as a giant middle finger, lol.
Institutionalized was the only song my mother ever threatened to kick me out of the house over 😜😂😂😂
@@lisemzarate4029 ...and all you wanted was a Pepsi.
@@ogami1972 I think she was more upset about the Jack, but ,,,
Disposable Heroes! Metallicas best
As someone who has spent a fair portion of their life in and out of mental institutions and hospitals this song is still very indicative of mental health care in America today. No one wants to address the serious issues of our society like rock musicians. The message of this song is that all of the "help" we currently have for treating and caring for the mentally ill is causing more harm than good. Thanks to Metallica for telling the truth and thank you for this reaction. Keep em coming!
This was written with the film “one flew over the coo coo’s nest” in mind.
This is one of my favorite songs from them. Thank you for this reaction!!!
It’s underrated for sure
Check Metallica - Shortest Straw. Lars' best performance imo
One of the best Metallica songs ever!!! It was written by James Hetfield(lead vocals), Lars Ulrich, and Kirk Hammet (lead guitar). Great job Van!!!
My favorite Metallica song of all time! Next to Fade To Black
I just subscribed to your channel
@@stephanieanne1981 same. Fade to Black is my fave, but this is a close second
This song, creeping death and the call of ktulu my favourites
Metallica! YES! Just. Yes.
Your reactions have evolved to higher level....no surprise humans always get better with practice and effort, and you are putting forth the effort.

I’m a black man, I literally brought Metallica to my town. ( a small town in SC ) I bought the cassette at a jockey lot , it was kill ‘em all. They blew me away. Then I bought ride the lightning. Mater of puppets came out and everyone was hooked. Metallica is epic. They talk about things others didn’t. I knew cared what color the skin was of who I listened to. I hung out mostly with white guys, they listened to everyone. Many in our community only listened to people that look like us.
The “chicken leg guy” is Angus Young from the band AC/DC. The lead guitarist for Metallica is named Kirk Hammet.
There's a reason that this song and Creeping Death are my favorite Metallica songs
The reason Metallica reached the greatness they did was because of Cliff. He taught them much like how to harmonize for example. He put his classical training in evolving metal and created some of the greatest metal ever recorded.
Metallica never got into drugs, I met them in Savannah Georgia, and justice for all tour. They took pictures with us and talked for an hour. Nicest guys ever. They appreciate their fans.
The Leg Guy is Angus Young and he is in ACDC. This is Metallica and Kirk Hammett is their Lead Guitar player. Lars on Drums, Jason or Cliff on Bass Guitar, and James Hatfield on Vocals and Rythum Guitar. RIP Cliff Burton
The band is great at changing up on meter & timing changes
And their transitions are seamless
My favorite Metallica song.
This songgggggg is AMAZINGGGGG I LOVE METALLICA🔥🔥🔥🔥👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I love Metallica for the simple fact all there songs are different they dont sound the same. Incredible 💯.have a wonderful day. Love watching.
My dad had a massive alcohol problem with gave him a brain aneurysm. He survived but became demented and we had to put him to a nursing home.Every time i hear this song it reminds me of my dad being locked away somewhere where he doesent want to be, and i cry. The only song
that does that to me
I grew up near Oakland and was fortunate to see them at the Oakland Coliseum in the late 80's when they were touring their Justice album. They played a ton of their songs from this album, Ride the Lightning, and Kill em All. One of the best shows I've ever been too.
This was the first Metallica song I heard when I was ten after if was over told my brother to play it again
This one's top 5 from Metallica for sure
Always love your reactions man. One of my favorite Metallica songs for sure! I believe James usually writes most of the music and Lars plays a huge role in organizing, editing and arranging the music.
Teamwork right there.
The Unforgiven, The Unforgiven II and The Unforgiven III are all must listens.
He's already done the unforgiven. Hasn't looked at the other two though.
The reason I listen to this 4 HORSEMAN, AND LISTEN TO THEM 4EVA! They hit the beats like they drawn to it, like it is meant for humanity to hear!!
One of my favorite Metallica songs!!! One is my absolute favorite, anyone that has anything to say about Lars should register to and justice for all.
My favorite Metallica song
Charlie Benante (drums) of Anthrax writes all the music for the the band (he also plays some guitar) ... (The late) Neil Peart of Rush also wrote all the band's lyrics... Roger Taylor (drums) of Queen also wrote lyrics & songs for the band... Mike Portnoy, the ex-drummer of Dream Theater also wrote lyrics, arranged & produced their records (he does that for a lot of his current projects)
Herman Rarebell, ex-drummer of the Scorpions, was a big part of their lyrics & songwriting... Tommy Lee, Motley Crue's drummer was also a key composer in the band & his current electronic solo projects... Morgan Rose of Sevendust is also a key songwriter in the band & their drummer... Steve Asheim of Deicide is their main composer & drummer (he plays some guitar)
The list of creative drummers in music goes on...
Don’t forget about Tomas Haake (drummer of Meshuggah), he writes all the lyrics for that band as well. 👍🏽🙌🏽💀
Ride the lightning and hit the light are both killer songs!!!
Metallica has very deep lyrics in their songs.
MY FAVORITE METALLICA SONG!
This is my favorite, thanks Fam... have the best weekend 💖💖😊
Hey LFR Family. Since your checking out the master of puppets album. I recommend check out the song ORION. It's beautiful. The instruments literally speak for them selves. Its definitely worth the checkout.
This song got me through some really sorry times... \m/
That smile at 4:57...welcome to the world of Metallica fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ozzy Osbourne - Diary of a Madman
Metallica - Trapped under ice, Orion, Harvester of sorrow
Maybe twist it up and just go good ole rock and roll
Tesla - Song and Emotion, Edison's Medicine, modern day cowboy. Actually can't go wrong with Tesla. Don't see anyone really doing Tesla reactions.
Triumph - lay it on the line, ordinary man, never surrender, world of fantasy,
Cliff composed Master and Lightning. Justice was in the works when he was killed so it was composed in honor to his memory.
The guy you're talking about is Angus Young from AC/DC. What you're hearing here is Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield/Metallica.
Many of us were raised with pre-conceived notions of things we didn't understand.... kudos to all of us who are willing to explore!!
Limp Bizkit’s performance doing this song at Metallica’s MTV Icon show is also great!
James Hetfield is Metallica's lyricist & songwriter... he wrote "Welcome home (Sanitarium)" based on the 1975 Jack Nicholson movie "One flew over the cuckoo's nest" (which is a dark movie about an insane asylum) ... He wrote "And justice for all" based on an Al Pacino movie w/ the same name.
Lars Ulrich (drums) is credited w/ arranging & structuring the riffs & musical output from James or the other members, into a song... For example: the riff for 'Enter Sandman' was something lead guitarist Kirk Hammett ripped on guitar w/ 1 bar & 1 bar... Lars suggested they stretch out the riff into 3 bars & 1 bar... & that became the song's main riff.
Theyre in the pocket. Perfectly in synch!
It’s always holding the back beat for drummers. They provide the baseline for the rest of the band to keep track.
I hate the guys in Metallica and with what they did to their fans but growing up when they dropped an album every song was fire. In their own right the are Kings of metal.
Anytime I listen to Metallica so do my neighbors and their neighbors and their neighbors and their neighbors and their neighbors and their neighbors!!!
They only call him trash because he fought the music pirates like Napster etc.
@EMMANUEL OBIOZOR shut up faker ppl that criticize Lars are poser fake ass ppl period
@@metaphoria3 tf? Criticizing someone and hating are two different things idiot
@@zerox9959 it’s trendy to hate on Lars which makes the ppl that hate on him disrespectful posers imo
@@metaphoria3 Agreed, they don't really know what they're talking about, they're just hopping on a packed wagon.
I don't criticize his musical talent, nor his attacks on piracy. Something just seems off in interviews to me
Every song on this album is epic😈👍
James and Lars writing songs together
...since 1981. 🤘
another great song....brings back memories

RIP CLIFF 💔😭 love you and miss you and thanks for the gift you left us all 🥃🥃🥂🍷🍷🍸🍸🍻🤘
9:59 EPIC songwriting right there!
The style of music Metallica plays was basically unheard of. There wasn't a market for it. They didn't get played on the radio, they didn't have videos on MTV (their 1st video was for One in 1988 from their 4th album), there was no internet, CZcams, Spotify, American Idol or anything. They spread and gained a following by word of mouth and playing clubs. They were underground not mainstream. When their 1st album Kill Em All came out in 1983, bands like Motley Crue, RATT, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Quiet Riot, etc were getting popular. They didn't sound like anyone and they certainly didn't dress like them either.
The lyrics are usually Hetfield's, and they're usually pretty personal to him. Lars is usually the main guy doing all the producing and arrangement of the music. The bassist, ever since Cliff, is usually ignored. And Kirk will show up for a few days, butcher some solos, get mocked for not putting in the time, and leave again to go hang out with a bunch of Asians. It's a very strange dynamic. You should watch the making of the black album. You'll see how much work each member puts in.
Metallica, the same album as this, Leper Messiah. It changed my life. Or it was there when my life was already changing, but it was there when I needed it. If you do it, do the lyrics.
Nothing else matters... is an awesome song
Dude! I listen to this at least weekly for the last 35 years.
Whats up LFR Family, just wanna say much respect to you and you son lfr jo-jo. I watch you guys all the time and love your reactions, and how you get into the music and actually take the time to listen to the music. Kerp up excellent work and look forward to the next videos. Much respect 🙌
This mean the world to me. Please understand that.
You can hear them “maturing” through their albums…Amazing musicians! Enjoy! 🤘🏻🇨🇦
I like you talking and giving your thoughts, as long as you appear to be listening it's all good, it doesn't matter if you like a song or not just as long as you give it a fair listen. That is what reacting is all about.
The singer is James Hatfield, also plays rhythm guitar.
Gotta check out ride the lightning,Orion,One,or the unforgiven
The chicken walking was Angus Young from AC/DC (borrowed from Chuck Berry). Kirk Hammet is Lightning fingers as the Lead Guitarist for Metallica.
Metallica Is One Of My All Time Favorite Bands. Love This Song.
They're also the kings of musical changes
If you like songs changing a hundred times, try listening to Dream Theater
@@TheMyguitarisblue I agree they do have lots of changes
lars is the composer in the band. he takes all the riffs from james and kirk and compiles them together to create the general skeleton of the songs you hear. then the band as a whole will fine tune it all. james is usually the sole writer on the lyrical portion.
Actually Lars is the arranger in Metallica. The riffs usually come from James, sometimes from Kirk... the last record 'Hardwired' was mostly just James & Lars jamming together, for example... How they work is James presents a riff or a song idea, and Lars puts in a tempo, a rhythm, or an arrangement on drums in rehearsals. They did all 4 try jamming together all their ideas, but we got very musically disjointed records like 'St. Anger'... 'Death Magnetic'.
The 'Load' & 'Reload' records were Lars & Kirk mostly... James said he wasn't thrilled w/ the 'experimentation' but he went along w/ what those 2 wanted to do musically at the time. Jason Newsted (ex-bass) said his ideas were all rejected by the band in rehearsals (he was credited w/ 3 songs only in Metallica) which was why he ultimately quit.
@@sumonjamal1653 arranger may be a better word than composer
One of my favourites off the album! 🔥👍
You have come a long way with your reactions! I’ve enjoyed watching you evolve and expand your musical knowledge- your son is just as great to watch! Hey people if you aren’t subscribed to him also- you should be!
James creates the lyrics. Period. Lars comes in with James and they lay out the actual music. At the time of Ride the Lightning, James was insecure about his writing, and Cliff the bassist, was the one who kept pushing him to dive into his mind and write intelligently, not just about metal stuff. See Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets. James often writes about Biblical events, overlooked movies with heavy themes (One...based off of the movie "Johnny Got His Gun") (For Whom the Bell Tolls...based off the novel) (Sad But True & Master of Puppets...Drug Addiction) (Enter Sandman...Nightmares and Addiction) (Spit Out the Bone...Addiction to Technology and becoming dependent on it) (Moth Into Flame...Amy Winehouse's death/Addiction/Weight of Fame) (The Memory Remains...Weight of Fame and how quick it is to lose it)
I like this guy
If anyone caught a lucky break it wasnt them. No radio play for the first 4 albums and they were already selling millions because of their work.
Yeah...our Angus...seen em 3 x in concert!!!
"Chicken leg guy" is Angus Young from ACDC and this is Kirk Hammett. 2 worlds apart but same Galaxy.
Amazing !!!! Instrumental!!! It's also on the Masster of Puppets Album ! Called "Orion" !!
one of my favs
anything by primus; Jerry was a racecar driver, my name is mud, lacquerhead, wynona's big brown beaver. some of the most talented musicians ever making some of the weirdest music ever
You were thinking about Angus Young of AC/DC .. the move is called the Duck Walk.. made famous by Chuck Berry .. whom Angus is a big fan of
This is an awesome song
Let’s do this brah

It's interesting that you spotted the time signatures off the bat. It bounces around like crazy. 10/4 for the intro 10/8 for the verse then basic 4/4 for the chorus then back to 10/8 for the outro. Very experimental song and for aficionados this is in the top 4 / 5 all time Metallica songs along with Fade to Black, One, Master of Puppets and ...
You need to watch James Hatfield at Guitar Center
It is called changing the tempo. It is a way to give the sensation of time speeding up or slowing down.
I’ve been jamming Metallica and Pantera since the mid-late 80’s and still get a different feel each time!!
I think you were looking for the phrase “perfect or amazing synchronization “
That leg movement you were talking about is called the duck walk originated in their fifties with Chuck Berry
You can really learn about Metallica Through the music all the way back from them in a garage at teen years...
spine buster. Out the limp bizkit cover of this song from the old mtv icons special. Its pretty good in its own right
As far as I know James Hetfield got his inspiration for this song from the movie "one flew over the coo coo's nest".
Drummer and a guitar player is a pretty common writing duo in metal.
This is the album I learned to drum to. Lars does a huge amount of the arrangement and production (as well as used to be the "hype man"). He taught me the most important thing a drummer can learn: the best drummers serve the song/performance, not the other way around.
This is by far my favorite mettalica song, thanks for reacting to it
