A Country success doesn’t measure by the size of a Country but by the competent people and the Leaders of the Country. Fruit for thought. The Nigerian doesn’t respect Ghanaians at all but they will still go to Ghana 🇬🇭. When we meet them in Ghana we welcome them and respect them as our brothers but back of their mind they hate us deeply. Trust me.
It's a complex they have.
They were brought up to feel as the 'big brother' and for a little while they were actually doing something good for themselves and Africa.
But they lost their heads, did not check their consciousness, their morals and their excessive lust for all things big, fast and rich. But not in the education of the masses. They lost focus on supporting their poor and helping their most vulnerable.
They are like a kid who was was given a lot of money at independence after finding oil. Sadly as this kid grew she just couldn't mature and become responsible. She still thinks and acts like a child today. Just read some of the comments from them on here.
The good news is she will grow up. She'll be forced to.
But before then she will have to suffer the indignity and pain of seeing her smaller neighbors growing up and becoming more responsible than her.
She'll slowly see that she has to invest everything she has in her people, their well-being or health, their security and education above all else.
It'll be these same neighbors who will help her grow up. But because they will know of her past they will not respect her for a very long time to come.
This airport look good,as a Nigerian married to a Ghanaian,I see myself as citizen of both countries. Ghana achieved this because they saw the need, Nigeria can also do same, concrete criticism is good but not castigating and attacking the government can force them to do that, Nigeria also have beautiful rails that Ghana can also learn from. Appreciating what you have is also good.

Anytime I see Nigerians comparing any new development in Ghana to their country I see it as envy and an insult to our intelligence as Ghanaians!! Nigerians think we don't deserve to have an ultra modern airport? What nonsense!!

it is partly envy and disrespect. every time they see something in Ghana they want to compare it their country. Sometimes I see comments like "Ghana that we kicked them out of our country now look at them". There is a reason why a new airport is a top priority. A new functional airport is the first step to give new foreign investors confidence in the new Ghana. With foreign investment Ghana economy will fly. Ghana needs new modern infrastructure. Of course healthcare is as much as a top priority too but that too will benefit from better infrastructure, there really is no way around it. A new airport is not built to look good and for people to go on holiday. It has a real economic benefit to the region. Do not underestimate it, a first giant step has been made by Ghana towards a bright future.
Since independence, this is the first terminal that looks like this in west Africa at least, it’s a damn shame. All our airport terminals should be like this or better; hook line and sinker.

Giants of Africa with dilapidated roads, hospitals, schools and erratic electric power supply? Giants of Africa with high level of corruption, insecurity and high infant mortality rate/ life expectancy of 55 years, according to WHO ( October 2018) report? Giants of Africa of with mass emigration to the smallest and poorest countries in Africa, instead of the other way round?
The problems listed above are not peculiar to Nigeria. Nevertheless, if the country pride itself as the giants of Africa, then why is it that Nigerians have emigrated to other countries in Africa in search of greener pastures?
It is easy for one to call himself a chief farmer, if the individual has not visted anybody's farm before. By the way, there are two countries between Nigeria and Ghana. So why is it that Nigerians never compare themselves with these countries? China and India do not call themselves giants of the world because they have the largest population in the world. What defines nations as super powers are their levels of economic developments, quality of life of their citizenry and technological know-how. I love Nigerians with all my heart but please lets refrain from negative epithet to decribe each other but rather share the ideas together to develop our respective countries, so as to redeem the image of Africa.
Self -acclaimed giants of Africa must live by example and the rest of Africa will follow.

Accra, Ghana has a new terminal (NOT a new airport) in the same old Kotoka International Airport. There are plans for a new airport in Ningo-Prampram (east of Accra), but we may not live to see it.

This airport is not a new one, is an old airport. Just that it was renovated.

For real? the last time I was in Port Harcourt's airport, it was not that great.
