SOLVED: How did Jesus Fulfill the Law?

  • What did Jesus really mean when He said, "Think not I am come to destroy the law and the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill"?
Contrary to the current teaching of corrupt Christianity that claims that Jesus, in fulfilling the Torah, gracefully brought it to an end, "fulfill" actually means to obey.
Ask any practicing orthodox Jew today if He fulfills the mitzvot (commandments/Law/Torah). He would respond with a resounding YES!
Likewise, Jesus, being an orthodox Jewish Rabbi, said exactly what any good Rabbi would say - that He fulfills the Torah - not abolishes it!

i feel Christ meant . that he came to full fill . because was prophesied in old testament that the Messiah would come to sacrifice for our salvation . a sacrifice through Christ .which would fulfill old testament prophecy. no need to go in circles .

_Matthew __5:18__ Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law _*_until all is accomplished_*_._
Jesus isn’t saying that the law will always be in place, He said that it would be in place until all is accomplished. What is the _all_ that is to be accomplished?
_Luke __18:31__ Then He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and _*_all things_*_ which are written through the prophets about the Son of Man _*_will be accomplished_*_._
What was it that was written about Him would be accomplished in His final journey to Jerusalem? Isaiah 53:7 immediately comes to mind:
_He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth._
Did Jesus ever confirm that everything had indeed been accomplished? Yes:
_Luke __24:44__ Now He said to them, “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that __*_all things_*_ which are written about Me in the _*_Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled_*_.”_
Jesus performed the final and the only sacrifice that can truly atone for sin, His sacrifice and returning to His Father to present Himself at the true mercy seat completed the sanctuary sacrificial system which pointed to Him that was repeated day after day and year after year. There is no more that He needed to do, all has indeed been accomplished.

You said, "Jesus isn’t saying that the law will always be in place"He wouldn't dare say that the law would ever been annulled, abrogated, or ended, because God, the Father already said that the Law would be in place FOREVER - 22 times. Do we need God to confirm that fact a 23rd time in order to believe Him? Or should we ignore God's word in the Torah, and count it all but lies to support the modern-day corrupt gospel?... and then you switch from the law in general to the prophecies about Jesus. You are confused. That is a totally different subject. Yes, many prophecies have been fulfilled. But some have yet to be fulfilled such as the prophecies about when Jesus comes back and enforces TORAH from Jerusalem. (Isaiah 2:3, Micah 4:2) In case you are not informed about this passage the original Hebrew confirms this is literally "the Torah". There is only one law from God's perspective - Torah. It is God's Eternal Word FOREVER settled in heaven. You need to get a good grip on the fact that Jesus touched on two totally different matters here: 1. The Torah, and 2. The prophets (the prophecies). Anyone and everyone knew back then that the Torah would NEVER be ended, set aside, or be superseded. But of course, the prophecies about Him are NOT laws of conduct, but rather events that come to pass - once. BIG difference. Don't get them confused. You need to know how the Torah is viewed, and was viewed among the Jewish people. If Jesus in fact said that the Torah will come to an end, or be superseded, I assure you, the next umpteen verses would tell you of a riot. Of course the people didn't riot over what Jesus said in Matt 5:17, because Jesus didn't say what modern day Christianity says. Common sense, my dear friend. Then you flit around saying that Jesus was the final sacrifice. Anyone who REALLY KNOWS the history of the 1st century church knows that sacrifices continued in the Temple until it's destruction - of which the disciples also took part in. I know this destroys the hell out of the typical billy-graham-style modern Christianity. But It is a FACT. See the following video for more details.Next time do your homework, and get educated before leaving another stupid comment.czcams.com/video/LJUahmsO74I/video.html

Your ignorant comment just proves your mindset. You make no case for yourself. All you do is just have an immature hissy fit. God is not a lawless God. God has a law. It's called the Torah. And NOWHERE is it acceptable for a so called "believer" to call others legalistic, as if obeying God's law is wrong. Or upholding, or encouraging others to obey God's law is wrong. You are a HYPOCRITE. You obey men's laws more than Gods. Try using your "legalistic" nonsense on your boss, or on the next cop that pulls you over. HYPOCRITE. Nowhere in scripture does any true disciple of Jesus condemn anyone for being legalistic. On the contrary - both Jesus and his disciples condemn others for being LAWLESS. In case you don't know what that term means - living as though there is no law to go by - which you do. Obviously, you are not only a hypocrite, you are a liar. We are to keep the law, yet in the way it is now to be kept. Meaning we must understand the law and the prophets, our need for salvation, the world's need for a saviour. The purpose of God's salvation and Judgement. Each revelation forfilment speaks to us, of How God is saving you. Past present and future, we teach past to show what God has done we teach future, as to what He will do, in relation to prophecy and law. For me it isn't that hard, it's not 2 laws or 10 or many. It's believing by faith, it's trusting in the lordship of Jesus, it's understanding the purpose of the law, teaching and observing that which is not forfilled, and driving to understand it, and remembering that which is already forfilled in the law and prophets, like circumcision' like and animal sacrifice' like Passover. We must respect our leaders, pray for them. But church History's / traditions does not make doctorines true. May we understand God's word, and may He lead us into all truth. It's neither law or grace, or a mixture of both. It's a sincere heart that seeks God's truth' and obeys it. We must grow from being people supporters in regards to following leaders, but follow Christ by the power of His Holy spirit, not or intelligence or affiliations. Seek now to obey God's voice from love, not traditions neither personal opinions, but humble hearts, weather seated high or low in Christianity. I'd rather have truth than Judgement. May God help us all to pray for one another, being found worthy to hear from heaven and walk in its truth. Listen to Jesus, He is the way the truth and the light.

@@HopeLives2012 here are siptures against keeping the Law of Moses (Old Covenant) which Jesus fulfilled on the cross to make a New Covenant:
9And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham (Matthew 3:9).
16The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it (Luke 16:16).
1Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? 2For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. 3So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. 4Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. 5For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. 6But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter (Romans 7:1-6).
10For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. 11But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. 12And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. 13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. 15Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. 16Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. 17And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. 18For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. 19Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. 20Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. 21Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. 22But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. 23But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. 24Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. 26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise (Galatians 3:10-29).
1Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; 2But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. 3Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: 4But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 6And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ (Galatians 4:1-7).
21Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? 22For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. 23But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. 24Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. 25For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. 26But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. 27For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband. 28Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. 29But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. 30Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. 31So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free (Galatians 4:21-31).
1Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. 2Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. 3For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 4Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. 5For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. 7Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? 8This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. 9A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. 10I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be. 11And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. 12I would they were even cut off which trouble you. 13For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. 16This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another (Galatians 5:1-26).

Ephesians 2:15 says. "Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances;..." The obvious truth here is, that the verse states that it was the Commandments contained in ORDINANCES that was abolished at the cross.
Colossians 2:14 says, "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances", again the word " ordinances" is mentioned in this passage. According to the Word of God, these ordinances were "added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made" (Galatians 3:19) It's rather clear to see here that the "commandments contained in ordinances" were added by Moses for a specific reason. If we read the passage again we see it also states these ordinances were only added TILL the seed should come. And who was this seed according to Scripture? Galatians 3:16 boldly proclaims, "thy seed, which is Christ."
The commandments contained in ordinances were added by Moses thousands of years ago as a way to prepare the people for the FIRST arrival of Messiah. They showed their faith in the coming Messiah by keeping the ordinances on a regular basis. When Jesus died on the cross, the ordinances were no longer needed because he fulfilled them by all He did while visiting us as Messiah. So, what are these ordinances? In Colossians 2:14-17 it says... "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ."
Right off we see the "ordinances" were a series holy days, new moons, and Sabbath days that were to be considered a "shadow of things to come." The word "ordinance" is NOT the same as the word "commandment" and this enables us to separate the moral law from the ceremonial laws.
Also notice in verse 16 of Colossians 2 it states, "...Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink..." when we peer into the ceremonial law, and annual Sabbaths, or feast day rituals, or ORDINANCES of the Old Covenant church, we find it speaks volumes on meat and drink offerings that were to be used to acknowledge a future event Christ the Lord would perform in reality.
The Old Testament people were just as much believers in Jesus as the New Testament people. The obvious difference is they looked forward to Jesus coming the first time. They acknowledged that faith in Messiah by performing the ordinances Moses was instructed to give them.
I will give one example as a way to illustrate how the feast days, or annual Sabbaths were performed as a way for the believers back then to acknowledge, or proclaim their faith in certain events prophecied to occur in Christ's ministry while on earth walking among us.
Each family, or group of families, if the family performing the ordinance was a small one, slew what was considered a Passover lamb during the feast of unleavened bread. After they killed it they ate it along with the unleavened bread as a way to proclaim their faith in the coming Messiah. As we know, John the Baptist spoke of Jesus as "the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world" in John 1:29. Paul also declared later that, "Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed" in 1 Corinthians 5:7. With that said, we can see how the ancient believers believed the Messiah would come in the future to die for their sins. Since Christ is the Lamb who was sacrificed on Calvary 2000 years ago, then there is no need to celebrate the Passover feast that pointed forward to the coming of God's Lamb who would take "away the sin of the world!" This is why Paul declared these ordinances were "nailed to the cross" when Christ took the "shadowy thing" the ancient believers performed on an annual basis and "made a show of them openly" before the eyes of all the nations when He hung on that cross. This was done openly to make it very clear in the hearts of those with eyes that see that the ordinances were in fact abolished on Calvary.
Looking back 2000 years, we realize all this has been done as prophecied in many areas of the Old Testament. As Christians, we now await His second coming of Messiah today. All the "meat, drink, holy days, & sabbaths," or feast days as most call them today were abolished at the cross. Jesus fulfilled their purpose perfectly 2000 years ago. This passage in Colossians also called these sabbath days a "shadow of things to come." Each of these annual feast days spoke of future events in the life and work of Messiah, as I illustrated in the previous explanation of the Passover feast day.
In Leviticus 23:24-38 we find that the sabbaths mentioned in Colossians chapter 2 are again confirmed to be the "annual sabbaths" that the Lord instructed the people to keep. Jesus Himself confirms the fact He did not come to abolish the Law when He said, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." Matthew 5:17.
Notice the "sabbaths" of Leviticus...Count them and you will find 5 sabbaths within a 15 day period which of course are not to be considered the WEEKLY seventh day Sabbaths. Leviticus 23:23-38 reads, "And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, (sabbath #1 day #1) a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God. For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people. And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people. Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, (sabbath #2 day# 10) and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.(sabbath #3 day #9) And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD. On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.(sabbath #4 day #15) Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.(sabbath #5 day #8) These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day: Beside the sabbaths of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the LORD.
Did you notice the meat and drink offerings mentioned in this passage? This confirms they are the same sabbaths spoken of in Colossians 2:14-17.
Hebrews 9:1,10 "Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation."
What does the term in Colossians 2:17 mean where it said those ordinances are, "...a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ"?
When I stand in front of a light source I cast a shadow correct? Now, if you find that shadow I cast and follow it you will eventually come to my body, correct? Does my shadow continue on behind me? No, it stops at the body does it not? All those feast days are shadows of things that Jesus did in reality. When you follow those shadows you will eventually come to rest before the body of Jesus Christ on that cross. There is no shadow beyond the cross. The ordinances were nailed to that cross, and that body on that cross is in fact Christ. He did EXACTLY as those shadows depicted He was to do.
The fact that it was said “Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.” - Deuteronomy 31:26 (KJV) proves that the law which was written by Moses was not to stand for ever, but however the tables of stone, containing the ten commandments were put inside the ark of the covenant showing their eternalship as the God who sits on the mercy seat, the cover of the ark of the covenant, is eternal (“And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the ark:” -Exodus 40:20 also “Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;” - Hebrews 9:4)

You talkin right brother. The word fulfill also means to satisfy. It's like taking all the classes for a high school diploma. The diploma means one has satisfied or fulfilled the requirements. If Jesus wanted us to "keep" the law as this gentleman is saying, why did He need to come down in the form of a man, suffer, etc? He could have simply spoke from heaven or used more prophets as with before. Jesus fulfilling the law means follow Jesus and do what He does and the law will be fulfilled. Read the rest of the Sermon on the Mount. He doesn't reinterpret the law, He clarifies what it looks live walking like Him. Your scripture references are great. @@teluvv66 You are taking me out of context my friend, the law that Jesus nailed to the cross is the ceremonial law NOT the Ten commandments.
The ceremonial law is the one called the law contained in ordinance while the Ten commandments are called the law contained in stone.
Jesus never came to fulfill the ten commandments as they point back to creation, He fulfilled the ceremonial law that pointed to the cross.
For the ten commandments, Jesus came to do what was said here, “The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.” Isaiah 42:21. And how do you think He did that? Matthew 5:27,28 says, "Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." And so forth...
The ten commandments are what defines sin, abolishing them means there would be no more sin: “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:20. To say that the ten commandments are not abiding, is to say that there is no more sin in the world, but look around you, and you will see that there is sin in the world. You're wrong about Colossians 2 . Don't take isolate veŕses to create new doctrine like most Christians do . All the feast are set apart and meant to be holy convocations, they aren't ordinances . Paul was talking to not let anybody (ascetists, phylosophers) Judge them concerning the feast by telling them not to taste or falsely deny the body, because these people aren't part of the BODY OF CHRIST . He wrote: BUT THE BODY is OF CHRIST wich means only the body of Christ (believers) can Judge on How to keep the feast . Paul himself Writes: LET US KEEP THE FEAST NOT WITH THE LEAVEN OF ........ ! If the feast were abolished , the believers would have not gathered on the Day of PENTECOST after Christ Death as Leviticus 23 commands it . Christians celebrate Christmass , New year s day wich aren't in the bible, but don t esteem God's Holy Days

It also says you are not under the law. Lawlessness then refers to you being without the law of Christ. If I dont commit adultery merely because it is written out then it is by the letter. If I dont commit adultery because I love my wife and my children then it is by the spirit. If I give only because it is written to give then it is by the letter out of compulsion. However if I give because I love the person and have empathy for their suffering as i would my own it is by spirit. The whole law is fulfilled in one phrase. Love your neighbor as yourself. Love does no harm to a neighbor therefore it fulfills the law. Those lawless ones Jesus speaks of may keep the "letter" of the old testament or even the "letter" of the new testament but continue to do harm to their neighbors in various ways. Lets see the new testament says obey the laws of the land for example. If I do this out of love I see that I want those under my authority to listen to me such as my children. Well then I should also obey those in authority over me including the president. Also lets say disregarding the speed limit or tax law. What does this have to do with loving my neighbor? Well when i speed i put my neighbor and his family at risk of harm or possibly literally cause harm. And when I refuse to pay taxes i take money out of someone elses pocket and from someone elses family therefore doing harm to them and being "lawless" literally. Not being under the law of moses does not make you without law. Like Paul said with those who are not under law he was also not under it but he was still under the law of Christ regardless.

I will talk about : Have to. May do. And like to do.
Have to - are the obvious commands of God. May do - might be those things God proposes but not requires (Paul is allowed to marry if he wants like Peter and the other disciples.). I like to grow in starting to do what God likes. Even without command. Just to honour and glorify Him. Carry our cross of suffering with joy might be one of them...

The plural lower case spelling refers to Biblical Feasting holidays, and those sabbaths were nailed to the cross with Jesus. The capitalized 'Sabbath' refers to the moral law (10 Commandments) and that day has remained the same since creation Genesis 2:2 & 3. Since God never changes His mind, and I cannot find any scripture where God gave man the liberty to change His Laws, I cannot see how so many pastors cannot grasp this fact. The Jews STILL worship on Saturday Sabbath today. Consider also, the 4th Commandment is the only commandment that starts with the word "Remember". The mediator/husband/protector Moses , interceded for the children of Israel through the Leviticus priesthood ; the law of animal sacrifice and oblations for their sins when they transgressed against the laws of God the Father ; and for offerings on a daily , new moon , sabbaths , and holy days or feast days . The sacrifices and oblations were required under the mediator Moses ( Please read Numbers chapters 28 & 29 ) until they were nailed to the cross with the death and resurrection of the mediator Christ ( Hebrews 9:8-12 , " The Holy Ghost this signifying , that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest , while as the first tabernacle was yet standing : Which was a figure for the time then present , in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices , that could not make him that did the service perfect , as pertaining to the conscience ; Which stood only in meats and drinks , and divers washings , and carnal ordinances , imposed on them until the time of reformation . Jesus said that these two commandments summarize "the whole of the Law and the Prophets." If you love God, you won't break the first Commandments, dealing with your behaviour towards God. And if you love your neighbour, you won't break any of the remainder. And if you love your neighbour, you won't be too busy writing a sermon and say that you have more important things to do, like the Priest or the Levite. Works of the law without faith in Christ cannot save anyone. Belief in Christ is the fulfillment of the law by GOD's own unmerited favor which is called His grace and that same grace through faith we receive GOD's salvation and adoption into the Family of God and into the Kingdom of Heaven. Our faith in the redemptive work ( the shedding of His own blood at Calvary ) Christ on the Cross on Golgotha's Hill and God's gift as Christ is and was the "Lamb of God" for one and all sinners who believe and He was slain for our redemption and this faith is the righteousness that GOD imputes and gives to us just as Abraham believed GOD's promise and it was imputed and accounted unto him as righteousness by God's own giving of grace and through our believing faith. He ( Abraham ) believed GOD and GOD's promise for his promised son Isaac..., and
so we believed God's report in then GOD sending His "Only Begotten Son" who was..., and who is..., and who is to come our MESSIAH..., EMMANUEL aka IMMANUEL, KING of KINGS and LORD of LORDS who is Christ Jesus ( greek translation ) aka Yeshua Ha' Meshiac ( Hebrew translation. ) Our righteousness is as of filthy rags in God's sight because Christ was the one promised and without sin..., but He..., that same Christ became sin who knew no sin in our stead. Christ was the perfect, sinless and unblemished lamb that God had promised to send as told to us in scripture by God's own prophet Isaiah.
      Isaiah Chapter 53.
We are saved by grace through faith..., lest that...,any man should boast in his own self righteous works, deeds or rituals.
Christ gave us 2 New Commandments in scripture..., the 1st. one is..., to love the Lord your GOD with all of your mind..., with all of your heart..., with all of your strength..., and with all of your spirit.
#2 is too and also..., to love your neighbor as you would love yourselves.
Christ said that on these two new commandments hang all of the laws of God given to and through Moses and to the Prophets. Our sin debt and punishment was all laid over and onto Christ. Christ took our punishment upon His own body in that while we were yet still sinners Christ gave His own body in exchange for our salvation and this is why Christ spoke these words while hanging on the cross..., IT is FINISHED!!!

He says that the implication in your correct understanding is that we shouldn't even try to obey the law, because we can't. That is a distortion of what true Christianity teaches. He holds up Paul as someone who was blameless under the law, but he seems to forget that Paul described himself as the chief of sinners. @@sarco64 It is unfortunate that you willingly IGNORE the entire theme of the Bible to justify your secret sin.
Obviously, you are ignorant not only of the scriptures in general but also of Paul's writing style. Get educated.
Paul loved to role-play in his letters. One time he played the sinner. And other time he played the fool.
If we apply your "if Paul said it in this isolated sound-bite then it much be true in reality" rule, then Paul is also a fool. In that case, you condemn yourself as believing a fool.
To the Corinthians Paul said, "I speak foolishly".
And yet again in another place, Paul said, "I speak as a FOOL".
Does that mean that Paul is a fool?
Absolutely not! Paul was just role-playing as he often did. He assumed the role of a fool to prove his point.
And yes, Paul said in another spot that he is the "chief of sinners".
Does that mean that Paul in a sinner, constantly disobeying God's law as you do?
Absolutely not! Paul was just role-playing as he often did.
If Paul was really saved, then Paul was obedient to God's law 100%. That is why he confirmed to the Philippians that he obeys Torah BLAMELESSLY = no sin.
In fact, Jesus' closest disciple, John confirms - he who sins is OF THE DEVIL. How much room does that give you, bud? Go ahead and dance around that one. YOU will make a fool of yourself.
You conveniently ignore my example of Zacharias and Elizabeth, of which the scriptures clearly say they BOTH obeyed ALL the commandments of the Lord, blamelessly = no sin. If you disagree with this, then tell me what sin they are guilty of (contrary to scripture). If you agree with this, you must concede that it IS possible to obey all of God's mitzvot blamelessly.

    1. The church is not under Law but under grace. Nor are we purposed to keep the Law for the means of justification / salvation. What is to be considered is what we are justified / saved to (in accordance with) which is our sanctification.
    2. As we are born of God, redemption from sin and sanctification of the nature go together.
    3. Considering that it is God who is at work in us, the Law is only to be distinctly recognized / accepted as the operating platform / proponent by which the Holy Spirit sanctifies us as it is He that will bring us to perfection. Necessarily, sanctification is strictly the work of the Holy Spirit. Hence, as the Law distinctively reflects the nature of God, it is that nature at work in us, spurring those who are saved to harmonize with His objectives.

It is clear that the all true believers are not under the Law because no one can be made righteous by the law and the law cannot save anyone. The Law is Holy and Eternal and its purpose is to drive people to Christ because it clearly shows that no, one - no not one is righteous before God. Those who are not in Christ come under the condemnation of the Law because they are under it however Christians have fulfilled the Law through Jesus Christ and by faith in the completed works of Christ they fulfill all the requirements of the Eternal Law of GOD. In Christ, Christians enter into a new covenant of faith with God already fulfilling the requirements of the Law including every dot and title in Christ. They are free from the Law as a woman is free from the law that binds her to her husband when he dies, under the Law no man can or is justified.
Hence Paul clarifies in Galatians O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
4 Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Yep, all is so clear that John will write in the Book of Revelation (Rev 12.17) _«And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.»_ and (Rev 14.12) _«Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.»_
So clear that Isaiah prophecies that _«For as _*_the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make_*_ , shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. 23 And it shall come to pass, that from _*_one new moon to another_*_ , and _*_from one sabbath to another_*_ , shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.»_
Wait a minute! Did not Jesus say _«Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, _*_Till heaven and earth pass_*_ , one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.»_
      Very clear indeed...

Following the original sin, the death penalty (second spiritual death) was imposed on all who sin, which is everyone. Nobody can work off the death penalty by putting in time or doing works. No matter what we do, the death penalty will still apply.
When my brother is condemned to die, I can try to offer my life in place of his, but this will not work as I have only one life to offer and that has already been condemned for my own sins. I do not have another life to offer to my brother. The only salvation for my brother is to have someone who has never sinned to come forward and offer his life, which is available to give. This did happen when Jesus, Who never sinned, did offer His life for us. He paid the death penalty in place of us.
This gift of grace (death penalty paid for) is available to everyone who has ever lived, before, during, and after the time of Jesus. All we need to do to redeem this gift is to accept Him as the way. But if we do not keep his commandments (the law), we have really not accepted Him and the gift of grace will fall by the wayside, unused, and we will still die the second (spiritual) death.
But if we keep his commandments (the law) and truly repent when we err, then we have really accepted Him and the second (spiritual) death has been paid for by Him.
So, "Yes, the law still applies." James 2:26. For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Those who teach the people to lightly regard the commandments of God, sow disobedience, to reap disobedience. Let the restraint imposed by the divine law be wholly cast aside, and human laws would soon be disregarded. Because God forbids dishonest practices, coveting, lying, and defrauding, men are ready to trample upon his statutes as a hindrance to their worldly prosperity; but the results of banishing these precepts would be such as they do not anticipate. If the law were not binding, why should any fear to transgress? Property would no longer be safe. Men would obtain their neighbor’s possessions by violence; and the strongest would become richest. Life itself would not be respected. The marriage vow would no longer stand as a sacred bulwark to protect the family. He who had the power, would, if he desired, take his neighbor’s wife by violence. The fifth commandment would be set aside with the fourth. Children would not shrink from taking the life of their parents, if by so doing they could obtain the desire of their corrupt hearts. The civilized world would become a horde of robbers and assassins; and peace, rest, and happiness would be banished from the earth. GC88 585.1
    Chapter 3-God Has Rules Too
    Our Unique Responsibility
As the Supreme Ruler of the universe, God has ordained laws for the government not only of all living beings, but of all the operations of nature. Everything, whether great or small, animate or inanimate, is under fixed laws which cannot be disregarded. There are no exceptions to this rule; for nothing that the divine hand has made has been forgotten by the divine mind. But while everything in nature is governed by natural law, man alone, as an intelligent being, capable of understanding its requirements, is amenable to moral law. To man alone, the crowning work of His creation, God has given a conscience to realize the sacred claims of the divine law, and a heart capable of loving it as holy, just, and good; and of man prompt and perfect obedience is required. Yet God does not compel him to obey; he is left a free moral agent. NL 29.1
The subject of man’s personal responsibility is understood by but few; and yet it is a matter of the greatest importance. We may each obey and live, or we may transgress God’s law, defy His authority, and receive the punishment that is meet. Then to every soul the question comes home with force, Shall I obey the voice from heaven, the ten words spoken from Sinai, or shall I go with the multitude who trample on that fiery law? To those who love God it will be the highest delight to keep His commandments, and to do those things that are pleasing in His sight. But the natural heart hates the law of God, and wars against its holy claims. Men shut their souls from the divine light, refusing to walk in it as it shines upon them. They sacrifice purity of heart, the favor of God, and their hope of heaven, for selfish gratification or worldly gain. NL 29.2
Says the psalmist, “The law of the Lord is perfect” (Psalm 19:7). How wonderful in its simplicity, its comprehensiveness and perfection, is the law of Jehovah! It is so brief that we can easily commit every precept to memory, and yet so far-reaching as to express the whole will of God, and to take cognizance, not only of the outward actions, but of the thoughts and intents, the desires and emotions, of the heart. Human laws cannot do this. They can deal with the outward actions only. A man may be a transgressor, and yet conceal his misdeeds from human eyes; he may be a criminal-a thief, a murderer, or an adulterer-but so long as he is not discovered, the law cannot condemn him as guilty. The law of God takes note of the jealousy, envy, hatred, malignity, revenge, lust, and ambition that surge through the soul, but have not found expression in outward action, because the opportunity, not the will, has been wanting. And these sinful emotions will be brought into the account in the day when “God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil” (Ecclesiastes 12:14). He came to free us from the death of the law. He abolished the law of death in his flesh by dying to it on the cross. Then arose on the third day. Jesus did the wave offering before the lord in heaven and came back and appeared to his disciples. Mary was not to touch him for he have had not went to the father at the time do the wave offering.

If you are good at one thing, it is IGNORING the truth. If you don't believe what I said in the video, go and find yourself some observant Jews. Ask them if they fulfill the Torah. They will all reply "YES. WE FULFILL THE TORAH". Ask them what "fulfill" means. They will all tell you exactly what I said in the video.
As usual, your comment is saturated with evidence showing that you have NO CLUE what you are talking about.
The book of Colossians, which you are referring to saying "He abolished the law of death in his flesh by dying to it on the cross." actually proves that the early church was very Torah observant. You desperately need education. Which I cannot give you in this context. I don't have the time or space to give you a course on this subject in a youtube comment.
However, I'll touch on another aspect of your comment.
Speaking of Yeshua/Jesus, Paul said, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
In the KJV we read, “the handwriting of ordinances” here.
It is debatable what Paul meant by the “handwriting of ordinances”, or the “handwriting of requirements”. But in this context Paul stated emphatically that whatever those ordinances were, they were “against” them.
There are three main interpretations of what the “handwriting of ordinances” are:
The laws and decrees of man.
The curses that the priest wrote in a book as per Numbers 5:23
The law of God, given by the hand of Moses.
The word translated ordinances/requirements here is from the original Greek word “dogma”. The Greek word “dogma” can mean a few different things: it can mean doctrines, decrees, and ordinances of men. It can also mean the doctrines, decrees, and ordinances of God. But what is the correct interpretation in this passage, considering the scriptural, and cultural context?
Paul said in Romans 7:12 Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.
The Torah gives us a lot of guidelines, and instructions that are for our good. Laws like “thou shalt not murder”, and “thou shalt not commit adultery” are certain good for the general public. Can such commands be “against us”?
The Torah is HOLY, JUST, and GOOD. It is a God’s guidelines and instructions of justice. Can that which brings such goodness, and justice be “against us”?
Can commands such as “thou shalt not bear false witness”, “thou shalt not murder” be against us?
The answer here is obvious: NO!
Clearly, Paul was not talking about the Torah here. It is quite clear in context that he was talking about the decrees, ordinances, and doctrines of the world.
Verse 20 reiterates, and clarifies this truth. Paul said, “20 Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world…”
The ordinances that Paul was talking about here was the ordinances and requirements of worldly laws, given by worldly rulers.
Consider this: The Greek word “dogma” used here for ‘ordinances/requirement’ is the same word used in Luke 2:1 “In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree (dogma)…”
Also in Acts 17:7 “They are all defying Caesar’s decrees(dogma), saying that there is another king, one called Jesus.”
And once again in Hebrews 11:23, “By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict (dogma).”
There are other uses of the Greek word dogma in the Septuagint that obviously is referring to the ordinances/decrees/requirements of men. Do we need any further proof?

You need to be careful what you teach because if you yourself are spreading lies. You will have to answer to that. For in Revelations it says that All Liars shall have their part in the Lake of Fire. Good Job! This is also a Rabbinic Idiom as well. Remember we must understand the historical and cultural context when interpreting scripture. One cannot apply meaning that is solely from the Church fathers who did very well in some cases but missed understood in other cases because they did not think with a Hebrew/Rabbinic mindset. You can find Rabbis using this idiom in the Mishnah in the Middle Ages, and even today. To Abolish the Torah one brings a wrong teaching and therefore teaches other to ignore or disobey the Torah. To fulfill Torah one teaches Torah correctly and helps other to fully live it out to honor God. Just look at all of Matthew Chapter 5 after He says He did not come to abolish the Torah but to Fulfill it. So the commandment to not murder he explains that before one gets to the point of wanting to murder it starts with anger in the heart. Just read the rest of the verses with that understanding and it flows beautifully. Today it could be said that if anyone teaches that a man can be married to another man or a woman can be married to another woman and this is what Torah teaches they abolish the Torah. If one teaches that God made both male and female and the two shall be joined together and become one flesh. This is to fulfill Torah. Finally how does one explain,” Matthew 5:19 Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven.

Christ said that not one jot or tittle of the law would pass until all be fulfilled, which He did fulfill. Otherwise we would still need to keep circumcision and animal sacrifice as well. If we are to still keep the law, then all the apostles would be guilty of heresy at the council of Jerusalem for saying the new converts didn't need to keep the law. The law is now only for the unrighteous, but Faith and Love is for the believers to live by (1 Timothy 1:5-9).

    • @axeattheroot2657
      @axeattheroot2657 Před 6 lety +8

We are to follow the law of Christ (1 Corinthians 9:20-21, Galatians 6:2) the law of Faith (Romans 3:27-28) and the law of the Spirit, which sets us free from the old covenant law of sin and death (Romans 8:2, 2 Corinthians 3:6-17). Therefore, Christians are not lawless, but only this is how the law has changed (Hebrews 7:12-22).
To try and keep the old law will cause you to fall from Grace (Galatians 4:21-5:6) because the law is not of Faith (Galatians 3:12) and voids Faith (Romans 4:13-14). The strength of sin is by the old law (1 Corinthians 15:56) and stimulates sin (Romans 5:20, 7:5-12). That is why the apostles opposed keeping the law (Acts 15:5-29).
Christ told us to bear fruit of the Spirit for salvation (Matthew 7:16-20) which can only be done through Him (John 15:5). Once we have the Spirit we no longer need the old law because the Spirit gives life, but the law is only a ministration of death that kills and condemns (2 Corinthians 3:6-17): "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is NO LAW." Galatians 5:22-23

“All those who are under the law are under a curse.”Gal. 3:10
“The law has jurisdiction over a man as long as he lives.”Rom.7:1 BUT…
“You have died and your life is hidden in Christ with God.”Col. 3:3
Therefore: We are NOT under the law (Torah)Rom. 6:14 because we died with Yeshua! Period! End of sentence! I died to the Torah and this world by identifying with Yeshua who fulfilled the Torah, died, and was resurrected. We are not to follow the Torah, but are to be led by Holy Spirit, who has written YHWH’s desires upon our hearts. As we are led by, and filled with Holy Spirit, we will enter the rest Heb.4:1, take Yeshua’s light yoke upon ourselves Mt. 11:29, abide in Him Jn.Ch.15, and naturally do all those things that we previously struggled to do by personal vigilance while not in the rest, not wearing His yoke, and not abiding. Sorry. You have it backwards. We died to sin, not to Torah. If you are led by the Holy Spirit, you WILL obey Torah, because Torah is the guidelines and instructions given to us by the Holy Spirit, through Moses. Jeremiah confirmed: the New Testament is the writing of the Torah on our hearts.
The reason why the Israelites failed so much is because they didn't die to sin, they didn't die to self. They didn't obey Torah. It is possible to obey Torah. Many did. A good, clear example as John the Baptist parents, who obeyed ALL the commands, BLAMELESSLY (Luke 1:6). Therefore, we have no excuse.

    • @ChristopherEnoch
      @ChristopherEnoch  Před 5 lety +1

I thought you were much more educated than that.
The issue in James 2 is whether or not a person is a lawbreaker. Very generic. If you break one law, you are a lawbreaker. If you break all 613 laws, you are a lawbreaker. From a vague, non-specific perspective, a lawbreaker is a lawbreaker. If the issue is whether or not you are a lawbreaker, than yes, breaking one law gives you the same "lawbreaker" status as breaking a hundred. Very generic. In fact, IF you actually did your studies, Jews today hold the same perspective regarding the Torah. Don't forget that James was a Jew, speaking as a Jew. If you are not well versed in the culture, and worldview of orthodox Jews you can easily misinterpret this passage, as you have apparent did.
Looking at James 2 from an ignorant Gentile mind, it seems to say that if you break one commandment, you actually, and factually are guilty of breaking all the commandments. If you are still confused, then I have a few questions for you:
      1. If breaking one command means you are guilty of breaking them all, then WHY did God prescribe different levels of punishments for breaking different commands?
      2. If breaking one command gives you the same guilt as breaking them all in a literal, absolute, and definitive sense, then WHY does the Lord say that some people will be punished with a GREATER condemnation. Obviously they broke more serious laws to deserve greater condemnation. In fact, the same book, James, the next chapter, tells you that. (James 3:1 ,Matt 23:14)
      Don't cherry-pick Gal 5:14.
Don't forget that the first and greatest commandment is to love God with ALL...
The second commandment to love your neighbor.
The whole Torah hangs on these two commandments.
Also, don't overlook the fact that IF you love God, you will OBEY His commandments. If you truly love Him the way He wants you to, you will not disobey Him. The Bible makes this CLEAR.
And yes, if you love your neighbor the way the TORAH teaches you to, then you will not murder, commit adultery, steal, etc.. etc...
God calls us to OBEY all of His commandments. Don't fall for the modern-day corrupt church teaching that it is impossible to obey all of God's commandments.
The fact is that it is easy. After all the commandments were given in the Torah, God confirmed with Moses that it is NOT HARD to obey (Deu 30).
Also consider the fact that many people have obeyed the Torah blamelessly. Even the apostle Paul says that he obeys Torah blamelessly.
John the Baptist's parents are another example (Luke 1:6) They obeyed ALL the commandments of the Lord.
It is possible. God is not a tyrant that He should bark out commands to a people He loves, knowing that they cannot obey. You are a victim of modern-day corrupt Christian doctrine.

we are still under the old covenant. Jeremiah 31 31 same as Hebrew 8 8. same covenant only difference is our hearts. the law will be in our hearts of flesh rather than our hearts of stone and we will no longer need to teach the word because everyone will know it. not a reality now. Tif Troyer, The law that is placed in our hearts is the New commandment of the New covenant Christ gave to Love (John 13:34, Romans 5:5) But Not the Old covenant law of sin and death, which the Spirit sets us free from (Romans 8:2, 2Corinthians 3:6-17). To try and keep the Old covenant law will cause you to fall from Grace (Galatians 4:21-5:6) because the law is not of Faith (Galatians 3:12) and voids Faith (Romans 4:13-14). This is why the apostles opposed keeping the law (Acts 15:5-29).
Christ is the end of the law ONLY for those who believe (Romans 10:4) so we can serve in newness of Spirit, but no longer by the old letter of the law (Romans 7:4-6). Therefore, Love and Faith is for the believer to live by, but the old law is now ONLY for the unrighteous (1 Timothy 1:5-9). "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is NO LAW." Galatians 5:22-23

There is SO MUCH WRONG with Eddy's statement! In fact, there is TOO MUCH WRONG with his statement, I cannot address all the error in mere CZcams comments. Like many Christians, he needs to completely start from scratch. And I cannot do that in a few comments. But I can give you something to think about. 1. Covenant DOES NOT EQUAL LAW. Covenant (Hebrew "Brit"), and Law (Hebrew "Torah") are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS. My question to Eddy is, what is the "Old Covenant"? There are MANY, MANY Covenants documented between Genesis, and Malachi. Which one is the "Old Covenant"? Give me a detailed explanation..... and 2, Jesus was a JEWISH RABBI, and as such He "fulfilled" the Law. Ask any Jew if they "fulfill" the mitzvahs. They will tell you of a certainty, 'YES!". Furthermore, as a Jewish Rabbi, EVERYTHING Jesus taught was Torah. No more. No less. I don't understand how so many Christians are SO BLIND to these simple facts. You cannot interpret Jewish sources which a Gentile mind. What you get is COMPLETE NONSENSE - as we see in so many of these comments.

The 10 Commandments is the Old covenant (Exodus 34:27-28, Deuteronomy 4:13) which is done away (Hebrews 8:13-9:4, 2 Corinthians 3:6-11, Galatians 4:21-5:6, Romans 7:4-7). Apostle Paul warned that trying to keep the law will put you back under its curse and cause you to fall from Grace in Galatians chapters 3-5. We are to live by faith (Hebrews 10:38) but the law voids faith (Romans 4:13-14). This is why we are to look to Christ instead of the law, which He is the better covenant than the law (Hebrews 7:12-22).
Christ is the end of the law for those who believe (Romans 10:4) so we can serve in newness of Spirit, but no longer by the old letter of the law (Romans 7:4-6, 2 Corinthians 3:6-17). Shalom. I've been saying this for 10 years, but no one understands what I do and no one understands gods word. I can't understand the world, it's filled with so much death and darkness, yet the choice for life and light is something of a mystery. I've been training for 10 years how to be dependent on just god, giving away all I own and serving others along my way, walking distances like San Fran to San Diego, all around Florida, parts of Georgia section hiked the Appalachian, walked at night like a blind man praising God for I could see with no light. Fasting and carrying less more so with every spring departure. What is needed to live? God, everything else is a distraction of God, and destruction to our temple(body) even these devices, convenient and functional yet at what cost to the temple? Is this fertile ground to sow seed, not if the farmer wants to keep their own health. I'm normally off grid, but I still haven't fully figured out winter yet, and I still feel like I've been training, this is my 10th spring, I'm training with living outside, gardening and chicken raising. May God's will be done as it is in heaven, so be it too on earth. Thank you for this confirmation, I've been saying this to everyone I can and showing how simple life can be, yet the addiction of society and social standard is difficult to give up. I understand the difficulty to being like Jesus, yet know the tranquility of being like Jesus, and having faith in his ways. Seeking out God for your truth, once we know god exists, the reality is, why doesn't god talk directly to us, well we've ignored god for how long, maybe it requires more time of devotion to God in the light (sun and moon), and fasting from fleshly desires consumption as well as comforts. Jesus came to heal the sick, by showing how to remain healthy, and if obeying God and another comes to take your life, knowing that you don't have to lift a finger cause we are guaranteed resurrection in obedience if life is taken from us. If this wasn't the life I was meant to be in and God allows someone to come take it to go to the next life, Gods will be done. The death that worries me is the death I see most apparent, the one of our lack of giving away our fleshly desires and causes of lack of health, the addiction of it all, the depravity of giving God thanks for the things destroying our bodies and causing lack of health or a statistical probability of death. We gamble with our lives every day with all the various forms of technology we use, we call ourselves strong yet with out our technology most humans can't even survive in nature for even a season let alone a full cycle. Our lands are ornamental with fruitless work, instead of pleasing herbs and God's creation abounding. We expect death to come cause we surround our selves with it, in fact we taught generation after generation about inevitable death so now they run quicker towards it with some sort of desire to live when they get close to the edge, until one day they fall off the edge to death. Sigh.i have lots of time.

From my reference point and understanding; Jesus got rid of the Rabbinical law not the law of God, meaning the Ten Commandments. God only has one set of laws. The Ten Commandments were crafted onto stone by Gods finger! That’s the Eternal law in which he speaks ‘. The Law of Moses was wrote on paper and paper isn’t eternal (to draw comparisons). I still look up to Moses as a prophet of God and honestly a Brother in Christ. I believe Moses would’ve recognized the Messiah when he was here. Jesus (Yeshua), is my lifeline. That’s just me personally.

In Christ Jesus, our Father is within us. So, no more Prayers or fasting but His Word for Worship.
NO MORE PRAYER AND FASTING BUT “HIS WORD” TO MEET GOD.
At the time of the honest and devoted Rabbis, the Disciples of the Rabbis did what they told them to do or they were spiritually blind. But when the Rabbis had become greedy and hypocrites, then our Supernatural Father of our souls sends his own Royal High Priest Christ Jesus who introduces to us our Supernatural Father Elohim, Allah, Parbrahm and tells us that we need to have a direct approach to Him through His Word only. That is why the Curtain of the Holiest of Holy was torn from top, the Temple High Priest, to bottom, the village Rabbi off they go. This Pope and his stooges in Dog-Collars fulfil Matt 12v43-45 and they are crooks of the worst order.
So, no more alienated demiurge god of Nature or Potter Yahweh, Brahma, Khuda, etc. but the Real Supernatural Father Elohim, Allah, Parbrahm, etc. within us, the Temples of God. That is why no more prayer and fasting but worship our Father in truth and in spirit. Atheists are the best worshippers.
Further, no more Law and the Whipmaster Prophets as John, the Baptist was the Last Prophet on earth - Luke 16v16. No more Law; no more its transgression sin but transgression against the Holy Spirit called Blasphemy or hypocrisy applies.
Holy Gospel of our Supernatural Father Elohim, Allah, Parbrahm, etc., delivered First by Jesus, the First Anointed Christ = Satguru of the highest living God Elohim that dwells within our Temple of God called Harmandir or “Emmanuel”. He was the First Anointed Light from our Father and Satguru = Christ Nanak, the Second Anointed Greatest of all the Christs because he had to confront the Kings and Emperors of Darkness of Khatri tribal people (less than one percent Khatris adopted Sikhism against Jatts = Samaritans 70%) against the people of Judah tribe, the Princes of Darkness. Nanak came in 1469 and Preached Gospel to Perfection through Five more Lights for 150 years. Still, the Darkness created by Satanic Khatris turned Mullahs couldn’t be comprehended. Then, our Father Himself came in the name of Royal King = Sache Patshah Gobind Rai Ji with His Consort, Shakti, “Holy Spirit” in the name of “Maha or Sahib Devan”, the very living Holy Spirit against the mythological Devis or Shaktis of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. He organised the last two Panths of Khalsas and Nirmallae Santan to sort out the stubborn sons of Satan with sword power and by Preaching Gospel from Akal Takht, the Seat of Nirmallae Santan respectively. Annand Pur Sahib is the Seat of Khalsas and not Amritsar. That is why Sache Patshah Gobind Singh Ji never visited Harmandir Sahib but the Hindu Mandirs of Shiv to recruit his Army of Khalsas - Deh Shiva, Bundae dae Puttar, Var mohe …… is sung by the Khalsas. But the Saltless, Meehne Sodhi Khatris not only turned away the Last Sixth Satguru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Commander-in-Chief of Sikhi but they also threw away the Nirmallae Sants, Apostles, from Akal Takht as well. Apostles set up their Khahrra, spiritual wrestling gym, outside the Holiest of Holy Complex in Amritsar. Remember that Sons of God under Bhagti Marag have no authority to take the life but our Father Royal King Gobind Singh Ji, giver of Life and His Philanthropic Soldiers Khalsas, the Puritans do have the right to kill the sons of most high Satan Al-Djmar Al-Aksa.
Most of the Christians of the dead Books, the Bible even do not know who died on the Cross; Jesus or Christ? Do you know it?
Prediction based on Chosen People, a Nation of Priests, and Moral Teachers - Matt. 13v52.

    • @zimbejafari
      @zimbejafari Před 4 lety

I already answered your question, only that you want to put a blind eye on what brought Christ, The He fulfilled is the Ten Commandments which He said “If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.” - John 15:10 (KJV) and we know that those who accept Him as Lord, King and Saviour have to abide in Him and “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”- 1 John 2:6 (KJV) by keeping all 10 of the commandments.
But as for the feast days, Many in the modern day feast day movement use many out of context passages in the Word of God that appear to say the feast days were "forever" or a "perpetual" covenant. Yet the Bible doesn't declare such words to mean "eternal." The devil likes to manipulate languages and change definitions often so as to confuse the truth as it is written. Living in modern times one would think most would realize that. What I mean is, the term "bad" now means "good", the term "hot" now means "pretty" or "handsome" and the word "gay" now means homosexual.
      Notice this...
1Kings 9:3. "And the LORD said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually."
Mankind obviously messes up when they see the word "forever" and "perpetually." Here we see the Lord telling Solomon He will be in the house he built "forever" and "perpetually", yet we know the temple was destroyed twice and the last time (70AD) it was never reared up again to this day. In short, this passage alone can be used to prove feast days are not "forever" or even "perpetual" as some like to define it today.
      Also notice this.
Numbers 19:10 And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.
The red heifer is an offering for sin and a “statute for ever” is it not? That being the case, why is it feast day keepers don't kill the red heifer today? It's because they know the word "forever" is not to be applied as they apply it. But like any creed that is placed above the Bible, when the Bible exposes the creed most that write creeds choose to ignore the Bible to keep the creed. And so, when it says to kill the red heifer "forever" they ignore that; but when it says to keep the feast "forever" that they teach.
      One last thing...
We need to understand that orthodox Jews to this day still observe the feast days because they refuse to accept the sacrifice of the Messiah Jesus Christ in their behalf. When we echo their observance of these abolished ordinances today, we are doing the exact same thing as those Jews who are not moved by faith in Christ Jesus as Lord. In fact, some of the early Christians continued on with the feast days as well. How did Paul respond to this?
Galatians 4:9-11, "But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain."
After they found Christ they no longer needed to keep the feasts because knowing Him means you know what happened at Calvary and how the feasts were fulfilled there.
One more thing needs to be realized here as well. At present, we living during anti-typical day of atonement as we wait on that same Messiah Jesus Christ to return. While we wait, we must understand that this waiting time is not to be considered a time of celebration. Just as the Jews of old prepared 10 days before the day of atonement, we too must use this time to afflict our souls so as to prepare to meet our God. During this time we have been given a chance to purify our souls by the putting away of sin. Soon probation will end and that eastern sky will split and we will be called Home. Or.. if we waste this precious time we have been given to get right with our God, we will be left behind dead.
One more thing to realize about the anti-typical day of antonement we presently find ourselves in. Many fail to realize this basic reality in fact. You simply cannot keep any feast days right now because we are in the antitypical day of atonement. Look in your Bibles and you will see that NEVER in the Word of God do we read of anyone keeping two feast days simultaneously. That being the case. How can we keep the feast days while keeping the day of atonement?
NOTICE ~ Jews admit the Feast Days were Abolished!
In Acts 6:14 we read, "For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us."
One of the main reasons the Jews hated Christians was because they knew how they preached that the law of Moses was done away with at the cross. See this verses that led up to their comment in the previous passage.
Acts 6:8-15, "And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen. And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake. Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God. And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council, And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law: For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us. And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel."
This proves the early church was called of God to end the customs of Moses. Feast days are no more. This means those that come against us today for telling others not to keep the feast days have the same hateful spirit of the Pharisees. The leaders in this churches actually hate Jesus in the same way the Pharisees did. They are moving the people to deny Christ just as the Jews still do to this day.
To "suborn" a man is to convince him to make a false testimony against someone. They did this to Christ and now they did this to Stephen because they knew Stephen was "full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people." As the Word also declares they knew "they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake." And what was it they hated about his message? Besides the fact that he spoke of Jesus as Messiah, it says here that Stephen preached that the message of Jesus was one that "shall change the customs which Moses delivered us." And everyone knows that it was the "law contained in ordinances" that was delivered unto them by Moses. They also know God Himself gave the Decalogue or "ten commandments" that we still keep to this day. The "law contained in ordinances" is defined as such...
Colossians 2:14-17, "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ."
As I shared earlier on this page, this passage is speaking of the feast days. And like 2000 years ago, many people hate Christians like us that declare the feast days abolished just as Stephen, all the Apostles and Jesus Himself when He said on the cross "It is FINISHED." -John 19:30 ... This confirms the early church was called of God to end the customs of Moses. Feast days are no more.
      Bottom line is this...
The Feast days pointed to His first coming. The Lord's Supper points to His second coming. And by the way, Galatians 2:14 clearly says, "But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?" In other words, if you don't keep the ceremonial law, why do you want the Gentiles to keep it?

    Matthew 5:17
He didn’t come to cast aside the law but it to bring it to completion in Himself. He didn’t Himself disregard the law by overthrowing it, but by overcoming the law He effectively canceled it. If He had come with the purpose of throwing it down then He would not have fulfilled it, but instead the perfect Man overcame that obstacle once and for all.
If there was a mountain that a man needed to climb, He did not come to disregard that mountain, but rather to climb it and be the champion of it. In doing so He made it obsolete because He is the chief of all men and in Him all men may be made perfect.
    Colossians 2:14
    Ephesians 2:14-16
    Hebrews 10:14
The law was given to Jews, it was never given to Gentiles.
A person can believe the gospel without knowing anything about the Old Testament. If knowing and understanding the old covenant and the laws and prophets was required for understanding the gospel, it would be written in the New testament that it was required. It isn’t.

He did change it. He said the law says an eye for an eye and he said I tell you to turn the other cheek. So he went against the law.

What did he mean about till all is fulfilled? Was all is fulfilled about the world pass away along with the heaven or till fulfilled on the cross?
Till all is is fulfilled on the about said him in the law and prophets. Luke 24.

The word, "fulfilled" has been mistranslated many times. Therefore, reading the English translations of the scriptures can cause much confusion.
For example, as I said in the video, when Jesus said he fulfills the law, it means "to cause God's law to be obeyed as it should be" in the original Greek.
However, the word "fulfilled" in the passage where Jesus said not one jot or tittle of the law will pass until all is "fulfilled" is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT word in the Greek. It means, until all is completed, done. i.e. until heaven and earth pass away.
In other words, Jesus confirmed: The Torah is MORE SECURE than all heaven and earth. Heaven and earth will pass away before one of the small decorations on a single letter in the Torah passes away.

Jesus completed the law and offered himself as sacrifice as written in the prophets and the law. Isaiah 53 explains it. Luke 24. does to. Deut 24 explains how when one is married to someone to be free from the law of her husband they have to die. Jesus had the power to die raise up again . Matthew 28 says he was given all power in heaven and in earth. He even made his enemies his footstool in one place.

What does the till mean? It is a kind hold off of some thing else so it be accomplished. If heaven and earth had passed away it would not have been accomplish what he was to do cross. That is why he stated it in that sense. Christ reached his goal at the cross and said it is finished. Just like at a dinner you want to wait "till" all the get guest there before you start to eat. All God wanted was for people to get along and when they didn't he separated them. That was the way it was with the law People didn't get along with it, So made it possible through Chris to do so.

The Lord Jesus Christ came to this world to fulfill the law, not you and not me, not the nation of Israel, or anyone else. Jesus was the only one who could fulfill the requirements of God's law, and the Law of God and the prophets had written the things Jesus had to fulfilled, which He did. Luke 24:25-27, "Then He said unto them, “O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the prophets, He expounded unto them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. This my friend is how our Lord and savior Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law.

one needs to think about this verse..Mat 7:21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?'
Mat 7:23 And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.' but it is not just about keeping the sabbath and feast days which I do keep..but look at this one as well...these men were keeping sabbath and feast days but on this Day which was something else all together he told them they were not his sheep..Joh 10:22 And it was at Hierusalem the feast of the dedication, & it was winter. Do you think maybe you have to have the right heart and not to mix good with evil.I pray you come to understand

while we have a very forgiving father..and if we have a true change of heart and repent of our sins ...he will forgive usfor we all have sin,,but it seem you think we can sin and not lose our salvation..Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

He was the sacrificial lamb for humanity and by accepting through faith in his sacrifice, you will be saved by his Mercy and Grace. And if you have true faith in his sacrifice, you won’t sin.

If you have a legal contract there is two ways of getting away from it one is illegal that is to just throw it away and If you have a Mortgage on a house you could stop paying(laws) or simply pay it off and you will no longer be under the laws of the contract. In other words the contract with its laws are no longer binding on your house or you .

I agree with the speaker on what this scripture means. I believe he misunderstands their interpretation of fulfill. They are saying that he fulfilled the law like all the places where it uses the phrase " it was fulfilled ". When these prophecies were fulfilled that was it. It was done. I disagree with their reasoning. Everything that Jesus said before and after that scripture indicates that we should keep the law. How do we even know what righteousness is if there is no law?

    • @ChristopherEnoch
      @ChristopherEnoch  Před 5 lety

Yes. I believe in this way. And Christ gives me the POWER to do it. My faith comes with PROOF - works. You know that faith without works is dead. Dead faith CANNOT get you an inch toward heaven.
I used to be a slave to sin like you are. But then I realized that I AM CRUCIFIED WITH Christ. That I no longer live. My old, sinful self no longer lives, but the sinless Lamb lives through me. (Galatians 2:20) The whole reason Christ came is to give us POWER over sin - POWER to live according to God's law - by the POWER of His death and resurrection.
He gives us POWER to repent, and thus find forgiveness in accordance with God's eternal Word and Law that clearly says that repentance must come BEFORE forgiveness. Christ gives us POWER over sin by His death and resurrection. Thus, by faith we are FREED from sin, find repentance, and then God can forgive our sinful past.
His blood is NOT weak. The POWER of the cross is enough to BREAK the bondage of sin, and launch you into a life of living the way He wants you to live - without offending God by breaking His laws.
No, I am not "under the law" because Jesus set me free from sin. But you are under the Law because you are a slave to sin.
Jesus is not weak. And His grace has POWER to deliver you and KEEP you from sin.
Paul confirms in Philippians 3 that it is possible to obey the Law fully. He said, as pertaining to the Law, he is BLAMELESS. It is VERY possible to obey God's commands. God is NOT a unreasonable tyrant that barks out commands to people He knows cannot obey. God is not a merciless, ruthless tyrant that gives His beloved people commands that they cannot obey, and then slap them with grave judgements because no one can do it!
In fact, after the Torah was given to Moses, God made it clear in Deuteronomy 30 that His Laws are EASY to obey. Everyone who says otherwise is a LIAR.
John the Baptist's parents Zachariah, and Elizabeth BOTH obeyed ALL the commandments of the Lord BLAMELESSLY. (Luke 1:6)
If they can do that before the death of Jesus, how much MORE can we after!
And you say "Christ has no effect" on me? You obviously have NO CLUE what you are talking about.

God in the Old Testament didn’t get rid of His Law nor did Jesus ever say His Law would end (the Law of Christ isn’t a new Law by the way) anywhere in the New Testament so basically people are saying Paul’s inspired words of God are going against what The Father and Son taught when Jesus could’ve easily said it Himself or at least Jesus could’ve prophesied it for after His fulfillment of His first coming.

Jeffro P. Koaltrain, that statement GOD or JESUS did not get rid of the LAW simply indicates that you are not reading the BIBLE. What does Galatians 3:25 mean to you: 'Now that FAITH (in JESUS CHRIST) has come, we are NO LONGER under the supervision of the schoolmaster/tutor (LAW). If you go back to verse 19 (of the same chapter), the question was posed; Why then was the LAW given? The answer is given directly after: 'It was given alongside the promise to show people 'THEIR SINS'. The very next verse is the key to my arguement: ' But the LAW was 'DESIGNED TO TO LAST ONLY UNTIL THE COMING OF THE 'CHILD/SEED' (JESUS CHRIST) was promised. You see, the LAW given to temporarily keep the naughty children in check, so to speak, before the arrival of the (NOT JUST THE COMING OF JESUS CHRIST) but when the sinner is convicted of their many SINS, and that they now place their faith/trust in JESUS CHRIST (Romans 3:19-22). If GOD'S LAW does not change, why didn't GOD, give it to Adam and Eve directly after creation in GENESIS. IT was finally given to Moses, thousands of generations down the line. YOU may argue GOD does not change. Of course HE doesn't, but in HIS GRAND PLAN to save humanity, HE designed that there be 2 covenants, the old and the new. Pliz read John 1:17.
