  • A decision on the All England tennis club's plan to expand at Wimbledon is expected in the coming months, and has seen an interesting divide in the community. The expansion will see a new 8,000 seater stadium, 38 practice courts and public parkland built on the site of the neighbouring Wimbledon Park golf course that the All England club bought back in 2018. They say they've received an overwhelmingly positive response from locals to the plans - and London Live has heard from some of their supporters. But the two local MPs are unified in their opposition alongside nearly 9,000 signatures on a petition.
Paul's taken a look at the issue here.

Hope they focus on the new show court with a roof and the 4 extra championships match courts. Badly needed with all the rain delays in 2023. Maybe build less practice courts and keep more open space free for the public to use post championships. Compromise.

I was a bailiff on the lake , I quit because of the aeltc making it difficult to bailiff , I probably won't renew my membership next year either , I hope they never get what they want, they are bully's , all this for a 2 week tournament , get lost , they should move somewhere wheres there's enough room , how about Milton Keynes?
