@BrandonBuckingham
I did 50 days outside when i first got to austin. Lease is about to end ima go back out just to save money. Shower at the gym, charge shit and use internet at the library, keep stuff in storage unit, work full time. The weather is amazing here and the streets are pretty safe.
Brandon, I've been watching you for like 5 years and I must say you're doing it like no one else. Obviously Tommy does it like you, but you boys always been in the same shoes in my eyes. Both super entertaining interviewers and journalists. Slide to Pittsburgh sometime bro, we can bounce around the city it would be sick. Also, cold ass riders > the rest & goodjob on your addiction struggles, surpassing that issue and remaining a grinder🔥
That last guy kept it real
the cheapest studio apartments in austin are like 1000$ a month and require 3× the rent in monthly income. You need to make at least 18.75 an hour full time to afford the cheapest apartment, and minimum wage is 7.25$
Same in TN man it’s getting ridiculous you gotta work 2 jobs if you want to get an apartment and live comfortably .. and I mean full time jobs 20+ an hour
@@zackestes5958 when I was in Minnesota we had guys come up from Tennessee all the time for work, the journeyman scale down there for is 17$ I think, it's double that in Minnesota. I work at a nonprofit that helps the homeless in Austin find housing, and I'm like 1-2 paychecks away from being homeless myself 😂
San Antonian here, we have the same shit
living and being from Austin I can tell you its only getting worse. hopefully we can figure it out .
Yea, i live in Del Valle right behind the airport. If my mom dies before I get a paying job (They give me 900 a month from SSI for a disability) I'm actively working to get a job. I would make more from a basic job in 1 week with Taxes taken out then I do for a month. How they think I could live on 900 a month anywhere pretty much.... Idk. But theirs so many people on it who spit out baby's left and right (If you have a kid its like 700 per kid) They take up most the money. I'm working to get my Computer science degree and taking coding boot camps as much as I can. I hope one day Ill make a good living. I don't do good in 9/5 working life. And I don't want to actively break the law to make money even if its online. So.....
Sorry but these homeless people in Austin are a huge problem, not only to the city but to themselves. They steal everything that they have, from shopping carts to packages off peoples front porches, all they do is steal. In the winter they break into vacant buildings and inevitably burn them down causing damage to surrounding structures. Three buildings were burnt to the ground this past winter just in my neighborhood. That’s not to mention the danger they cause themselves, they walk into the street in front of cars out of nowhere. Homeless people are killed by cars every single week here, and it’s never the fault of the driver. I have personally seen a multiple dead bodies on my road, all related to homeless activity whether it be shootings or cars running into them. I guarantee you, the families of these people that actually care, if they have them, would pray to have them locked up in jail where at least they are safe and could sober up and make clear decisions.
If you disagree with this go try living off Cameron Road in Austin and see what you think then.
Exactly why I don’t visit or live there in Austin just been going down hill for years and it’s sad honestly!
It’s the world. It’s crumbling. Everything getting bad all around open your eyes.
God bless all of the homeless.
Damn, watching Roseanne on Roku after work in a tent is wild.
Dudes living good for homeless
For three years I lived in a house that looked abandoned a few blocks from UT'S campus as a student. Me and my 2 roommates payed $750/month each which is amazing in that area (West Campus). So because our house looked abandoned homeless people were always sleeping in our backyard and would leave their stuff there. But any interactions were pretty respectful one time my roommate was doing his homework with the window open and a homeless guy was sleeping in the backyard so he said "hey man can you clear out? I'm about to go to class." He said "yeah, sure. My bad" and left. One time though some homeless people did a bunch of whippets in the backyard and somehow climbed onto the second story roof.
Damn that last part is turning true
I used to think you can't just give homeless people houses. They will trash them and burn them down because many do. But these people seem like they could keep a house or apartment just fine. They are in a hole that is very difficult to get out of once your in. Very sad.
That is absolutely not the majority of homeless people here in Austin. I live off Cameron Rd I know firsthand.
You’re
Dude thinks Brandon looks 45 years old. Lol
I feel for the lady in the red top. Just something about her. Bless

Was that first guy Ice Poseidon?
I can’t watch the girl interviewing people say the word “like” one more time or I’m gonna like… gameover me.
Ermagurd i said it myself!
so these people live in a homeless outdoors hotel these days. people come bring them groceries. clean up their trash. so now the addicts can focus on whats important. getting high! great system. working tremendous!
I feel bad for them, but living in Austin for ten years has made me a little cold. The homeless people are VIOLENT around here. I used to work in an office on 7th and San Antonio and being that close to the Arc was really dangerous just walking outside of the building. They are the stabby homeless people
I worked security on 7th and red river for years, they're not that scary
The Portland of Texas
Don’t do drugs kiddos. If you do don’t do them in Texas :)
If Christ saved you and you want to help the less fortunate give to the salvation army.
First
That chin diaper is sweet
so are my nuts, as you know 😊
No different than any other place in the world. It’s all crumbling crashing down. The economy and system itself is broken
