I opent the 3th gen mt09 exhaust from the MT09 2021 SP. And I'm trying to modify it. Maybe you also like to see what's inside! questions? drop it in the comments!
I happen to think the stock exhaust looks cool. I like that it stays under the bike and doesn't do the ol' reach-around. Thanks a lot for showing us whats inside! It would look WAY cooler if it was spitting fire onto the ground
I want to keep mine quiet, attracts less attention from Johnny law! Going to flash mine and leave stock exhaust on for now....until more stuff becomes available. Akra exhaust is WAY too long, Yoshimura looks way better, will do that eventually.
I removed everything but it i think its not worth it. it was very hard to weld. i tought it wil spit flames underneeth the bike on both sides en make a better sound. they said it sounds like a cola can😂😂😂 now i upgraded the exhaust to Mivv. (aftermaket) sounds way better. Did ecu flash on changed every ridemode. now 126 HP on the wheel. crazy machine😍😍
Hello from South Korea. Could you explain or show me what have you done and how it feels till now? The garbage can is too complicated that I cant even figure out how to straight pipe it lol
Hi Max Spies thanks for the vid it was great to see. I also like the look of mine but would like just a little louder so have been looking out for ideas. I have seen a post where you drill out the x2 exhaust covers and drill an 8mm hole then replace the cover. No one can see any difference and if you want to put it back to standard you just weld the 8mm holes back up. I was also told if you want louder just go up in hole size. I have pics of that job but can't see how to send them on here??.👍
much mahalos for doing that and now I know even more so why I hate my OEM exhaust on my 2021 Yamaha MT-09 SP truly the most horrible exhaust system ever but it sounds ok‼️😂
😂😂. i have the 09SP (black). So i am going to make it a bit more noise, remove Cat. So it spits flames underneed te bike on the ground. and i am going to spray it all black. and I hope it sounds a bit better🤷♂️

From engineering point of view this factory stock is more complicated and more expensive in production than any of aftermarket offerings which you pay big $$$$ for just because of fancy sound. It is weird how people waste their money to gain some 3...5HP at cost of air pollution and getting their bikes noisier.
@ 2:00 you can see a welt arond the pipe. that welt is weldet to the catalyser. it sits around 10 cm to de left of te weld and around 3 cm to the right of thr weld

Interesting, def a good looking stock pipe. Mine will not have it.
That’s awesome!!!
Great video mate, thanks for posting!
Interesting 🤔
If i could ask what was the total weight of the stock exhaust ,as the cross section looked quite thick near the baffle exit pipes .
You’re a legend man I was wondering what it look like inside once the muffler pack and gets clogged it gets louder. I’ve noticed that with mine

more expensive to produce yes. forced to by emissions standards yes.
fun factor no.

What is the messurment of that big inner pipe? I am going to build exhaust to is it mabye 51mm or 61mm pipe ?
Is there a possibility of just drilling the rivets and pulling the two outlet pipes out?

Doesn't look like stainless to me.
Yes, it is. Stainless means it "stains less", not that it's stain proof. All SS exhausts take color like this, darkening where it's hottest.
