I hear lots of negativity towards foreigners from older generations in mainly Eastern Asia, but I disagree, i personally feel they are more relaxed and just enjoying time. My experience 🥰🥰🥰

Tokyo is on our list. Growing up a Okinawan neighbor would watch us quite frequently and at a young age I ate tons of Japanese food. Love the culture and all the many crazy things about Japan. I have a rode micro. But have moved to the rode wireless mic. Love the night out, if you come to Charleston, we can do it! Lots of breweries and cocktail lounges.

Hehe, it was nice to meet some locals. In Japan, it was a bit more difficult to have day-to-day interactions than in other countries, we found. (Now we're in India, where you have a hundred interactions a day, lol.)

Steph and Pete! I LOVE these nightlife videos! Those businessmen were so friendly! I couldn’t stop laughing when he was trying to guess where you guys are from. He listed Norway, Ukraine, Canada etc. 😂😂😂. I can’t wait to go check out Izakayas!!! So fun!

Thank you! We love making them! It's a treat to make a video without looking after Hays. Of course, we'd choose traveling with him, but documenting without him is certainly easier (though way less entertaining.) Nice to have a night alone every once in awhile. The grandparents are coming to India in about a month, so more babysitting on hand! :)

I just finished watching this video. I rated your videos as the best of all the Western videos I've seen. Wow. You're from Tennessee and the UK. I've been in both for a short period of time, so maybe I was attracted to you in some way. In particular, the people of Tennessee took care of me. It was related to Tennessee Meiji Gakuin in Sweetwater, which is now closed. The people in Tennessee were so kind that I was always on the verge of tears. Anyway, thanks for sharing how you two enjoyed Ueno Ameyoko (I actually live near there). I enjoyed it a lot. Take care, Stay well you guys. And good luck for Hays' future.

Aw, Yutaka, what a lovely comment!! That's very cool that you've spent time in both the UK and Tennessee. Have you visited Chattanooga? That's where we're from. Ueno Ameyoko was one of our favorite neighborhoods we saw during our whole time in Japan. So vibrant! Thanks for watching our videos.

12:00 No, he's NOT "super friendly." You are simply feeling the contrast between Japanese social etiquette, which is group based, and American social etiquette, which is individual based. In the eyes of the Japanese, Americans act incredibly selfish. Japanese are so sensitive about interactions with others.

Please don't get tricked by Japanese "friendliness." They all go into "sudden friendly mode" because:
    1. They don't feel threatened because they know that you are tourists and will be leaving Japan soon.
    2. They want free Engrrrrrish lessons. Japanese are notorious for ignoring or getting very angry at foreigners who attempt to speak Japanese.
