I'm planning on posting a video about that soon. Something similar can be done with Google Earth images by manually georeferencing the image. It's not as accurate as using a projection file that is already associated with the imagery, but for most uses it would probably be accurate enough.
You should assign the coordinates to the site point not project base point.
