  • Welcome to Immy & Tani. We are a full time travel family and have been traveling since 2020. In this time we have visited over 10 countries and are finally in IRAN! Today is our first OFFICIAL day in Iran and we decided to change our hotel to something more traditional. We start our day by checking in to Razzaz boutique hotel, which we found to be extremely beautiful. We enjoyed a complimentary breakfast before heading out to explore the raw streets of Tehran. The first stop we make is Tajrish bazaar.
Tajrish bazaar includes a roofed passageway through which thousands of people pass en route to paying pilgrimage to Emamzadeh Saleh or to the Bazaar for purchasing goods. Quaint passageways rebuilt from hundreds of years ago - open 9 am to 9 pm seven days a week - are home to merchants of every kind of food, electronics, clothes, gold and silver jewelry, religious artifacts, artwork and household goods, all next to each other, in no particular order, lit by a combination of incandescent and daylight sneaking in through the roof. In this bazaar we meant the most hospitable Irani locals and tried Irani street food for the first time.
Our second stop was to the Bab Homayoon Tourism Passage. This is located at the Imam Khomeini Square. The other name for this place is
ToopKhāneh. It was built in 1867 by an order of Amir Kabir and Commissioned in 1867. After the Iranian Revolution, it was renamed Imam Khomeini Square (میدان امام خمینی).

Irani's are the most cultured and sophisticated people in our region there is no doubt we have learned a lot of cultural things ( adab, adaab, classic poetry, ghazal, music, etc from Iranians long back. I have noticed they are not copycat, they literally proud of their rich culture and their traditions - They are gem, we should still learn a lot from them.

The half or more than half of Pakistan and Afghanistan once used to be part of Persia, no wonder why Pakistani looks like Irani or Iranian looks like Pakistani that is an old DNA that we all carry till today and that reflect on our faces. Later we had Duranian (Durrani) Empire (Persians) that empire stretched from Afghanistan up to Sindh. That was another phase of exposure that many Persians moved and settled here, and many of our people moved there. No wonder why many of our cultural things are common among. In the recent past we have exchanged many habits even Persian language that once used to be the official language of the Land. As we too were the part of Greater Persia or Persian Empire. There is no doubt about that Iranians are our first cousins

Masha'Allah, lovely vlog episode. Betay ji could you kindly provide more details on how to go to Iran? From visa to bookings, travel etc . That would be very helpful. Thanks.
PS: It's interesting to know the name of the wrestler Zaal 😊 In Firdawsi's "Shah Nameh " (the great classical Persian epic ) Zaal was the father of Rustem. Nice to meet a literary reference.

We had the same confusion regarding currency (toman, rial, exchange rate) the first days in Iran. Once you travel longer you get used to prices and understand the difference. But man ... the first days are crazy! happy that you got some help from those friendly ladies :)
