- Brad Carlton (Don Diamont) proposes to Ashley Abbott (Brenda Epperson) in 1990, on the Young and the Restless. He uses an innovative "rap" song ("When Will You Say Yes"). This was a fun, goofy departure from the then-usually-serious Y&R. Thanks to Usenet poster Travlr for sending the video.
I was obsessed with Brad as a teen, 30+ years ago. I must have watched that proposal rap hundreds of times on VHS. So funny watching it again after all these years!
Is whopping six week marriage to Cassandra Rawlings was to die for !! Oh..Poor choice or words !! 🤣🤣 My favorite marriage storyline with Ashley was when she was married to the wrong twin !!
Brenda & Don worked so well together. So did Eileen & Don, just a different dynamic.
Eileen and Don were a actual couple, in real life. Way before he met his wife. I think Don best chemistry was with Eileen.

It always amazed me at how quickly people moved up on this show, you can go from having no college or business experience to an executive job with a big corporation,Brad started out as the Abbot's gardener then winds up with a big job in the family business,same with Jill who has always been nothing but a gold digger trying to snare a sugar daddy in spite of who gets hurt in the process,gets with John Abbot and goes from being a nobody loser to a big job at Jabot ,definitely not how the real world works.
Jill worked at Jabot as a make up artist before marrying John. She was well verse in cosmetic application that impressed John something that attracted him towards her besides many other things. Unlike Brad, Jill had knowledge of Jabot and what the job was all about. Brad was brought in by Jill to be a distraction while she plot and scheme to move up the ladder at Jabot.
From what I heard l, Jill didn't start out as a gold digger. She initially was helping to support her family. She helped her brothers Greg and Snapper get thru school and worked as a manicurist to help support her mother.

@@timwilliams6111 Right On! Also Brad first worked for The Abbotts as a Gardener, then managed The Shipping Room at Jabot. Victoria didn't go to College but she started out in The Mailroom then less than a Month Later created Brash & Sassy. The only two Legitimate College Graduates were Neil Winters & Ryan McNeil. Remember they both started out in The Mailroom, then applied for the Sales Executive Training Program then moved to Newman Enterprises. Ryan however never was allowed to be on The Board unlike Neil.
If the executive thing hadn't worked out Brad could of had a career as a MC lol

In person Brenda is nice. When I first met her, I asked if I could take a picture of her? Her response was sure. Would you like to get in the picture with me? Same response as Don Diamont
On the other hand, Eileen was a snob to me, meeting her in person
