    I remember seeing the blue one being built. Love Doug’s builds. Mine goes back to Doug next year for some work.

    A video about a check list and what to check and how to check them before a run will be a great video !

      It’s a video we have to do for sure. I have my check but we will talk to a few shops to get some more ideas and out that video together here in the future

    Hell yeah! Stoked to see this! I would love to know the pros and cons of the 3 link kit, could it be a daily driver. Keeping to stock fuel tank and the insane travel is very enticing!

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Před rokem +1

      If you look at the blue truck, that’s a perfect example of a more daily friendly build out back. Capable truck for sure and can do both things. Only drawback is weakness in the frame. While the suspension can do a lot, the frame and cab can’t. Not without a cage to add the rigidity it needs and safety required because at those speeds when things go wrong, they do wrong bad.

    • @dynamicweaponsolutions
      @dynamicweaponsolutions Před rokem +3

      I drive the blue one 99 percent of the time. It’s a fine daily driver.
      The con is it’s not a 4 link. The 4 link setup will
      Be closer to 32 inches of travel. And less sway in the rear which is hard to explain compared to a 4 link

    • @97ihdiesel
      @97ihdiesel Před rokem +3

      Both a 3 link and 4 link kit is going to work the same. The difference will be the axle moving left to right through out the travel with a 3 link. Sway is all control with a sway bar and proper setup. I daily drive a 4 link truck on 40s and spool and zero issues there is also many ways to build these trucks with a fuel cells behind the axle and keep it all emissions compliant.

      Do you have a custom axle? Most guys I’ve seen with the custom axles have it locked so you get the funky chirping of the tires on the street on every turn.

    Use a Cadillac Trunk latch, it's really easy to set up, it pulls itself tight.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Před rokem

      Not sure that would hold up with all the weight and vibrations this truck will see.

    • @chrismannifield3222
      @chrismannifield3222 Před rokem

      Well seeing as the door is supported by struts, the latch isnt going to carry all that weight.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Před rokem

      Very true, but the struts have some play in them when not active. If the tires were not up top, it would definitely work. But because of the weight of the tires I think it would fail. We did not do a closeup, but if you look closely, you can see that the manual pin used now has worn away at the metal a bit already. And that’s much stronger tubing and stainless panels. Even if 2 latches were used, the vibrations of off-roading at the high speeds this truck can hit will cause them to fail.

      @Keep It Dirty Off-Road possibly the cab latch off of a LMTV or MTV(m1090 and such)
      Look for it at Midwest military equipment, it's a hydraulic latch.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Před rokem

      That’s a very beefy latch and could work.

    • @97ihdiesel

      @@dynamicweaponsolutions because no one’s front kits pull the travel numbers they claim the math doesn’t lie unless the LCA are stupid long and your running around with 96-98” track width to get the proper motion ratio on the lower arm is only way your getting 16+ inches of wheel travel with 10” stuff. Now Chevy have a frame that is 1.5” narrower roughly per side why kits like Izzy fab pull 17+ on there front of there trucks. Rear link setup same think a 16” stroke shock can only stroke so much when the motion ratio of the trailing arm only allows it to move X amount. There is very basic math and geometry to figure out with in 1” of the travel on the front and rear with a tape measure on measure LCA and also trailing arms to get a ratio to what is the max potential of a setup with leaning shocks into the cab and having then less then 90* at full bump. Everyone gets all horny and excited for numbers most kits are pulling 12-14” of actual wheel travel on the front and majority are thinking they have 16+. Properly tune setups make a world of difference. But travel numbers sell so they sell it based on no shocks is my guess and what it’ll cycle metal to metal.
