無理なこじつけで妄想する私でも これは・・・・お手上げです（笑）
お父さんが思案に暮れるのが よく解ります。
仰るように子供が遊動円木（ご存じないかなぁ）のように跨るのに丁度いい太さですね。
皮剥いて・・・何か浮かんでるのでしょうか・・・楽しみです。
硬い樫の磨き上げた肌は素敵でしょね！

最近はとんと見かけなくなりましたが、懐かしい遊具ですね♪

I have milled lots of White Oak but have not had any with that much salting. good looking Oak.

It is a very interesting tree ☆(*^_^*)
Its unlike any white oak in the states has lots of spalt that developes before the tree rots gives it great character i would cut a slab with the opening and incorporate slats into it that are spaced apart would make a awsome bench.

Also spalted maple is used for making electric guitar bodies: the wood must be stabilized in most cases.
I beg to differ. Spaulted oak is very valuable here in the US
