Derek, great video. Zamberlans are best boots made- period. I am 62 and grew up in Colorado using many types of boots, but it wasn't until I moved to Delaware USA that I finally bought a pair like yours, and also bought the Tofanes. I hike hundreds of miles every year and don't take care of my boots that well, BUT, I have no problems. They are waterproof and incredibly comfortable, I actually was in a 36-mile hike in one day and ran a bit during it, and never got a blister, even though the boots were only a few weeks old. Everyone I know that owns a pair of Zamerlan's LOVEs them. Thanks again. Cheers!

Thanks for the boot review. I just purchased from Amazon the Zamberlan boot and hiked Big Bend National Park in Texas. These are awesome.

I'm so glad you did this review! I particularly found the part where you explain how you care for your boots really helpful. Another awesome video Derek!

@@falconlips5474 Apply a few thin coats of bees wax and buff regularly and they will not only never ever get water logged but just bead off everything. Patience breaking them in and like everyone I know you will treasure them.

@@FZ-TAS Nice one. Any need to do this out the box or just wear them a bit first?

    • @FZ-TAS
      @FZ-TAS Před rokem

@@falconlips5474 Out of the box and regularly especially in wet muddy hikes. They are really heavy duty and come into their own with a heavy pack. They are as you would have noticed very stiff and are exceptional re footing when scrambling. At their worst when new but just continue to get better . Some people just need to be patient breaking in :)

    Hi Derek,
one problem I found with hiking boots is that most can't cope with salt water, the soles fell off mine very quickly as the salt destroyed the glue so I bought neoprene wading boots instead which aren't as comfortable but will last in salt water and they're very cheap at only NZD$80 a pair
    Cheers

I have an outdoor job where I walk six miles per day. My Zamberlans make this possible. They are outstanding.

    Hello!
I'm a fan of full leather, nubuck or suede shoes. I've had brands like Boreal and Bestard but they no longer make my favorite models or they've gone bad.
I mostly hike in low and medium high mountains (500-2000m) mainly in spring, summer and autumn in temperatures between -5 and 30 degrees Celsius.
I have two questions about yours Zamberlan Hiking Boots:
    1. Won't I be too warm with them in temperatures above 20 degrees Celsius?
    2. Looking at many videos about the model, I think the sole is a bit firmer than most hiking/trekking boots, but not as firm as a classic crampon winter boot. From this point of view, I want to ask, don't they tire the foot a lot after a 15+ km hike?
Thanks in advance for your reply!

Did you notice that light on the left side of the screen that keeps appearing? There is no sunlight anywhere else and this light seems to move about. Look at 6:30 into the video.

It is in the edit, Im going to guess that this will have to do with the way Derek composed the edit. 17 min video most probably is 25mins recording minimum and then assembled after

Is the gray section under the arch hard and slick or is it rubberized? Concerned since I'd be using it to climb ladders.

They are overpriced junk. I own a pair of these and the soles consistently fall off. I've glued the crap out of them, but I'm done with this company. I have boots I have spent much less on that lasted longer.
