I am glad I found your youtube channel. Great discussion and thanks for the recommendation of other similar books - that is an amazing way to explore more books.
Interesting to hear your thoughts on the book. I'm really impressed by the translation.
Very nice discussion.
Have you read Fosse? If so, what did you think?
Cheers, Jack
@@ramblingraconteur1616 I have, yes. The first book I read was Septology, this was back in February 2023. After that I read Trilogy followed by Aliss At The Fire.
The first impression is to me Fosse us trying to perfect the same novel over and over again using slightly different but connected approaches such as the names of the characters, the idea of memory being elusive, the concept of doppelgangers. I like this. In a way it was like he was building up to Septology gradually.
Regarding Septology specially, I liked it a lot but I also found the repetitiveness (which was a theme) tedious at times. Appreciated the simplicity of the writing but somehow couldn't love it as much as I wanted to. I do want to reread it because it has stayed with me all this time, keeps coming back to me.
@@Paromita_M thanks for sharing. The link between memory and potential repetition was introduced in the first part. I’ll have to take a look at the middle book.
Brilliant analysis.
I have come to realize that, for whatever reason, I fell into the Septology emotionally and I ceased to really try to analyze it. Any analysis I did came after completion.
Please, do let me know, are the other books by Fosse (I have read Septology) so full of Christian parts ?
No… stream of consciousness… no! 😂
This only adds to the good things I’ve heard about these books but I’m not ready to go there yet.
