Based on the hints Jimin gave, I think this song is a continuation of their song The Truth Untold, what is based on an old 16th-17th century Italian love story in the city, "la Citta di smeraldo". The story is about a man who didn't dare confess his love and the object of his love died and he have to live alone. Now in this song, Jimin urges you to tell about the feelings of love and not to hide them. Blue and white flower Smeraldo is a fictional flower developed by bts universe.

Asian Entertainment does a great breakdown of this. All I can say it reminded me about what BTS did after covid ... joyful music to cheer us up after we had been going through a hard time. ARMY has had to witness smear campaigns and attacks on BTS znd Hybe whilst they were absent in the militairy. Confusion and uncertainty. Then Jimim song came on, I did not realise how much I needed it till I smiled the whole time and was left noticeably lighter. BTS as therapy again. They do that. Balance the light and the dark.

Hey Twins! I think that BTS is able to feed us the way they do because as a group they consist of 7 massively talented members; plus BTS when they come together ... so we get 8 actual entities with different "feels" and vibes. Notice how all 3 of the rappers have a different sound; all 4 singers have different vibes; which also doesn't necessarily sound like BTS as a whole. I believe this is why we say that BTS is their own genre because BTS truly is greater than the sum of its parts. BTS' individual members have their own preferences for specific genres ... or two, or three, or five, to infinity and beyond! There's so much variety available.
By the way, Twins, I think that is Jimin's voice as the announcer at the beginning.

This is so Jimin. I love the song and it is a continuation of "The Truth Untold." He's basically saying don't hide your feelings, be honest with them all the time. He was putting the people together to make sure they didn't lose that opportunity like in TTU. It's brilliant really. Jimin is growing and I'm so very happy for him and all of us. Smeraldo Garden Marching Band is what Jimin, PDogg, GHSTLOOP and Evan named themselves while working on Face album. They told us about it in the quiz video which was released as an addition to Jimin's album making documentary (I don't think you watched it though).
This song isn't really my vibe but it made me smile a lot. 🙂 Can't wait for his full album.
I also thought it wasn't my type, but now I am continuously listening to it. It has a very happy and dancing vibe.

Their debut was 2 days. First day, the day they first came face to face with ARMY, was June 12 @ 5pm @ MelOn Showcase,the second and final day was June 13 @Mcountdown. They successfully completed both stages with their final debut performance on June 13, making that date their actual debut date. Jimin has talked about stepping onto their first debut stage on June 12, seeing the fans there in the front row near the camera gave him the courage to perform. So Jimin saying "it all began on June 12" is extremely important and meaningful 💜

June 12 is BTS first showcase, when they performed on stage for the very first time and meet Army (the video was aired the day after, officialy debut day) and you casn see Jimin made the BTS's greeting gesture with his hand. The smeraldo flower is the symbolic flower in the BU, (the secret the boys have to keep) and in The Truth Untold. Now, Jimin is free , he doesn't hide behind a mask anymore. Also, Smeraldo Garden Marching band is the name that Jimin, Pdogg, Evan and Ghsloop gave to themselves during the Face writing process (he talk about in his live about Face Diary production). I love the vintage fairytale vibes of this song, the melody, the bright, happy, sunny side of it, I can't help but smile each time I listen to the song :)

I was actually thinking the same thing, that many army has now mentioned, in reference to the Beatles album, as inspiration. For me, an excellent clue already happened in the vid: “A Day with Jimin in NYC by vogue, (perhaps you might want to watch it), which was basically a behind the scene, filmed during the time Jimin debuted “Like Crazy” on Fallon show! It showed Jimin, before going to a dance practice, rehearsing Like Crazy for Fallon tonight show, going to a record store, along with producer Pdogg who not only worked along side of Jimin throughout both albums FACE & MUSE, where Jimin pulled out that very record by the Beatles Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club album! It seemed at the time a bit out of place, sort of unexpected? Now I wonder if it was planted there? I would think that that album might be highly collectible and not amongst a pile of records. But who knows? The background, as many have also mentioned, does also have a teletubbies feel about it! 🤔🧐😅👍❤🔥😍

None of the rap line would have been available when he did this. Two were already serving, and RM was doing RPWP.

To me when I first heard and saw the MV, I was immediately thinking Sargent Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, it just took me there. I loved how he brought younger kids and adults to the MV, just felt like he was connecting with all ages, and that you can be happy together. There is a simple joyfulness in this song and his delivery that just makes you smile when you hear it. An honest love for his roots and where he is now. And while I would love any of the rap line from BTS to do Locos part, I almost think that he chose Loco for his somewhat softer less aggressive and higher vocal delivery. It’s like there is no angst or negativity here, just a happy tune to share with ARMY. It’s a wonderful gift that I appreciate.

i was smiling the whole way through the first and second time watching it. but it wasn´t my favorite song but today i keep humming it. it´s getting adictive quick. and when you look at all the love that he is giving army in this video. like the singlanguage and all ages that are representated in this video it´s so beautiful and wholesome.

To me loco was perfect for this collab maybe because i already knew of him. He really fit well with jimin and this song's vibe. I also thought his lyrics had continuity, most of the time in rap collab parts the lyrics often don't match what was being sung about till then, but locos part fit well with the song's lyrics and overall vibe. This song does have a wizard of the oz vibe and i love it.

The seven-song LP MUSE, due out on July 19 KST (July 18 in other time zones), will feature the intro song “Rebirth,” as well as “Interlude : Showtime,” the pre-release song “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” (featuring Loco), “Slow Dance” (featuring Sofia Carson), as well as “Be Mine,” “Who”, (single can now be purchased as presale aside from 2 versions MUSE album), and “Closer Than This” (which dropped in December.)
Jimin, 28, wrote six of the songs, according to a release, composed, also finally listed as one of the producers for most of his songs, (though shown in Jimin’s documentary his involvement in producing all his songs), which also noted that the announcement from BIGHIT Music featured a vintage feel via images of old-school cassette tapes representing each song, with an overarching theme of “love” connecting all the tracks.
The hip-hop/R&B-leaning focus song, “Who,” was produced by Grammy-nominated singer/producer Jon Bellion, along with Pete Nappi, Tenroc, Pdgogg and GHSTLOOP, with a vibe described as “intense bounce and guitar sound.” In addition, the pre-release song “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” draws inspiration from marching bands, “blending hip-hop elements with the big band sound characterized by a large-scale orchestra, creating an upbeat, lively rhythm and dynamic atmosphere thanks to an assist from South Korean rapper Loco.”
Other contributors to the album include Tommy Brown (Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber), as well as producers Pdogg, GHSTLOOP and EVAN, who also worked on Jimin’s first solo album, 2023’s FACE, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Jimin’s official solo debut came with the 2018 single “Promise.” Five years later, he became the first South Korean soloist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Like Crazy,” followed by FACE‘s “Set Me Free, Pt. 2” reaching No. 30 on the chart.

For those that have fallen into our beloved BU rabbit Wormhole... it's even more exciting as Jimin has taken the opening step in progressing the story where we last saw the last tragic view of the Smeraldo flower. The Smeraldo Garden Marching Band is the name they gave themselves for fun when they were working on FACE and this album (Jimin, PDogg, Ghstloop and Evan). You see them together at the beginning of the video.

lemme tell you the story behind the song in case you don’t know! bc there’s a story behind this song actually and even behind the title of it! "smeraldo" is the name of a fictional flower. this song is like the happy ending of the story that inspired bts’ song "the truth untold": "la città di smeraldo" tales place in a small town in Italy in the 1500s-1600s. it's a story about an ugly man who hides in an old castle alone. bc of his looks he got a lot of hate while growing up and he never opened his heart to anyone, even if anyone ever tried he simply hides in anger. his happiness was the plants and flowers of his garden. one day, a woman appeared near his castle and she jumped over the garden and took a flower when he was sleeping at night. this actually kept happening many nights and finally, one day the man pretended to be asleep and watched this woman who was stealing his flowers, but he didn't get mad on her and was waiting for her every night to come back and steal flowers. and one day after following her, he realized she was selling the stole flowers for living. then the man desperately wanted to help the woman. but he was afraid she could be terrified by the way he looks, that she will not like his looks and will never come here again. so he came to a conclusion to let her steal flowers so he can see her everyday. the man decided to make a flower that doesn't exist on this planet. so the woman can seek them at a huge price. he began to make the flower in his garden. and after many unsuccessful attempts, the man finally made the flower for his love
called "Smeraldo Flower". but the woman suddenly stopped coming. no matter how long he was waiting the woman never showed up. he was so upset & later he eventually found out that the woman had died. he didn't got the courage,and lost his only love there. BTS used this "Smeraldo flower" so many times to represent this beautiful love too! this song is like a happy ending for them that they never got in the original story! hope that helps you understand! :)
