The drill platoon from the 3rd Company of His Majesty the King's Guard does a routine and training session in Huseby military camp.
The soldiers in the video are all conscripts who serve for 11 to 12 months in a platoon considered to be one of the very best military drill platoons in the world. Although they serve in a more ceremonial company, and do not guard the royal family or the royal residences, they still get their combat training and qualify as good infantrymen.
    - A proud unit with a proud history.

For all non-norwegians; This is our kings guard, not our army. They stand for the symbolic meaning of respect and discipline. They are to protect our king, practically protecting the 'castle' from drunk civilians. These people would not be used in combat, though there are sections in the kings guard that they would use, who gets Jeger training. But those shown in this video, are only to show an art of war, a symbol of honor, respect and discipline.

***** If you think this is dancing, you're an idiot. It's a show of discipline, and considering that this is the King's Guard their job is to serve as a symbol of discipline.

Flammablerock The King´s Guard is the biggest battalion in the norwegian army with about 1000 soldiers, officers and NCO´s divided into 6. companies. Of them only the 3rd guards company are trained only in ceremonial duties. The drill platoon, the music platoon and the signal platoon. In total around 150 guardsmen and officers. The rest of the battalion are infantry. Training regular combat and guard duty at about a 50/50 ratio. so in conclusion...they are army.
