  • Hey Cruisers, We are just off our wonderful Royal Caribbean cruise on Harmony of the Seas, and while we were onboard we were so impressed with Royal Caribbean's room service that we decide to make a little video explaining how room service works on Royal Caribbean. We'll walk you through ordering room service on Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas step by step, give you a peek at the Harmony of the Seas room service menus, and show you the food we ordered. If you're curious about how room service works on Royal Caribbean, then this video is for you.

Added notes on Room Service from a Suite:
    * the 7.95 charge and extra gratuities are waived
    * you can order from the MDR menu at all times but you will HAVE to call to get this menu because it is not part of the tv screen options
    * Drinks still aren't offered (outside of lemonade and water and OJ in the mornings) so it's a good plan to fill up your cups before getting back to the room if you wanted something else.
    MY THOUGHTS:
I friggin love room service! Aside from the fact that it's a treat I normally can't afford on land based vacations not having to rush out for food in the morning before a port day or wandering around for a snack when I'm tired is great. Also, multi tasking! I once had my mom place an order for a quick lunch while I hopped in the shower - food was there and still warm by the time I got out and I didn't have to wait to dig in!

On our 23 day transpacific with Royal we ordered room service every morning. It just seemed to work better in getting out of bed, eating, THEN getting ready for the day before leaving our room. We just ordered light ... coffee, fruit, and yogurt type of thing - just enough to feel better about not having to get presentable just to get a coffee even

After my first meal, I learned the portions were a bit small for my taste so I just doubled up lol. I have my next cruise in December, and I'll def do it even with the $8 fee. Especially breakfast, as long as my girlfriend doesn't mind 😂

I guess you get what you pay for. We travel Azamara - Royal Carib's upper tier. I don't know if you can order via TV, but there is no surcharge, ever, or tipping. Very broad selection of food, from shrimp platters, to cheese platters, to burgers, pasta, salads. AND, when it arrives, there is a table cloth put down, meals are plated out for you. Sadly, I've been spoiled, and refuse to travel any other way. (Yes, there is a liquor charge in the room, even though alcohol is included throughout the ship at the bars, or in the dining areas.)

If i wont the multimillion lottery i would love to live on their cruise ships for a year traveling.
Room service was great. I have some bathroom pet peeve and the guy serving didn't make me feel weird for asking for more floor mat(needs to be dry). I had internal struggle when i have to ask for cleanup. To my surprise, he replaced exactly the amt of floor mat in their origianal locations. Im only a normal balcony customer not suite or whatever and got such treatment.

I do NOT to this day agree with the auto-gratuities (tips) added to your cruise. When I first started cruising back in 1990, we always allocated cash we brought with us and on the last night of the cruise, give those envelopes to crew we dealt with on a daily basis during our cruise that we felt deserved it like waiters, assistant waiters, cabin stewards and the Maitre D'. It felt more personal. Now, the crew just expect it automatically and I have noticed a decline in service since. Sure, you can wait in mine at the customer service/pursers desk to remove individual tips but why should I have to work on vacation?

Higher quality than some cruise lines “free” room service. The fact that they include more variety - hot food, salmon, pasta, etc makes it more “worth it” vs. the only option being low quality room service items. If there's going to be a phone call to confirm an "online" TV order then there's limited value in placing that order on the TV. You might as well call in the first place.

One of the biggest ships in the world, 2 flo-riders, a casino, laser tag, a zip line, 22 bars, 20 pools and tubs, a basketball court, crazy golf, a slide, a sports bar, a boardwalk, a rising bar, a casino yet people order room service for their room.

Hmm, $7.95 charge with an 18% gratuity? Isn't room service on most cruise lines complimentary? I guess they have to pay for their amusement park rides somehow.

I agree. We were just on HAL and it's free. Perhaps a bit limited from RCI but they did have an omelet and scrambled eggs for breakfast and we just wrote in a couple items not on the menu - plain yogurt and banana and it was always delivered. You can even get dinner off the main restaurant menu delivered free but you have call by a certain time (5:30PM?). I would never order yogurt and juice and pay $10! I'll walk upstairs and get that myself.
