- Day by day i unveil something else thats wrong with the Lamborghini Murcielago that i bought to rebuild. Its hard to work out why and how all if these thing happened but i found some footage on CZcams of the Murcielago being driven 14 years ago and some things start to make perfect sense!

About your question at 7:55, I think the passenger door isn’t in a different colour : it might even be in the Murcielago’s factory colour ! It’s just that the whole car except that door was wrapped with the hideous peeling greeny-thing you took of a couple vids ago. That could explain why the badge is missing while the quarter panel is intact ; it is because it’s already covered up with filler and covering !
But that’s just my hypothesis…

good point. that would explain why the badge is missing at the time of that pic. the door dent could have been filled and wrapped after that pic was taken.

I was the driver when the damage happened to the rear quarter it was a wheel off another car that came off and hit the Lambo when it was stationery, I dunno about the door tho

That was rough to both see and hear, they used to say grind it to find, and it is a gearbox not a duke box. But a few of other drivers really did hammer that gearbox. ouch.
Matt, while I look forward to seeing the gearbox in pieces - I dont envy the cost it might incur. You are becoming a legend of my youtube experience. - purely for the adventures with cars you show us all.

Any chance you can do a measurement of the Gear lever in the gear control tower.. They are 2k plus vat. I want to get a machinist to make some up for an egear to manual conversion. i Have most of the gear control tower stuff bar the lever. Also the levers are prone to breaking, so would be good to have spares available without the lambo tax.

Hey Mat, i love your videos i am watching every video that you upload. So, remember when Tavarish was helping you with murcielago, so he bought another one, and maybe he can give you that rear bootlid vent that you need, and also headlights, but i think he needs them

I owned a 71 Datsun 240z manual, and listening to those gear's is like pulling teeth at the dentist YIKES!!!! it's painful to hear it.
Sometimes it's better not to know what a car's been through, certainly painful to watch.
Still it explains to some extent why certain thing's are now broken.

Matt I drove that lambo at York years ago. Had a right laugh. The instructor told me to give it some then got a bollocking as I was racing the pro drivers and keeping up with them. Will see if I can find the in car footage for you

I think you should do a ZF 8 speed into it when it’s up and running, you’ll definitely be the first to do it and will make it super super quick.
Hi. Actually used to work at the place where they used to run these experience days and remember a green murcielago 😯 If it had an ass hole it would be like the grand canyon as it got absolutely buttf**ked. Does not surprise me it was left in pieces hidden away. I remember the side getting filled in, was abit of a damp day, and some Rolf Harris looking character was grinding that clutch. Out of nowhere on a long left hander. A herd of deer came out from the trees, ran straight onto the track, one poor guy stubbed his hoof on the kerb, did a rolly polly and got his head stuck in a cone. Was frantically flailing about to get it off. Then flung it about 25meters straight into the side of the murci. I remember they didn't have any filler in the garage, so Doug nipped to the spar and got afew packets of 25p noodles, super glued them in there and gave it a sand over, lick of emulsion, good as gold 👌

So about 14 years ago when I was 6, I was walking through a park one night, or so I thought, little did I know I was at bruntingthope. I was playing with the orange cones having fun, put the cone over my head and walked into a massive green metal thing. Left a massive dent it did, heard this ching and noticed a 6.2V12 badge on the floor and thought ‘I’ll have that’, replaced it with a stick and coloured it in with sharpe in grey. Now, 14 years later, I reckon I’ve finally worked out that it was this very murci was the ‘massive green metal thing’, hence the dent and lack of badge on yours Mat. Loves your vids if that helps pay for what I did 🫠

With body shell cut to get to the gearlever adjustment, one wonders if the gear crunch lead to the need to adjust or is result of adjustment.... Either way adjustment may need inspection and possible readjusting

If I was rebuilding cool cars like this I'd be tempted to have it dry-ice cleaned while everything was out of it for a nice like new finish. That came to mind when I saw the gearbox.

Is that why they cut the hole in the transmission tunnel to stop that crunching? As for dent on the door, I did a track day experience and the car was damaged because one of the other track day drivers had backed another car into it! Is the side skirt damaged too?

Ah it's Bruntingthorpe! I used to learn to fly in Leicester and Bruntingthorpe is my waypoint and I fly through it almost everyday! During my practical test my examiner even asked me to do a simulated emergency landing at there LOL, can't believe they sold you a bad car ahhaha
