  • This video is to show you that the GA-866 Jujube is self fertile. It can use its own pollen to pollinate itself.

Thanks for the video. Your tree looks very healthy. What fertilizer do you feed the tree and how often you water it? I just ordered a GA866 tree and a sugar can tree. Thanks again.

Thank you. I use the synthetic 16-16-16 general fertilizer from homedepot. I feed it every 3 months starting from when it comes out of dormancy to harvest.

No tree is self pollinate. It is the bees, wasp, flies, butterfly, and ants that pollinate your tree . They say jujube is pest free.

Might have miss spoken in the video but it’s self fertile for sure. There are flowers that self pollinate such as some varieties of dragon fruit where the stigma touches the anthers where the pollen are at; hence, self pollinating.

Not that I’m aware of. I think it has to be self fertile because a lot set. I did hear that ga866 needs cross pollination but my tree seems to be self fertile.
Check out my latest ga866 video and you can judge.
