  • In this video I show how I installed a WR Long 3rd function kit (hydraulic control valve) on our LS MT357 tractor. I’m sure this will be accurate for all mt3 series LS but I am not 100% sure about other ls models but I bet they would be similar. I do plan to run a grapple and I’m curious to see how well this compact tractor will run a front end brush hog when we get one. More vids to come!
    Equipment:
    LS MT357HC Tractor
    Ruggedmade RS-737 wood splitter
    Hustle X-one zero turn mower

After watching your video three times to do my third function on my MT 342... I also realized I also forgot to put the in- line fuse in. Lol
Great video thanks for the help. Saved me around $550 based off what the dealership quoted me.

Hey, great job! I did the same job on our XP8101CPS. Just a thought, but maybe you can(use a longer bolt if necessary and) add the hydraulic tube bracket from the tube you took off(pictured at 16:23 on the video!) to the threaded bracket holding the original bucket curl hoses. Thanks for the detail in your video, happy new year!

There's nothing more satisfying than a clean install that ACTUALLY WORKS when you close it all up and test it out. Great job and it's good to see a new video. Can't wait to see what you do on your farm with that grapple come spring time!

Thanks for the idea of putting a toolbox on the passenger step! I never get in or outta that door either. That's really a great idea! : )

Great job. Wanting to do this to mine to save around $400 and this is a big help. About how much hydraulic fluid did you have to add once it was done?

Great job! I bought the shuttle shift model MT357 last July and may refer to your video, if I decide to install a 3rd function.

I think you did a better job, than my installer did.

Thank you sir! You said in another comment that the hoses are rubbing your hood and the tire is getting into the hoses…..
I would recommend routing the hoses through that sheath on the loader. That should take care of the hood issue.
If you are running the same kit as me I would just copy my routing. I have no clearance or rubbing issues.

How many GPM will it do?

That looks great, I like the handle modification. Are you able to do more than one function at a time with it? For instance, close grapple and curl? Nice install

Thank you sir! It will do more than one function at a time, however the functions are slower because it’s sharing the hydraulic flow.

Nice job. I want to install one on my MT347. Can you tell me where you ordered it and the product number so that I get the right one?

Thank you! The part number I used is VKLSLL4106. I got mine from a local dealer but Everything Attachments would be a good online source.

I wanted to ask you to do a video of your 50 hr maintenance, because I'm interested in your opinion of the oil filter. Mine is so short that none of my filter wrenches would get a grip on it. So, I drove a screwdriver through it twice before it was loose enuff to remove by hand. I think the simplest solution is a longer filter, but I'd like to know what you think. I also removed the bracket for the reflective triangle on the rear and reattached the triangle with one of the windshield screws on the left side of the rear windshield. That location is perfect for me, as I can see around it just fine, and the original mounting bracket is no longer in the way. I have your same tractor, but the shuttle shift model. Yes, using the tractor is stress relieving and completely enjoyable!
OH, one more thing... please let me know if you find a good location for a toolbox. : )

I already did the 50 hour service and I have some material for the service, I just need to put it together. Like you said I noticed the filter was a pain because it is short. I was able to use my filter wrench, but it’s the plier type oil filter tool….kind of like a pair of channel locks but the jaws are curve to go around the filter…if that makes sense. But those pliers worked like a charm.
Good tip on the triangle. I need to move mine too. As far as the tool box, Best place I can see to put one is where the passenger side step is. I was going to remove the step and make brackets to mount a toolbox there. I never get in and out of the tractor on that side so I won’t miss the step.

I have also seen others turn the open cross tube on the loader as a tool box. Im considering that as well
