Commenting on all your videos pretty soon. But I'm got COPD, got sick as a kid and got 29% lung capacity and on top of that I did a open heart surgery -15. I just started snowboarding again and of course I have big limitations. BUT it feels soo good and making wonders to my overall health. Don't know how many years I got in me, but I'm going full throttle from now on. Big cheers from Sweden!!

Bowl skating!.......pumping and carving a bowl is a seriously good workout that crosses over to snowboarding.
to an extent until you blow your knees and ankles up doing it. skateboarding, even bowl riding only is so much harder on the body the snowboarding.
stretching is so key. I gotta stretch for like half an hour before I go out.
I flex test my board A LOT. Helps build the glutes
Reverse over the shoulder lunge flex test hopefully.
Being overweight while snowboarding is quite counter intuitive. You go faster, but have more trouble with handling the speed, and that is how you die. I also like how you pointed out it isn't necessary, or even bad to be "huge" for snowboarding because that is very true

I recommend "starting strength" by mark rippetoe. He might be more sarcastic than you😂 deadlifts and barbell squats for the win. All I know is it made my snowboarding scary good.

Starting Strength with the modified version from babylover is exactly how I got into powerlifting and jumping crazy high (used to do basketball) , that program is excellent.
I did Ice Cream Fitness which is another great way to make some rapid strength progress as a beginner

cold stretching is a no-no for me, best to do some cardio/weights session first, then stretch when your muscles are nicely warmed up, IMO.

I learned to strap in standing up, BECAUSE im old and out of shape! Lol. Plus its way faster 👍
I knew the yoga thing was good for something. Started a bit more walking, cycling and will surf as well (living far away from the mountains sucks, but for me it does mean living near the beach which isn't bad). About the drinking water: I already always have to when I go snowboarding. If I don't, I get cramps so bad in my feet and legs.
Mountain and road biking gets my legs into it and riding my motorcycle helps me keep comfortable with soeed
Skateboarding helps with muscles and balance too. Just watch those ankles lol
I've never done any preperation because my season is like 14 days long at max. But i figured that i might as well do preperation now so i can make the best out of my limited time on the mountain.
Cant think of a better reason then making the most of every shredding second. Lol👍

vinyasa flow yoga is the best thing you can do for everything not just shred. Don't go to the gym or a studio for it, you need to learn what works for you and then you can do asanas anytime anywhere to help yourself.
I've been strapping in sitting down all along just because I feel it's easiest to be sitting while I do it.... I'm not ashamed. And I will continue doing it.

I'm turning 35 this season. Is there any hope for me? I can still spin and hit rails so I guess I answered my own question.
Is there any hope for any of us, we're all slowly dying losing our glory one day at a time. Eventually we'll be reduced to making 3 runs in a day, sitting at the lodge bar, looking down on the generations under us with them not knowing what snowboarding was like before climate change and global destruction. Death is the only release.

Haha, I have lived in the south now for 5 yrs and gained so much weight...went out west to go snowboarding after a long time and *sigh* I had to suck it in and hold my breath to buckle bindings! It is the worst feeling and really makes me feel old at 31

Got back into riding a few years ago. Started sitting to strap up after getting off lift because i thought it was easier. Now i feel like i just got called out for peeing while sitting down. Anxiously awaiting winter so i can show everyone i pee and strap whilst standing like a MAN!

Skating. Not even just going to parks, even just cruising. Hell, I used to do downhill free ride longboard (I know, I know lo), that shit helps ALOT. You are bombing hills, carving, trying to do tricks while bombing, and then you have to walk up the hill to do it all over again. After I did that once for a whole off season, I felt like I was in midseason landing new tricks. Shits badass even if people hate you because of some douche bag hipster frat boy pintail nerds ruined it. Lol
