Fitzpatrick was holding Le Roux on the ground preventing him from playing. This is of course nothing new, since their is one set of laws for New Zealand, and another set for the rest of the world. In fact, the New Zealand broadcasters were fined for biased commentating for not acknowledging that Fitzpatrick was holding and preventing Le Roux from playing, something he was renowned for throughout his career.
Fitzpatrick was a cheap shot merchant all throughout his career. He always cried foul when someone got him back. Fitzpatrick would then grass on them to the referee. He even punched his Auckland team mate Iain Abercrombie in a trial match . The late Peter Fatialofa then belted Fitzpatrick back for hitting his team mate Abercrombie. Fitzpatrick never tried it on with Harbour prop Ron Williams or Richard Turner. Williams would have killed him. Williams is as hard as nails
