  • The basis for many repetitive performance problems across all sports is past upsetting events. These physical and or emotional upsets get memorized by our nervous system and leave us feeling unsafe going into a performance. This inner feeling of danger triggers our nervous system to go into the self-protective response of freeze, temporarily kicking our trained skills offline.
These are Unprecedented and Scary Times. As Sports Performance Consultants, we’re here to help athletes, coaches and parents manage this incredible stress and help them stay calm, motivated and mentally tough!

      Izzy,
That's a really tough situation to be in! We're all dealing with a massive amount of "uncontrollables" right now because of this pandemic! However, whenever we allow our focus to go to these things that we have no direct control over, we get anxious, lose our confidence and shut down performance wise. My advice to you is to try and channel your frustration and disappointment into getting better. As we work on our sport, there will always be these frustrations, disappointments and upsets. The best way to use them is to channel them into your determination to get better and achieve your goals. I know this is far easier said than done, but in the situation that we all find ourselves in right now with Covid, it is better to stay mobilized and motivated than to allow immobility and discouragement to set in! Use this unfairness to work harder, ferret out your weaknesses and improve them!
