I too am looking for a “skin tint” or tinted moisturizer for summer. The Kosas was to oily for me. (Plus the oil was rancid in my tube!) The Cover Girl was good but it had some kind of crystallized pieces in it. (I returned both). But having a review off a good representation of drug store and high end tints would be great.

I would love a skin tint review video - honestly I think you might've sold me on this ilia product! It looks so beautiful on you! I did want to note on your mention of a Physicians Formula dupe video that PF is not considered cruelty free anymore, I've referenced cruelty free kitty's site but know there are other sources saying this, too. Just wanted to note it, though I'd watch the video regardless I won't purchase from them until they are cruelty free again. Love ya and hope all is well ❤

i recently picked up the thinksun tinted sunscreen, and i have really been loving it so far. it might actually end up being my favorite tinted sunscreen, heh. it's really good to know that this ilia skin tint works well on top of it, after it's had time to properly sink in and all of that, because i'm considering making it my summer foundation if it works out for me. time to get a sample from my local sephora because i think they have it in stock there now. yay!

I have been considering the Ilia skin tint, and this kind of sealed the deal for me. But ALSO can we talk about how we think it's totally plausible for women to look like they just emerged venus-like from a cocoon of carefully crafted humectants? If you put this foundation on a man, people would be like "bro, why you so *glossy*?" But it's the gold standard as a low-key natural look for women.

I'd love to hear your review on the Honest Beauty tinted moisturizer! This one sounds good but is a bit pricey! :) Love my Ilia foundation and agree that the concealer doesn't really do anything. For me, their concealer actually would not do anything except get really flaky around my eyes.

My skin is actually perfectly okay with coconut but strangely enough hates rose oil and rose water but loves rose hip oil?! It’s so strange! Still on the look for the perfect skin loving foundation (for me). Thank you for reviewing all of these!!

Ok Kackie, I need your guidance: I LOVE the Ilia Skin tint. I have this one patch of dry skin between my eyebrows, and its the only complexion product that i have tried that doesn't break up and get weird on this one spot. I am right now using the Hourglass concealer on my undereyes (im a 37 year old full time working mother of two young girls... my concealer needs concealer!)...the hourglass is pretty good, but do you think there is a better full coverage concealer that won't settle in my wrinkles AND will play nicely with the ilia? Also I use the Kosas Tropic Equinox duo with the Ilia and I really love the combo.
I'm not sure if ELF is considered clean or not, but I'd love if you could swatch and review the ELF bite sized palettes that just came out last month.
I bought the Kjaer Weiss foundation and LOVED it. However, I just ran out and am wondering if the Illia would be a better choice for summer? Thoughts?

Can you use other powders in lieu of the ilia soft focus? How does the soft focus powder compare to the 100 percent pure bamboo blur powder? Isn't Caprylyl Glycol usually a coconut derivative? Did they explain what type of Caprylyl Glycol they used? So many brands will say "oil free!" Or whatever but then still put caprylic triglycerides etc in :(
I would love to hear your opinion on the Honest Beauty CC you mentioned (and any other affordable options you have coming up)! Especially if you set it with the Ilia powder! I am on the hunt for a light/medium coverage (to even out my redness) for my dry skin. I have small children so I always feel the need to powder to cut down on transfer. I think I’ll buy the travel powder set to try when I’m due for a new one. I prefer a pressed powder, but I’d be willing to sacrifice for a Kackie approved magic powder!😉🤗

The ilia true skin serum foundation just did not work well for me for some reason it seems to just sit on top of my skin and collect in pores and dry spots, but this looks beautiful and I really want to try it!! Always looking for a good skin tint since I discovered the it cosmetics cc has retinol in it.
Probably only available in the USA because the SPF regulations in the USA are subpar. There are a stronger, clearer regulations that the rest of the world uses that the FDA just refuses to adopt. (SPF & PA) So US products are not deemed good enough for export. This is why I only use SPF from Korea, Japan, Australia or the EU.
Have you tried the thrive tinted moisturizer? Or the erborian CC cream? Would love to see those in the comparison video!
I would love to see your best of skin tints!! Awesome review! Honestly though just about anything would look perfect on your skin..which looks amazing by the way!! If people are worried about having enough spf on their face and still want a put together look or have something to cover you can take your favorite facial sunscreen and mix it with a liquid foundation or something like Cover Fx custom coverage drops. I want to try the supergoop unseen spf and the cover fx drops or use another high coverage foundation like Pacifica (I hate it because I can't get it to not look cakey but maybe with sunscreen I could pull it off).
Same on that Pacifica alight foundation! It’s such a perfect shade match for me & fairly inexpensive... I want it to work so badly & I just can’t!!!

@@camilledumas Hey :) I wound up getting Shade 9 Paloma. I have a TERRIBLE time matching my skin as I am fairly dark but also quite pink. If it helps, I had 3C1/Dune in Laura Mercier Flawless Lumiere and it was a little light for me but not terrible (it is is pretty but too heavy for me)
Okay lol, that’s frustrating. Diverse shades should be the norm, not “unprecedented”. And *really* doesn’t need to be touted as something groundbreaking.

W3ll people bio brightener invisible powder (the loose one, at least) also works really well with this foundation.
I love that powder. I use it with Vapour foundations and also Ere Perez foundation and it always looks great.

Here a tip! ;) I have used Mac face and body and it’s quite Same like this in how it is on te skin. It’s watery like. And if you want more cover then put it in your hand en rub it for 10 tot 3 seconds and then put it on the places you want more cover. It works! :) if you want more cover blend in in your hands ;)
Compatibility wise, do you think the KVD powder in Lyric would sit nicely over this??? (Just under the eyes really) It’s the only powder I’ve been able to find that I can buy as a refill (as a low waste option) to pop into my salt palette
Oh, oh...My skin likes Squalane! And no coconut...🤗🤗🤗 I like my La Roche Posey tinted sunscreen but it really is a little too dark and there are no shade options.

@@pleaseuseturnsignals5880 the lightest of the two mychelle shades is too dark for me, but the thinksun tinted spf 30 is actually perfect. when the uv index is super high, i layer a tinted sunscreen on top of a non tinted sunscreen to make sure i'm thoroughly protected. i am rly considering getting the non tinted version of the mychelle liquid for summer to use under the thinksun tinted because the formula is honestly excellent.
@@riverugh ahhhh, I see. I do also love the non tinted. Finishing up my last bottle now. Confession: I got a bottle of Krave beauty's beet shield (spf50) and I love the daylights out of it. Only thing that could replace Mychelle. Note: I have hella dry skin. 😑

every single one of the chemical filters used in us sunscreens either irritates the heck out of my skin or breaks me out horrifically. i've heard that the new generation chem filters used in most of the rest of the world are much less likely to do this.
I so wish this had a bit more coverage to this. The ingredient list looks spectacular (nothing I'm allergic to, nor things that will break me out! YAY no coconut!) Plus skincare ingredients! But my skin is never good enough to be able to make this work *sigh* I'd love if you could review the Root cream/lip colours. They look like they have great ingredients too.

My skin is pretty dry, so this product worked for me, don't get oily and don't need to powder anything. my only concern is that the zinc oxide concentration is 12%, which is pretty low for an efficient sun protection during summer days, you need at least 20% (that's why supergroup CC is superior in that area). But it's a perfect winter/"office days" tint if you don't intend to spend too much time outdoors or in a direct sunlight. Coconut and its derivatives are very comedogenic for my skin, so yeah, this one is a winner
The SPF has been thoroughly tested so you shouldn't be afraid to use it even in summer ;) The way zinc oxide is treated, micronized or not, added with different components etc. makes it more or less efficient so we shouldn't rely just on the concentration for that

@@Andrupenko Usually yes but this one has been processed differently. They even patented this process. And to get the spf30 mark in Europe it means it really is at the very least 30 so I would trust it 😊
I just found out you are not supposed to mix sunscreens because it can weaken or change the spf power.
I know you only like tube mascara but Ilia makes a nice mascara. No clumping no irritation doesn’t flake or smear

I found you during this stay at home order and it was such a 🤯 that my concealer may be creasing because it is oil based and my tinted moisturizer is water based! Couple of things, why don't you use primer after your sunscreen and why don't you have tarte products in the review rotation? Thanks!
Hi! So sometimes I use primer, but my sunscreen works great as a primer a lot of times! And Tarte just hasn’t put out anything that’s excited me in a long time. That’s all!
How would this work with oil based concealers? Like RMS uncover up or Glossier stretch concealer for example?

Kackie has previously talked about the Drunk Elephant tinted sunscreen. She said it performed like a primer. I bought it off her recommendation and love it too, it’s glowy and close to my skin tone so I often use it alone like a skin tint.

Check the ingredients. I think probs not because there are no silicones so they won’t behave the same but I don’t know off the top of my head.

So sad to see this is available in the US only 😕. I can only use mineral SPF, am sensitive to coconut, and this sounds perfect.
They will be selling in the UK at some point, Naturisimo has a list to be notified when it's in stock. Whether that's because Ilia are in talks with the regulators or because the UK is in a kind of wild west re regulations since we left the EU I'm not sure.
I’m side-eyeing the claims a bit, I ran the ingredients through skincarisma (looking for coconut derivatives like you) and apparently the two ingredients after Propanediol are graded high in the comedogenic scale. Might not mean anything, because so’s shea butter and my face loves it, but I think it’s a bit fresh to claim the tint is non-comedogenic when it kind of could be. I might, hypothetically after I finish all my bb creams (so in a decade), give a go to the Ere Perez quinoa water foundation because it seems “skin-tinty” enough. Thanks for the review!
