  • Uncut interview with ZAKK WYLDE
Interview conducted on May 3, 2024.
Zakk Wylde was eager for his participation in the Best of Blues and Rock, one of the largest blues and rock festivals in Brazil, alongside his friends Joe Bonamassa and Kiko Loureiro, among others. For the 57-year-old guitarist, the prospect of sharing the stage with these talents and reliving previous experiences in Brazil was thrilling. In this interview, he fondly recalls the enthusiasm and passion of the Brazilian audience, highlighting the unique energy that fans here bring to rock shows. For Wylde, revisiting Black Sabbath classics with Zakk Sabbath is gratifying, as Sabbath has been a fundamental influence on his musical career since a young age. He emphasizes the seminal role of the group in the history of heavy metal, comparing Tony Iommi’s importance to that of figures like Bach and Beethoven in classical music. In addition to his participation in the Best of Blues and Rock, Wylde recently got involved in Pantera's return to the stage after more than two decades. He describes the atmosphere of the shows as a celebration of the legacy of brothers Dimebag Darrell and Vinny Paul Abbott, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to keep the band's memory alive. Finally, he comments on the ten years of Wylde Audio and shares his thoughts on simulated amps and more.
