Thank you Tom. Yes you can run both trains with DCS. Having Legacy and DCS is of course best. You can do alot between DCS and the lionchief app but not quite all the luxuries as Legacy.

Thank you for watching. I know the TIU's were delayed like alot of things because of circuit boards. The new TIU will have WIFI built into it. It will be without remote as they are discontinued. You can use a tablet or phone.
Very informative Video Bob.! Well Done.! Lionel Legacy CAB-2 production now over your system my be better for some folks. I really like some things about MTH but I'm not sure it's enough for me to try and set up DCC. The BIG thing for me is it does not seem like you are able to run all the Legacy features your locomotive has running the MTH DCC controller or the Lion Chief app. I guess I can try and set it up backwards? Do you think I can run MTH trains with my Legacy CAB-2 Controller useing the DCC system? My guess would be NO. Lionel Legacy System is not the same as TMCC or DCC it's more advanced. Lionel CAB-3 Base will be interesting.! Awesome layout improvements the new trucks will look great.!👍Mark 😊
Thank you Mark for the kind words. I dont have a full Legacy system but I dont believe you can run PS2 or PS3 with Legacy. Sids trains would be the guy to ask. He knows a tremendous amount about both systems.
hi bob thank you for your advice about how to properly wire a layout . i recently aquired a mth angus camelback its a real nice engine. well i only had 54 inch turns i had to upgrade the layout to 72 ,i also took out my older switches made the 72 independant of the other lines seem to be running real smooth have a great day. i have 1 question where can i get a pilot for a sd70 thax bob
They only place is thru MTH parts for the pilot. If that doesn't work I can suggest an MTH tech that could order it and repair it. Thanks for the feedback. Im planing a big video real soon; the entire layout has been re done and I think looks great with more detail.
Can you do a lashup between the mth and Lionel Legacy locomotives and does smoke and everything work the same lam hooking mine up as we speak thanks for sharing l needed this Video, l done Everything According
unfortunately David you cant lashup legacy and mth. If you have legacy you can lashup two legacy, if mth 2 mth but they dont cooperate together. Technically you can run them on same track its just they have different speed steps so you need to monitor them.
@@BobsOGaugeTrains yeah l just finished hooking mine up Everything works great Now have to load all my Visionline and Legecy Locomotives into Dcs system your Video was great help thank you 😊, Yeah l have a tmcc base hooked to it like your, but also l have 2 New 990 Legecy Systems as well but not going to mess with them 😀 thank you again 😀

Bob, I still run my trains with a transformer. I don’t I’ll go to command control.
Its ok either way, the main focus of the hobby is have fun no matter what you run.

Its just a plain old TMCC command base from Lionel, and a DCS tiu from MTH. Its a very easy hookup. Believe me 10 minutes,
Can you control smoke volume on the Lionel switcher through the DCS remote?
Unfortunately you cant regulate Lionel smoke volumn with DCS. You need Lionels remote for that.
