Thanks for all of your wonderful music Chick. Rest in peace.
Goodbye, thanks for this song.
SOOOOO GOOOOODDDDDD
This interpretation of Eleanor Rigby is amazing. Wonder what Paul McCartney thinks of it. Chick can take any tune and just make it his own.
ten stars!!! Great Chick Corea again. A master.
Best cover of Eleanor Rigby. Ever.
Btw, Happy Birthday :)
never heard this piece before, but I love Chick's unique approach to this. brought a very NEW flavor to this. at some points this reminded me of Keith Jarrett's playing (and that wouldn't be surprising since the two of them played together in one of Miles Davis' bands back in the 70's). - very cool version... thanks for posting!!!
Sweet !!! Real nice have to put that on repeat !
great song
great version
Amazing
Check out another Chick Corea & Gary Burton version of Eleanor Rigby! found one when they were playing in Leverkusen!
five, six or more stars.Thank you for the post.
Great song, great interpretation...his touch is do delicate and personal! Tnaks for posting! Greetings from Argentina! Cesarcroes you're right! Còmprense un rancho! jaja abrazo
One of my favorite Beatle selections... nice to hear it done by the master Chick Corea! I am working on "my beatle song book." I am doing some jazz vocal things...
Sweet !!!
que buena versión! gracias!
I see all of these "...and I'm a Mormon" videos all over youtube and can't help but imagine Chick Corea popping up after this performance saying
"...and I'm a scientologist!"
mt bom a imitaçao
Yes I do, and I will be posting it soon. Thank you.
@123must You're very welcome!
@elrolomartin You're very welcome!
To all those who are saying this is not Chick, are stuck with RTF and/or Elektric Band stuffs. Listen to Children's Songs, Solo Piano, Expressions and his other solo Piano recordings. Jazz Musicians age gracefully, of course, if Chick's going to do another rendition of this, he would take it to another level.
You're welcome!
@123must Agree!!!!!
Have you the Blackbird version for Arturo Sandoval? I couldn't found this version, it is in the same album that this song.
the harmonies say chick
5 stelle
I second cocomaire. Doesnt sound like Chick. I've never heard him do ostinato. This repeated droning in the left hand. Chick is so inventive. He's usually all over the place full of harmonic and rhythmic ideas.
Died suddenly.
I've not heard any fingerprints in technique, touch, rhythmic prowess, or harmonic flair suggesting Chick Corea. If this is chick, then the maestro has developed another dimension to his artistic progression - to play like an average clone of himself! QUITE IMPRESSIVE!
@Doumbeck You're not wrong, this one is just a case of a guy with wishful thinking, he cant fool some people but not really.
HEY YO. check out stanley jordan's eleanor rigby. make sure you watch the one where he's wearing a pink shirt. IT'S FUCKING INCREDIBLE
Ok... Boos
Ok....
This is among my top E Rigby covers of all, seconded only by Ted Greenes version ( watch?v=4DJdJi9wjKo )
****
not chick, is it?
Agree. This can´t be Chick. Lots of timing issues, and generally sloppy.
Frank Larssen It's clearly Chick's style
?????? Sloppy?
My problem with this arrangement is the smooth flow of the song (in the original version) is interrupted and choppy. There‘s an uncomfortable absence of melody. Corea‘s arrangement often has a harsh dissonance. It‘s not interesting when we know the arranger is trying to be different (for the sake of being different).
doesn't sound like chick corea...
