As a Telugu guy, I am proud to say everyone has put their heart out. For me, as Shan said, the hero would be Amitabh ji rather than Prabhas. It has an outstanding second half and a forgettable first half. Trust me, I slept in the first half! Second half visuals made this movie an outstanding attempt by an Indian team. Kudos to Nag Ashwin! Music is outstanding too..
Watched the movie yesterday. First half with Prabhas's unnecessarily extended fight scenes, his jokes, the whole Utopian sequence are gonna make you question the whole movie but the moment Amitji showed up and Deepika walks through fire, it grips you. Hang in there for the last 40 minutes.
Kalki makers should keep the serious tone without any unnecessary jokes.if they somehow make this movie more serious without unnecessary elements like crimge dialog,songs etx then it definitely gonna look better Or else its gonna be like thor

If a movie is hit, success goes to the team (actors and technicians). In the same way, if a movie becomes flop, then the same team is responsible for the failure. You can't blame only one person for the film's failure. Kalki 2898 AD will be path breaking blockbuster and success goes to the entire team not only your Bollywood stars

My only problem with the movie was the overglorification of karna...the chariot scene shown in the end has no mention in any Mahabharata manuscript. Its only folklore..it made arjun look arrogant and karna like the ultimate hero..but in reality Krishna never spoke such words for karna...you can read gitapress authentic Mahabharata.i am not lying.
Its baffling how this Hindi dub got approved. They haven't even distributed the original Telugu version in most parts of India. Really makes you appreciate Rajamouli's pan-world appeal.

First half had incredible potential of world building. Loved the scenes with curious kid and those of Deepika's character. Wished the screenplay had spent more time on Deepika's character to flesh her out, make us as the audience root for her character. And yes, the Prabhas intro scene dragged for way too long. The Disha Patni scene was necessary though, to introduce to the complex and the for better world building.
All of the cameos are what made this movie 100 times better and Mr Bachchan has the best screen presence. Prabhas has the most lukewarm intro fight section.
See Mr first half is completely world building , and this is not a single shot movie it is making with different parts so it is need to make everyone to introduce to the world
Shambala is actually a city hidden from the rest of our real world. It is said to be somewhere in between The Himalayas. If people today go and search for it they will never find it and you're comparing it with Wakanda. What if Marvel copied that Idea from our culture😂😂😂😂

Everybody would've targeted prabhas personally. Mahabharat scenes were so fckn powerful and amazing that I was hoping Nag Ashwin makes a whole standalone movie on Mahabharat. He captured the essence of war of Kurukshetra quite perfectly. Vo scenes literal goosebumps de rahe the especially the last scene of Arjun vs Karn where Shri Krishna humbled Arjun(although that whole chariot event doesn't even exist in the Mahabharat). The only problem I had with Mahabharat scenes in the movie was the glorification of Karn when actually in Mahabharat he was a very insecure, evil and arrogant character and not a hero or a morally good character who should be glorified or idolised. I loved their artistic choice how they didn't show Shri Krishna's face indrectly conveying the message that Lord Krishna is so divine that a mere human cannot play him ❤️🔥👏🏼

Well, Wakada is inspired from Shambhala. Concept of Shambhala a city believed to be existing in or around Mt Kailash is written fact of our history/mythology. Besides, Marvel movies also credit it back to Hinduism by mentioning "Glory to Hanuman" in the movie.
I agree with him and I also feel like makers has done the same mistake what makers of RA.One has done. But RA.One is an excuse because it came almost 14 years ago, whereas kalki makers just made it aweful even after having all advancement in these days

Just watched this movie.... I was so excited about it .. i absolutely agree with shaan's review 1st half of the movie can test your patience... But the 2nd half is worth having that patient... All the scene of amit sir were amezing and makes u feel the characters emotions ... If the makers Remove all the nonsensical hype of actors in the next part the movie would surely become a masterpiece
I just couldn’t sit in the theatre after the first hour. It wasn’t just making me sleepy but made me anxious to never step in a theatre again. It was a disaster, still have a headache thinking about that Prabhas sequence along with Disha Patani lmao x

Its 3.5 star and all because of Nag Ashwin's Vision... Actors acting especially Prabhas, Amitabh Sir and Kamal Sir.... and Visuals... The screenplay is like Brahmastra... When its good its great... but when its flat its just flat... Good is first 10 min... around 10 min of interval and climax... These first attempts by Indian Directors must be appreciated by the audience... and Over react nhi... but i think we got our DC and Marvel as Astraverse and Kalki Universe... ❤❤❤ Haan i guess what Shan said is also important... i think those cringy humor was mostly because of dub because telugu audiences are not having any trouble with it... so i think its mostly a dub problem...
I have no idea what you're saying but I enjoyed the film immensely. The MCU doesn't even come close. Several cameo appearances add to the fun. Featuring Shambhala was great since it occurs in ancient prophecies from several traditions.
I saw the movie and not sure why they are complaining about the first half when it is actually important and helps us to understand second half and the entire story in a better way…
This film is a landmark achievement that puts Indian cinema on the global map. Amitabh Bachchan's performance takes it to new heights. Kudos to the Director for a masterpiece. It's a must-watch movie that deserves international recognition.

I know Amit ji was absolutely awesome. One of his best outings after a long time, but one is talking about Saswata Chatterjee’s performance. This guy never leaves anything behind and always gives his 200%. He had the most screen time too. His cool villainous acting had the most menacing impact. Just don’t praise names for the sake of it. Give credit elsewhere where it’s due. No Deepika was very average in this movie.

The movie is historically inaccurate....ashwathama had so much hatred for karna, he had so many disputes with him throuhout mahabharata a huge quarrel before VIrata yudh and on one occasion ashwathama even ran behind karna to behead him for cussing at his uncle kripacharya , really disappointed by the creative liberty taken by nag ashwin , you may write the future s you feel like but must not change the history....the point when ashwathama in the movie says "mera mitra tha vo ..."I did a facepalm and almost puked when he said that karna was powerful than arjun. Arjun defeated karna more than thrice throughout Jay Sahinta and the scene where karna protects ashwathama from arjun was so inaccurate....its clearly mentioned that ashwathama saved karna from arjun on various occasions both in Virat yudh and Mahabharata.the scene where arjun says"we got pushed back only 2 steps " and lord krishna's dialogue after that is a bullshit story created by Whatsapp University. Arjun who saw true form of God on the first day of War and realized that he's not the doer would never say see how far back I pushed karna.

I felt the movie is a good entertainer but fell short of being a masterpiece. My take is 1. The movie had a great potential with its story concept - blend of Indian mythology with a Sci-Fi future. But story felt shallow and disconnected at places where they traded it for comedy and melodrama. 2. Amitabh was a towering presence. He genuinely made a strong impact. Hatsoff to the legend. 3. Wish they had developed the character of Kamal Hassan in the first half (Hope they will do so in next movie). The man can be such a dominating presence if given a space. 4. Prabhas, yes, as mentioned has been the weakest link. The intro scene was definitely a cringe show. Dude is good with action but as a comic loverboy it felt more as a spoof than a serious story at places. 5. The VFX at display was much better per Indian standards but at places the quality drops. But kudos to the effort. 6. The movie tries to be everything for everyone. I wish it stuck to a coherent storyline than trying to add masala, songs and drama to play to a specific audience. 7. Unnecessary cameos - Made the movie feel like a spoof with cameos of Rajamouli and scores of others (which ofc plays to local audience), but wildly disconnected from the plot. 8. Poorly written dialogues - The dialogues at places pulled down the movie. Took you out of the flow of the story. The movie couldve been a timeless masterpiece, despite its shortcomings on budget, had it stuck to a serious storyline. Take cues from classics like LOTR, Starwars, Avatar etc. You pay homage to the characters there not the actors. Please give more space to Amitji and Kamal Sir in the next one. I feel in the end, the movie is a good entertainer, but missed the shot for being a masterpiece.

Agree with the review Analysis. It was die hard torutre to experience 1st half. But they had really pull it off at many scenes which had elevated the status of the movie.

Mahabharat scenes were so fckn powerful and amazing that I was hoping Nag Ashwin makes a whole standalone movie on Mahabharat. He captured the essence of war of Kurukshetra quite perfectly. Vo scenes literal goosebumps de rahe the especially the last scene of Arjun vs Karn where Shri Krishna humbled Arjun(although that whole chariot event doesn't even exist in the Mahabharat). The only problem I had with Mahabharat scenes in the movie was the glorification of Karn when actually in Mahabharat he was a very insecure, evil and arrogant character and not a hero or a morally good character who should be glorified or idolised. I loved their artistic choice how they didn't show Shri Krishna's face indrectly conveying the message that Lord Krishna is so divine that a mere human cannot play him ❤️🔥👏🏼

Just watched this movie.... I was so excited about it .. i absolutely agree with shaan's review 1st half of the movie can test your patience... But the 2nd half is worth having that patient... I know Amit ji was absolutely awesome. One of his best outings after a long time, but one is talking about Saswata Chatterjee’s performance. This guy never leaves anything behind and always gives his 200%. He had the most screen time too. His cool villainous acting had the most menacing impact.
Just don’t praise names for the sake of it. Give credit elsewhere where it’s due. No Deepika was very average in this movie.

The movie is historically inaccurate....ashwathama had so much hatred for karna, he had so many disputes with him throuhout mahabharata
a huge quarrel before VIrata yudh and on one occasion ashwathama even ran behind karna to behead him for cussing at his uncle kripacharya , really disappointed by the creative liberty taken by nag ashwin , you may write the future s you feel like but must not change the history....the point when ashwathama in the movie says "mera mitra tha vo ..."I did a facepalm and almost puked when he said that karna was powerful than arjun. Arjun defeated karna more than thrice throughout Jay Sahinta and the scene where karna protects ashwathama from arjun was so inaccurate....its clearly mentioned that ashwathama saved karna from arjun on various occasions both in Virat yudh and Mahabharata.the scene where arjun says"we got pushed back only 2 steps " and lord krishna's dialogue after that is a bullshit story created by Whatsapp University. Arjun who saw true form of God on the first day of War and realized that he's not the doer would never say see how far back I pushed karna.

I felt the movie is a good entertainer but fell short of being a masterpiece. My take is
1. The movie had a great potential with its story concept - blend of Indian mythology with a Sci-Fi future. But story felt shallow and disconnected at places where they traded it for comedy and melodrama.
2. Amitabh was a towering presence. He genuinely made a strong impact. Hatsoff to the legend.
3. Wish they had developed the character of Kamal Hassan in the first half (Hope they will do so in next movie). The man can be such a dominating presence if given a space.
4. Prabhas, yes, as mentioned has been the weakest link. The intro scene was definitely a cringe show. Dude is good with action but as a comic loverboy it felt more as a spoof than a serious story at places.
5. The VFX at display was much better per Indian standards but at places the quality drops. But kudos to the effort.
6. The movie tries to be everything for everyone. I wish it stuck to a coherent storyline than trying to add masala, songs and drama to play to a specific audience.
7. Unnecessary cameos - Made the movie feel like a spoof with cameos of Rajamouli and scores of others (which ofc plays to local audience), but wildly disconnected from the plot.
8. Poorly written dialogues - The dialogues at places pulled down the movie. Took you out of the flow of the story.
The movie couldve been a timeless masterpiece, despite its shortcomings on budget, had it stuck to a serious storyline. Take cues from classics like LOTR, Starwars, Avatar etc. You pay homage to the characters there not the actors. Please give more space to Amitji and Kamal Sir in the next one.
