This format was much easier to watch, with you showing the badge on the screen while discussing it. Thanks!

Derby’s badge is fantastic design. It speaks of history and sporting prowess.
Cambridge looks like a kids generic football teams.
Cheltenham Town have really gone kind of Henri Matisse and modernist.
My club Carlisle’s badge has the motto ‘be just and fear not’. A great mantra for life.

I love the current version.. the monstrosity it was under some of Nigel Cloughs time ffs,, whoever thought it was a good idea to stick it in a circle template with the club name slapped on it needs shooting.

Every football fan in England knows the Portsmouth crest. 👍🏻

    Personally:
    Promoted:
Bristol Rovers - Fav of mine, he's a pirate and I like the breaking the circle. Yellow works well for making details stand out
Leyton Orient - Good historic look and the two dragons are fun
    Playoffs:
Derby County - It's kind of weird how it's only the black that stick around, but I love the ram
Bolton Wanderers - Nice old badge
Wycombe Wanderers - Just a nice badge, a good circle
Oxford United - I quite like it, solid design
    MID:
Northampton Town - Somewhere between cool old badge and really dated
Charlton Athletic - Good circle, nice and simple, bit boring though
Port Vale - Kind of nice old badge, the pretzel at the top doesn't help
Reading - Kinda mid, but some bits just look kinda nice
Portsmouth - A circle makes this worse, just something about it doesn't work for me
Carlisle United - Starting to age, red/blue clash a bit too much making it hard to look out, like the details
Wigan Athletic - Something just off about this badge, but it's fine
Cheltenham Town - Unique but unspectacular
    Danger Zone:
Shrewsbury Town - Kind of mid
    Lincoln City - Weird looking
Exeter City - You're bias, the badge kinda eh but not terrible
Peterborough United - Banner at the bottom helps, but it's not a style of badge I think is good
Burton Albion - Kind of weird but kinda fun
Stevenage - Just a bit ugly at a distance which really hurts it
    Relegated:
Blackpool - Hate the circle around crest, invisible background makes it worse. Back the crest or not
Fleetwood Town - The FTFC is really awkward, the anchor is cool though
Barnsley - Something really awkward about this design
Cambridge United - I know amateur clubs with better badges. Relegating Rovers over this is a crime

The port vale badge is the Staffordshire knot mate not a pretzel but I can see what you mean 😂

Oxford, Charlton & Barnsley should have been top 3, Fleetwood, Burton & Bolton's badges are awful.

  • @DudeLebowski23

Bristol Rovers are literally The Pirates, how can you look at that badge and not know that’s what it is?
Also includes year they were founded & the blue and white quarters which they’ve been known for since the 1950’s.
    You’ve had a shocker there.

Bolton and Derby are by far the best for me - both are imaginative without being too 'clever'. Northampton, Peterborough and Blackpool are too 'busy' for me and I would relegate them with Lincoln, whose badge may replicate a gargoyle on Lincoln Cathedral but is just plain weird on a football badge. The video was a fun thing to watch on a rainy Sunday morning but I feel a bit more background research might have helped, e.g. the nickname for Bristol Rovers being The Pirates or the Stevenage badge including a stylised version of the Hertfordshire emblem of the Hart (deer). Also, the female presenter was a bit too bogged down in personal experiences of Plymouth Argyle matches. However, to repeat myself, it was all just a bit of fun.

All the Swans are owned by the Crown, hence the crown and chains. The Swan and chains are the on the Arms for Buckinghamshire, the county WW are in.

Cambridge’s badge is a football clock with the initials of the club in the middle I may be a little biased but I actually think it’s a bit iconic and the badge has been around since around 1950

Blackpool's badge is the coat of arms of the town with our club name around it. It's a good badge but I do prefer our tower badge from the 70s which has also been used on recent kits. Also we're the only tangerine club in England, not just League One however we're not the only one in Britain as Dundee United are the only other tangerine club in the country.

I kinda agree with many of your rankings. However, I would change the following...
    Promoted: Derby, Charlton, Bolton
Relegated: Fleetwood Town (that badge is awful, lol!)

Bolton’s badge is another classic. A 1970’s design that hasn’t changed because ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’.
Blackpool had a really interesting stylised 70’s design involving the Blackpool tower. It was a bit like the style of Derby’s.

New subscriber but you cannot beat the Rams. Official Ram mascot sometimes appears at home games with his regimental keeper and fortunately decides not to chase the opposition around the pitch or fertilise it. LOL.

Pompey moon & crescent is very iconic and is one of the only badges that shares its badge with the local council. If you go to Pompey, this badge is everywhere. lamposts, road signs, manholes, plaques... you name it!
