About the film: A thrilling action-comedy that tracks the adventures of three college freshmen as they get caught up in a clash with their senior classmates. To seek revenge, they forge an unexpected partnership with a local gangster named Ranga.
The film features Fahadh Faasil (Pushpa: The Rise - Part 1 & Vikram) and Saji Gopu (Churuli & Jan.E.Man), and is directed by the renowned Jithu Madhavan, known for "Romancham."

Ranga called all his goons to tell them that they do not want any friendship with the boys and they can leave ranga and not to kill them.

Infact even the hindi boys are alive and shown when ranga appears in black. So you are right, he always forgived whoever said sorry . There are lot of details to unpack and lot of mysteries. What we know of Ranga is a third hand story,and if you have played the telephone game you know what's that like. It's a comedy but deep. One big reason is he felt guilty towards his mother to the point such a violent person won't beat anyone, and Bibi's mother was the only other person to call him son, so he can't hurt her.This is shown multiple times. A second watch would be better.
But he also did absolutely murder some guys in the climax fight. So it's not impossible that he might hurt you. On the wall with red paint the is a picture with ranga with half face a beast, that's the full picture, he can be either a beast or a human with emotions. Right before showing Ranga crying, there is a shot if him from the kitchen such that you see half of Ranga from behind and half of the Ranga from the potrait. There are so many tiny details to watch out for.

I believe the mother decides the entire flow of the movie..she is a very strong influence and deciding factor.... He lost his mother... Bibi's mother is what makes him decide not to kill them and keep his word of giving attention to Bibi... It s just for the respect for mother... I felt so and age... Age plays a big factor.. And yes it s a fun movie

Malayalam film industry always do that. like a collective craft. no starrism. they only do what story demands, never do shts for the sake of fans. you ll understand if you explore good crafts from malayalam films. every films are kinda independend films and independed mix commercial like films.
Guys. I could see you didn't even understand the crux of the movie and misunderstood it completely. Don't worry you need a see a lot of movies from the region to understand their story beats. In my personal opinion, the screenplay is little longer, they dragged the movie atleast for 30 minutes, the first half was brilliant. But the extraordinary performance of Fahad and good supports from other cast made this film really enjoyable.
Waiting for Kumbalangi Nights and other FaFa stuffs.

Ranga didn't kill anyone. Because we are only hearing stories. The two hindi boys can be seen in last scene. They were not killed. Even his ex boss, we dont see his dead body. So all his killings, including his brother, it's all stories

It's kinda true that here parents wants to know more about how's kids education going and are they happy for not , depends on families and education level , and also how much they are open up to their parents , like if it's a young generation parents would talk about all the aspects like about friendship circle his or her child is in and love life n stuff but if it's a millennial or 90s kids parents are more orthodox and less open up on other topics , so yeah the movie makers wanted to connect more audience and thus they made sure it's kinda old school mother's love where kids n parents talk less but show love with actions .❤️

Aavesham has a very interesting narrative....we get two stories rolled into one....the narrative begins with the boys and it slowly shifts over to Ranga. I luv that there's this mystery to Ranga and our POV is through the students.
So, just like the students we also laugh and believe that Ranga is a clown who gets all his cronies to do all the work. And kids being kids through their actions end up getting more than what they signed up for as it starts getting real.
Bottom line: Be careful for what you wish for.....
The charades sequence reminded me of Joe Pesci and Ray Liotta 'funny guy' moment in Goodfellas.
This movie has more layers than I expected it to have upon repeat viewings. You wonder about his interest in these kids and then you realize that he just wants to be loved or have friends.
His Instagram posts are a prime example of this but, then he also fails to see the adoration and loyalty of Ambaan.
The small nuances like the ring tone (the KGF mom theme) of Bibi's phone also acts as a lullaby to calm the angry man child.
Fahad brings a comic and dramatic intensity unlike a few actors. His skinny frame reminded me of a scrawny but menacing Al Pacino in Scarface. Only a versatile actor can bring that emotion despite looking physically demure.
Hope it gets a sequel....too bad it wasn't as impactful on you guys..

Late reply but M. Night Shyamalan is my favorite filmmaker in Hollywood. Love psychological thrillers. The Wachowski Sisters' Bound is the perfect example of a film I love with all my heart.

Malayalam movies tend to be more grounded in story telling. Also this movie is a 'spoof' of 'some' gangsta indian movies in India with very over the top actions and characters that beats logic. So Dont look at it thru eyes of like real gangsta movies.. This is more of a funny comedy action. Also the role that Bibis Mom played is crucial for him to calm down and see bibi as his siblings which ties to his own unresolved things with his mom. Plus Ranga character is a bit of unhinged psycho who don't mind violence but mostly do it for good and take out bad guys. Rest of the time its just hanging with his crew and having fun. So those things are the underlying stuff to understand. But it will definitely be a better watch second time

With the ending, I think they tried to make this light and fun without a sad ending. Also I think through the journey, Renga deep down became a brother to bibi given all the conversations with bibi's mother and that was what he wanted deep down, a family. In the past he killed his brother for the same reason, betrayal. So, maybe he tried to change deep down and forgive those kids for the betrayal. In a way, he forgave his brother.

Well the ending is very great! Due to the fact that this is an asian movie ofcz..even college students are considered kids! Even tho theyre legal! We have many cultural differences and ideas of how one must behave and act..even strangers are called "brother" "sister" "uncle" "aunty" "sir" etc! As a sign of respect and admiration..and thus .ranga always considered them as his own brother even tho he is a gangster..and fun fact..he didnt actually kill those two at the ending! Those stunt people..they where along with him in climax with nanjappa..ranga is a nice guy but just has some Temper issue

For most of us including me, the ending is the best. Can u think about a better ending in a positive way? In a gangster way the only possible ending is killing them and he would have done that. His emotional attachment to his own mother is so much. When Bibi called him "brother" he finds him as a brother and find his mother as his own. The phone call from his mother prevented him from killing them. Still we all as audience wanted to see them to be punished for their betrayal. Even though they are not killed they are punished, Right?

I think you will probably not like brahmayugam( if you are gonna watch it) cause the movie is in black and white also its really slow movie you will get bored easily. Also kumbalangi nights is good but everyone may not like it
I (Chris) have always struggled with black&white films since I’m a big fan of colors and lighting but I’m willing to open my mind for that film!
Metoo, for me personally it was a different experience but too slow and it's a bit silent movie. So that's why it's a bit boring but otherwise the acting and all is too good.
