Agreed, I love that the same sex couple survives, as do many characters of colour, such as Josh, Deena and Martin.
@@alme4561 black characters are notoriously the first to die in horror films, it’s a whole trope. Similarly, queer characters are always dying in a plethora of genres in tv/films so that’s a whole trope in itself too (the “bury your gays trope”).
You’re right about the lack of diversity - but think about it, a disproportionately high amount of that little representation ends up in death. That’s why it’s fair for her to say it, because the characters representing marginalised groups often suffer the worst fates and/or the quickest

Like ruby: that girl is very thin, if we think following your logic so simon could have pulled her off him easy peasy in that scene from the first movie, without needing help

The scariest killer for me is Tommy, not really the creepiest but its hard to survive from him since he runs so fast, like other killers dont rlly run but tommy will chase you

It's not just the sprinting.. his walk was terrifying also. It was almost like a half run.
He scares me because he was a fully developed character. He was built up as such a great guy, and then turned into a monster. That terrified me.

Did nobody else think that Ruby Lane was scary? She had that evil smile and that beautiful voice as she walked towards people slowly. Definitely the creepiest killer to me
shes not the scariest to me but I've always had a weird thing with anything touching my neck, the thought of being slit in the throat makes me feel sick, like I would much rather be stabbed, and the thought of her killing me with that razor, yikes its gonna sting so bad too.

The grifter is definitely ONE of the scariest. His mask and his breathing. He’s super tall and strong. The way the threw the milkman is insane. The milkman is more weird than scary. Billy is literally a child. Steal his bat and knock him over. We didn’t really get to see the pastor much. Plus he only killed kids. That doesn’t take a lot. Ruby isn’t strong without that knife. You could probably fight her one on one. I love her tho. Skull mask is definitely the least scariest LOL. Tommy can run. Not many other killers do. So in conclusion the scariest are Tommy and the grifter.
for me the scariest are gonna have to be billy barker, tommy/axe man and the grifter. 1. billy bc of that stupid bad omfg dbhdbchwb like the way he hits it when hes near creeps me tf out. 2. tommy/axe man bc he can run hella fast and has good aim jesus crist he never misses. lastly the grifter bc hes hella tall OMFG LIKE WHAT?? also hes breathing omllll

It’s either ziggy who took the book to bring back Cindy or it’s the girl that talked to josh. The girl who talked to josh was obsessed with Sarah and the whole witch stuff.
YESSS !!! one of the main reasons why i love this trilogy so much is because like the director says it goes against typical horror movie stereotypes where the black / queer people always die first. it’s nice to know that we don’t get to see that in the fear street series :)

(THEORY/PREDICTION) i feel like the hand that grabs the book is nick's brother, cause nick is dead. there aren't anymore goodes in the family EXCEPT for his brother. the area where the book is put is connected to the goodes' home in sunnyvale, and nick's brother lives and is mayor in sunnyvale. nick lives in shadyside since he's the sheriff and needs to be close there at all times.

Another Easter egg is the parallel between Solomon and Deena. When Solomon was chasing Sarah Fier in the tunnels he was screaming her name. And when Deena was chasing after Nick Goode in the tunnels she was yelling his name, like the roles had been reversed.

@@necroid888 I was thinking because of Ziggy and Cindy’s drastic ending and they left on sort of an unfinished note. Ziggy would use the book to bring back Cindy to tell her that the curse is over or just to get one last reconciliation with her since she’s lonely and misses her.

I would love to see a story on the Grifter. It would feel like a late 19th century Jason movie. That would just be terrifying to watch. But, what really unsettled me was the gouged eyes and Cyrus's incessant knocking of his hook on the wood pedestal. That was just....oof. Although, the most disturbing killer has gotta be Harry Rooker, the Milkman Killer.

My theory, i think the one who took the book is kates mother. Even tho we didnt see her mother or what. She wants to take a revenge for her daughter's death and especially her dead sister who kate mentioned that died in the nightwing? Maybe but we didnt know whos kates aunt if its alice, joan, sheila or just another person.
that's such a good theory! it cant be sheila since she was a sunnysider, in a video netflix made answering questions they say that kate's aunt appears in the arts and crafts trailer, and we never see her get murdered, we just see the match ominously go out. I like the theory that it's either kate's mother or the aunt though.

my theory (which isn't originaly mine) is that it's Sheila. In the second movie it never actually showed Sheila dying, it just showed her getting knocked out by Ziggy. Also adding onto the Sheila is still alive theory, Sheila would be around the age of Ziggy which means she would be old enough to have a kid, right? And in the movies it showed Sam''s mom as a white dark haired and dark eyed woman who has not been named yet... if you don't see where I'm going with this im pretty much just saying Sam's mother is Sheila. Anyways I know this may or may not be true but I think its a pretty cool theory.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Okay, well I have to say that as a somewhat jaded, cynical horror fanatic who has endured way too many trashy, predictable, lacklustre horror movies in recent years the Fear Street trilogy really impressed me. Yes, it didn’t reinvent the wheel or do anything particularly groundbreaking but by the end of Part 3 I was definitely more impressed than I’d initially expected. The cast really excelled considering there was a general lack of big names and the gore and FX were surprisingly effective and at times gleefully brutal. I could have maybe done with a less cluttered soundtrack and at times Parts 1 and 2 were a little heavy handed with the tunes as if to keep reminding audiences exactly what decade they were in. Likewise the ‘twist’ that C Bergman was Ziggy and not Cindy seemed pretty obvious given the over abundance of Bowie references … after all we’d just seen her mention her cat Major Tom and hear The Man Who Sold The World play in the background. Similarly I’d pretty much guessed Goode was bad if not the full extent of the past and I did like the realisation that Sarah wasn’t at all evil and just another victim of prejudice, injustice and everyday Satanic worshipping. Yeah, it’s a theme that’s prevalent in a great deal of horror cinema throughout the years but coupled with the LGBTQ themes gave the film a great deal more heart and soul than other lesser fare. I’d have preferred more practical FX but the CGI was well integrated and handled far better than recent films like IT which I thought lost a lot of its impact due to shoddy CG work.
Nonetheless, as someone who simply hit play one evening on Part 1 expecting to drift off after half an hour or so I thoroughly enjoyed the trilogy and would certainly be intrigued by future installments. So I’d probably give each film a good 7/10 and a hearty 8 for the entire trilogy. Cheers for the entertainment, guys x
