having bought numerous aftermarket body parts in the past, this video gives me PTSD. gotta pay to play, i only buy authentic now, and even those are never 100%.
I had to do 26 hours of body work to get a spoiler to fit a 350z with the same process. Like he said, try it and do it again. Try not to take too much and just keep trying is what it comes down too. Such a PITA. BUT WORTH IT IN THE END.
I love how the videos just end without an outro or anything. I sometimes click the screen to see how long the video is and then it ends. Lol

I don't think it's fair to call the aftermarket bumper junk when you don't have a straight car to install it on. That said I know a lot of the fiberglass ones don't fit perfectly, but you need to start with a clean slate before making such a claim. If your car was never hit in front, then your point would be valid. Actually, you should be careful making such claims, because it's possible some company might get their feelings hurt and file a lawsuit.
That said, thanks for all of your great videos! Rob deserves more subscriptions, people! Please help him out!
ah your learning so much Rob i wana cri lol problem with them fiberglass body panels. they dont wana stretch and they are really rigid, also i know in the front the oem has a big metal bracket attached to the bumper to bolt to the core support and the fenders have brackets as well that you can hold together and tighten when the fitment is how you like. unfortunately with fiberglass getting a little rough with them they can crack very easy.
This needs to be renamed “ how not to fit a junk bumper”. Lol

for the perfect line along that top edge, scribes are your friend~ and the passenger flap that sticks out? heatgun before you bondo, gently work that flap in, and avoid keeping the heat in one spot. work it over that whole corner area there, and a bit of the lower portion under the flap. you need it pliable, but not to where its reshaping itself under its own weight. should get that whole part in line with the fender profile without too much work.
Can’t you just apply some heat to those corners of the bumper where it sticks out to try and shape it

I think on the sides by the fender you might be able to add bondo to the back then sand down the front, but I’m no expert

Never use sandpaper coarser than 120, even 240 is pretty rough on bondo and paint. Work it slow and precise. I worked at a repair shop :D
The entire front end looks jacked. I don't think that bumper is bad. I think the front end of your car is fucked up.

My bumper on my TT has about the same issues so I'll be doing the same or similar prep work! Unfortunately in sub 20°-30° temps. Let's see whose turns out worse! ;)

Rob please its fillers and plastics not bondo. If you want to look for better quality plastics and primer try Montana Big Sky and HB Body. Buy some SEM Guide Coat for following body lines it'll save you.

Am i the only one who can see that right side of the car is pushed back? Like the fender/hood/headlight doesnt line up ....left side looks great.
It only looks that way because the left side of the hood was held up by the wastegate pipe and wasn't sitting flush with the headlight bucket, which makes the right side look pushed back because the gap is tighter.

When I see the quality of b is for build 's original RB Kit i don't see the use of buying a original kit
Minigunmann the thing is, pretty much all aftermarket fibreglass body kits will need work to get looking great Howe er great the quality. I reckon it is 10 days work on the average messed about with car to get it ready for paint prep. B is for Build spent about an hour and the axle positions were not stock either. That said, tha packaging and damage for that RB kit he bought was a mess. I have a suspicion it wasn’t original either.
