I can’t even find a place to buy a stickball bat in Queens anymore. Seemed like every bodega in town had them when I was growing up.

When we played stickball over 30 yrs ago, we spray painted a strike zone on the wall, used racquet balls and pitched hard! I've never seen this style of stickball! Grew up in Midwood Brooklyn!

In New Zealand we never really played stickball on the street but we did play Cricket and Rugby.

@Bishop Dong Magic Shlong yes it has and has been very popular in third world countries like Dominican Republic not urban areas like The Bronx, trust me I know because I happen to be Dominican who lived in the Bronx as a kid, so thank you very much.

Every time I see these MLB “play ball” things the kids are always black or Mexican. Not that I have a problem with that, but whites have the largest amount of people in poverty and I never see white kids in these programs to help kids in poverty. I also understand that this is Hispanic month, so that’s why there r more Hispanic kids, but I’m talking overall/in general. As a white kid who didn’t have a lot of money, I wish these programs would involve white children as well.
