OUR STORY
We're Meghan & Matt, two travelers from the United States on a journey to travel 1,000,000 miles! For 2 years, we lived in our self converted van and traveled all over North America! During this time, we caught the travel bug, HARD. So we set a goal to travel one million miles! Now, we’re hiking, biking, driving, flying and even training around the world to discover as much as possible! Recently, we sold our van and packed up our lives into bags and boarded a one way flight to Europe, leaving behind no house, no car and not even a house/car. From now on, we will be living our of suitcases and traveling full time. How long is this lifestyle going to last? I️ guess you’re going to have to subscribe and follow along to find out!

South Africa is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. So diverse and raw beauty and so many wonderful people.
We agree!
True story!!
Come back and visit again soon!!
The garden route is so beautiful, as a South African Im glad you enjoyed it, your footage and information is on point, there is so much to do in that route that you need a minimum of a month and a half to really explore many hidden gems in the area, there several animal parks to explore and the icon world record breaking bunjee Jump!!!!!
We had such an awesome time on the Garden Route! You’re absolutely right there’s so much more to do we did as much as we could while we were there, guess we’ll have to come back another time to do the rest! Glad you liked the video!
@@Meghanandmatt I thoroughly enjoyed it, I was there in January with my family it’s always refreshing to see what other people discover in the same place u visited so it makes u want to go back and explore some more, we went with kids so we had several limitations to what we could explore but we loved the scenery
@@thapelomogane8525 absolutely! We still talk about how beautiful it is
@alexiz.7569 yes Limpopo is beautiful
What about the R62 and the Wild Coast
Welcome to South Africa, I hope you enjoyed your stay and please come back again
We definitely want to! Thank you :)
Hi Meghan and Matt! I love watching your African adventure! Meghan your reaction to your first time encounters is hilarious, but also I recognize it from our first zebra’s, giraf, pinguïns.😃. It’s magical hey! Loved your visit to the Robberg Nature Reserve. Never been there, so on my to-do-list. We travelled to SA a first time in 1996 for our honeymoon. Been back many times, with our children too. Done Namibia and Botswana a first time last year. I can highly recommend! I guess you found out by now: once you visited Africa, you get hooked and want to go back... Must go watch you Addo edition now! 🦏🐘🦛
Hahaha you definitely get hooked! Such a beautiful country. Thank you for watching!
Meghan, love your impression of the sea lions! lol You should start all your videos with that! Really enjoying your adventure!
haha she also does a great seagull impression! Thanks for watching 🤙🏻
How do you guys not have more views?? Glad you enjoyed SA
We had an amazing time! Thanks for watching glad you liked the video
I love your attitude and the adventures that you are pushing yourselves to experience. I pray that you get more exposure online.
Cool vlog, there are countless of road trips in south africa that are just as beautiful.
I️ bet! One day, we will come back and do more
Love me a good oyster. And those views are insane!
NEED MORE OYSTERS!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful road trip experience with so many details. This video is helping me plan my trip to South Africa this November 2023
That’s gonna be a great time to go! Enjoy!
So refreshing to see things again "for the first time" through your experice of it... Sometimes we really take our country's beauty for granted
To obtain financial freedom, one must either be a business owner, an investor or both, generating passive income, particularly on a weekly and monthly basis. That's the key to living a financially stable life. This trick has never failed. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life and put this basis to work and practice. Jessica Darrell have been a great manager, mentor and guide. Her support and advice has helped shaped my crypto trading career.
I get a lot of recommendations for Jessica Darrell from friends. Her strategy must be good for people to testify a lot about her.
I have been getting so many recommendations about her as well
how do I reach her
For real she's very profitable
Whole life is a joke in every sense, the investment side of a whole life policy gives the poor return and stabilized the rich
How does this whole crypto thing works I'm interested in it and willing and ready to invest heavily but I need an assistant to properly guide me through on how to make a good startup and be successful in it without making mistakes
You came during like the rainiest month ever here! We just completed building our house in George and our builder said in the 25 years he has lived here it's never rained so much!
I believe it! We met a few people who said the same thing!
I am literally going through your whole channel watching your content, I am so happy you enjoying our South Africa! Your excitement with everything new you see makes me happy 😆 so glad you had a great time
we had an amazing time in South Africa! Thanks for watching :)
You should come in the summer. South Africa shows off in the summer.
We’d love to!
Durban is always summer 😊
Amazing!!!
Absolutely beautiful!! Meghan 10 on your seal impression! 😂 Yeah they are stinky! But even so very cute. What luxury with that hotel room! ❤
The cutest are also the stinkiest 🤢😂
0:42 Imbila (Dasi) Rock hyrax mostly fount on cliffs. it taste yummy lol
That was refreshing! You certainly know how to keep any viewer interested. 🎉🎈
Glad you liked the video!!
Awesome video! The garden route is absolutely stunning place, lots to see and do. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you liked it!! We’d love to do it again in Spring or summer
Yah its very beautiful
You can be glad you weren't here last week as we had very unnatural rain causing a lot of the places you visited in video 1 and 2 to be flooded. Floodings reaching as high as roofs of houses.
Glad you had an epic trip! In the most Southern Mississippi accent, "Ya'll come back now, you hear"
wow! That's a lot of rain. We will definitely have to come back in spring or summer!
I've done Robberg hike twice, its beautiful
It’s definitely one we will remember forever!
Storms River and Eastern Cape in general is my favorite part of South Africa 💓 I will look out to see if you travelled more of the Eastern Cape.
I absolutely love seeing Americans experience South Africa for the first time!
We absolutely loved our time in South Africa! Next time we’ll come in a less rainy season 😅
It food for my soul to see foreigners enjoying South Africa
No match for some of the scenery along the Garden Route, spectacular is not enough to describe the natural beauty, did the trip from north to south and the other way around a good few times. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Couldn't agree more!
Quick tip: If you're in the Mosselbay/George/Wilderness area, and you want to skip the rainy weather, just head over to behind that mountain @ 06:52 in the direction of Oudtshoorn. The weather is almost all the time sunshine because the rain-clouds get blocked
Great tip! We actually ended up taking that route back to Cape Town. BEAUTIFUL!!
0:43 I love this, "its a meercat!", but then in editing, "We were wrong" :D
I love your guys energy :)
those tricky dassies 😂
Durban has the most beautiful and sunny winter weather in all of South Africa
Durban and Limpopo don't get cold in the winter it's like Cape Town and P.E Spring 😉
next time, try visiting south Africa's own little las Vegas that being the city under the mountain...."SUN CITY"
Thanks, great video 😊 great trip. Unfortunately you did not see one the most beautiful place of Garden Route, Knysna. Perhaps next time you will 😊
Yeah we unfortunately didnt get to spend any time in Knysna but that gives us a reason to go back!
So beautiful. Loved the video. Very entertaining as always... You're making us miss the mother land already. Also what is the sound effect called that you used at around 20 mins when you spotted the baby baboons?
Thanks! We miss South Africa too can't wait to visit again! The sound is "record scratch 3" from Epidemic Sounds
I've had the privilege to have a holiday along the Garden Route... Extremely beautiful...
I'm from Mosselbay and have travelled the world (the western Cape's paradise),,,I must say I love your energy and honesty
Thanks for watching! We loved Mossel Bay and all of what we explored while in South Africa. Have a great day!
You guys do great reactions. EVen if you don't like it that much, you always have something positive to say - really nice.
Ah we appreciate it 🥹 we try to always look on the bright side
Very nicely done!
Your video editing is top notch.
Glad you like it!
Loved watching this thanks for taking the time to put it although watching from northern Ireland
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked the video
There is no cuter wild animal on this earth than a baby elephant.
They are super cute
Next time you're in George you should try out the hedge maze at the redberry farm!
Definitely! It was on the list of things we’ll have to go back for
Fun fact the Dassie is the closest living relative to an Elephant 😅. I know it sounds crazy but true.
Love a good dassie fact! Thanks for sharing
you guys are the best need more videos of South Africa u documented them very well
We’ll just have to come back and make more!
Such creative videos you’ve on this channel. I just subscribed!
Thanks for coming along for the ride!
The meerkat, dassie moment 😅. Alteast you saw an animal you wont see other places.
Cuter- the penguins at Boulders, Simonstown, Cape Town😊
I will say if you evaluate the standard of Stay + View + Food + Reception, Cape Town is the no.1 spot in the word. I just had a 3-course fine dining from Durbanville Hill wine, for 295 Rand and receive 3 tasting wines for free. It is easily worth $128 from any other wine farm in the world.
Howzit guys.. glad you enjoyed our beautiful country. There is so much more to see and experience in this God blessed country. Love your videos. Visit soon❤
Thanks so much! We will definitely be back some day!
I had the weirdest experience with a Dassie in Mosselbaai.
3 Dassies actually.
I live near here, Oudtshoorn, its nice to see it through your eyes
Would love to know what your weird experience was with the dassies. And we stopped in Oudtshoorn on our way back to cape town from Addo. We loved seeing all the rolling hills and mountains there
Dassie aka Rock Hyrax. Super cute little biters.
Omg so cute! Haha
Meerkat😂😂😂😂😂, had such a good chuckle!
Seriously wasn’t even close 😂
@@Meghanandmatt but you said so convincingly.
@@Jhetx I️ was just excited to be there 😂
Mosselbay in South Africa is beautiful
Truly!
Idk bout da seals being cute but definitely Meghan i agree Matt!! 😂
Such a pity you guys skipped over Knysna ... the Heads is a landmark there and its spectacular views of the ocean and estuaries.... soooo many amazing cafes and restaurants there and you get the best oysters there!!
I know we are bummed we didn’t get over there but it gives us a reason to come back!
Meerkat lol.. Yes it's a Dassie, strange fact, the Dassie is family of the.. Elephant.
When you look close enough they do kind of look related 🐘
It is NOT a Meerkat , it is a Rock Hyrax called a Dassie
The Winter is unfortunetly rainy along the coast in SA
Love you guys, and I hope you enjoyed South Africa, next time you must pop into Nelspruit(Mbombela), personally to me the most beautiful little city in SA. Wait, maybe you did come to Nelspruit, will watch further and see!
Why did you miss Knysna? That is one of the most popular tourist destinations along the garden route.
We explained in the video. Meghan wasn’t feeling well and the weather was bad
@@Meghanandmatt Knysna is amazing I"m sorry your wife wasnt feeling well, make sure you go there next time you visit, beautiful, scenery, harbour, resturants, lifestyle
@@thapelomogane8525 definitely!
I love you guys☺️
❤
I live in Plettenberg Bay - I have travelled the world and this will always be a slice of Heaven❤
Plett is beautiful! We miss that roadside cafe and Robberg Preserve!
16:02 epic shot
Thinking they're about to get profound about the baboon facts..." they have pink butt holes "😂
😂
at 48 sec that is a DASSIE or Rock Hyrax to give it the correct name 😀
We figured that out haha didn’t know if had another name
You must come to the Free State Bloemfontein
Those seals "smell so good" because they eat so good.😂
Can cant ever do everything :) If you ever come back do the tsitsikamma canopy tour.
Great capture of one of our beautiful attractions in SA... you say you love nature and marine life... I have to ask, (forgive me if I've not watched enough of your videos to answer this question), but do you scuba dive? If not, you need to come back to SA once you start scuba - we have underwater 'goldmines'!
Thanks! And nope, neither of us have ever scuba dived but it is something that looks like a ton of fun!
It's mind blowing... It will literally change your life, and all your future travels! Just do it!
❤️💕🙂
❤️❤️❤️
That is not a Meerkat. 😊 Yes, a Dassie
Sneaky lil dassies 😳
Sedgefield and Knysna, which is between Plettenbergbaai and Wilderness, you'll have to come back. Maybe in whale watching season
yeah we just missed the whales by a couple months! And we had plans for Sedgefield and Knysna but the weather was not on our side and Meghan got sick. Next time!
Mosselbay is my hometown
such a beautiful place!
You missed the garden... wilderness and Knysna
We got to spend some time in Wilderness but the weather and Meghan getting sick made us miss most of it. Just another reason to come back!
If you ever do I suggest you to visit the 3 places I think is the most beautiful. Start by returning to wilderness and go hike in the temperate rain forests. Then get yourselves to St Lucia and visit Cape Vidal. This is in tropical forests. Then you must see the blyde river canyon. Hope you return.
@@Meghanandmatt
YOU SHOULD HAVE GONE TO BABYLONSTERRYN
Don't tell me you missed the bungee jump in tsitsikama?
We skipped it, chickened out!
Fun fact they have really pink big but holes because they sit too much and then pick up infections from roads or other just debris lol
I️ read that the females buttholes will get extremely read when they’re ready to mate
Lol that is no meerkat. You will see many Dassies and if you lucky a mongoose
How come you missed Knysna 🤔 between plettenberg bay and wilderness
The day we were supposed to go, it rained 😩 we wanted to though
Truly the most beutifull country, notice how clean it is, unlike the USA
Garbage olong the freeways and city streets,.
Out of curiosity, are you from the US and have you been to South Africa?
You can have all the seasons in a couple hours down in the fair Cape/Cape of storms. Beautiful part of the country though! 🇿🇦
The weather really kept us on our toes lol
Please tell me you guys has biltong best snack ever sorry if my english is a little bit funny i are trying 😂😂 Afrikaans are my first language
Best route you could have taken, just the wrong time of year for this :/ probably the worst as this was the coldest and wettest winter the Western Cape saw in yearrrs!
yeah we thought we could have gotten lucky with the weather but we didn't. We still had a great time on the nice days and we would love to return some day!
Titiekama 😂
its pronounced 'duh' for dassie
Thats not a meerkat!!!😂😂😂
Did our Tourism Department Sponsor Youll To Say All These Great Things ?
nope we just genuinely loved our time here!
What kind of question is that?🙄
How u miss knysna
It was pouring rain the day we planned to go
When did you win the Lottery? How do you get money to upgrade your hotels ?
We don’t, we stay so often at marriotts that we earned titanium status. And if they have availability, they’ll upgrade status holders for free
Did you guys see an Aardvark??
(you’ll laugh when you learn how to pronounce it properly :)
Nope, didn’t see an aardvark while we were there
Welcome… now give me all your money 🔫🔫 😂
lol that’s a dassie
It is my opinion that a baboon should be donated to every tourist that arrives in Mzanzi for them to take home with them. Baboons are one of the great plagues to harass humankind.
Lol you guys are lucky the ANC isn't in charge of the western Cape.
No travel info, just coffee and food and another coffee and the next meal, Waste of time, sorry guys.😢
@@user-zn6to3zd2g it’s a whole entire road trip vlog I don’t know what video you watched
