  • Une grande voie mythique sur la grande Candelle !
Attention les cotations peuvent varier en fonction des topos, de la patine (surtout sur les premières longueurs) et du vide omniprésent le long de la grande voie.

Hello Hadrien! I loved the video of your excperience from Le Grande Candelle. It looked lovely. I was wandering how you would describe the difficulty of the climb. How bad is the 1st length? Have you done La Saphir in En Vau or the Arete du Vallon in this area.
And could you describe where you walk from the Col du Sugiton to find the right path? Is it easy to find the right path to the foot of the route?

Thank you for your comment, to reach the south cliff from col de sugiton you must go to col de La candelle, but just before this col you have a path with a Cairn on your right. Follow this, looking at "Le pas de rebuffat", then you find some rope to help you to go through the canyon at the bottom of the north cliff then go around the grande candelle to reach the south cliff.
The first pitch is hard even if you are confident in 5c difficulty, everything is polish.. And after, the next difficulty is a small athletic move in pitch 2 also polish. But except that the experience is awesome and the rest of the climb is good.
I have also done La saphir and arête du Vallon, you can find the videos on my channel, La saphir is very very polish but it's less difficult than La grande candelle, but it's better to avoid these two in summer (too many people and this is much slippery). According to me l'arête Du Vallon is the less polish of the three and you have good rock until the end :)
