VS, American troops of the 115th Inf Regt march along dirt roads near St Lo. Some soldiers resting along the roads. A wounded man is placed into ambulance,
Short FSs, prisoner with his hands up marches along road. Wounded man onlitter is placed in ambo. First aid men patch up a badly wounded soldier who is lying on the ground; he is placed into ambulance. A feW men walking along dirt road, others walking in opposite direction. To the right, sign: "St Lo". A few German prisoners are marched to the rear. American soldiers walk thru cemetery. They pause to look about. A small tracked vehicle marked "St Lo Express" comes to stop in road. (halation)A task force made up of component troops of the 29th Div (M-10 tank destroyers).

35th DIV, SPEARHEAD TO ST LO, FRANCE;18 July (INV 553)
Two soldiers of 320th Regt walk in the woods. An unident dead body lies at theright. Few soldiers climb over a log in woods. LS, soldiers make their way along edge of field. MS, two men pass between wooden post which formerly held a gate. Two men climb over grass. covered embankment in the woods and crouch inthe tall grass. Soldiers hugging the ground near embankment which leads into woods. A soldier takes out an entrenching tool and starts to dig. MS, a number of mendigging. CUE, look of apprehension on a soldier's face.LS, men resting against wooded embankment. Some digging, etc.
BATTLE FOR ST LO, - 18 July (Inv 552)
An ambo jeep flying a Red Cross flag speeds down a dirt road passing house tothe left. A motorcycle and another ambo jeep follows.
VS. M-3 tank twd and to L of camera; few 29th Div soldiers walk on road; American officers confer in street; M-10 motor carriage in street; cloud of smoke behind bldg; soldiers walk in village street; RV, soldiers in street, one points.
My uncle, Virgil Fisk was killed in the battle of St Lo. He was 22 yrs old.

This sh!t is so surreal as it take me back. As kids in the 1960s we played army like this because most of our fathers were in WW2 and these guys are doing the real thing we thought was just having fun.

luger has a pointy handle end, colt is flat like 2:37
which is also in line with being an officer carrying the thompson and the side arm and you can see briefly at 2:34 / 5 he's got stripes. he's also not wearing a backpack because someone is carrying his radio gear.
