Imagine never experiencing the fun that is CQB with a shotgun simply cause your so "above" using shotguns
ikr, shotgun and smg are made for cqb
why would you use a semi auto in cqb?
Honestly man, I was there for the last several years. Then, one day about a month ago my friend and I loaded onto argonne Forest and he was like “let’s try this out” and began blasting “Over there” through his headset. I am not a frequent war crime stick user.
They're never "above" them. They simply can't use them because they aren't good with them so they trash anyone that is. The same thing is in CoD. It's just toxicity and jealousy even.
Best battlefield in my opinion simple but lovely, adventurers, brilliant and a very good campaign

Regarding Germans being upset that Americans were using shotguns, if I remember correctly the Germans were upset that their use of poisonous gas was a war crime by the allies (Ironic considering that it was the French that used it first, both sides just adopted and finetuned it to be more deadly) so they felt the need to "lash back," as I call it, and claimed that the American's use of shotguns were also a war crime.
I can't remember where I read this, I'm afraid. Worst-case, it was something my History teacher in high school said when he answered a question. Best-case, I heard it from one of The Great War's videos when it was early in their series.
Remember reading also part of the complaint withdrawal of executing any Americans with shotguns was that the Americans would respond to executing any German flamethrower operators. But the use of chemical weapons was the main reason.
I loved using shotguns in battlefield one especially the M97, I would always get rage messages because someone was at the receiving end of my slam fire
Even back when BF1 was the BF game of the week, hardly did I ever see anyone rolling with the M97 Trench Sweeper variants (Besides me). Sweats were always rolling with the A10 Hunter variant.
I wouldve absolutely clowned him for switching to a shotgun after getting ratioed by basically the entire lobby

I love to snipe at Fort DV and they hate my 40+ star Martini Henry infantry. That gun is just sooo satisfying. Btw, love your BF1 content

Hey Dave, I got a recommendation for you, on assault near the top, there’s a slug shotgun that has quite the range, and a hell of a damage output. Would love to see you give a try!
I was all about the slug shotguns back in Bad Company 2 but for some reason didn't use 'em much in BF1... maybe I should change that

@@isharpedge8469 I mean six years can be a lot of time especially for people who are older, I remember thinking a decade was a long-ass time as a kid but now in college the moments I had back in 2016 when BF1 just feel like a generation away. Hell, the time I went boating with my friends back in 2020 feels a bit like a lifetime ago cause all of our lives began picking up right after (One of us got married and moved out of state, and another was just given a position where he actually has staff under him). You'd be surprised how much can change - and feel - when it's been even two years.

To be fair shotguns do not take skill, point and shoot if your close range it's a kill. Hard to miss with a shotgun lol. Regardless people complaining about a gun in the game Is dumb.

I had the same realization back when the Automatico M1918 Storm was the top SMG pre-nerfing. Got mad at people hosing me down and concluded "I'll just do it too".
Depends on which patch, on some patches for BF1 it was utter garbage while on others it is a death machine
They're OP in real life too. How many people do you think survive being shot in the chest point blank with a 12 gauge shotgun?

I remember when I first played and I unlocked the trench gun hunter and that’s what I mainly used. Surprisingly I never got any angry messages but some people should tbag when they got the chance

I never really ran into salty players while maining a shotgun, but then again, usually ignore any mic or chat while playing. I'd imagine I'd get a few words from players being longshotted with the 1900, never tired of doing that to people.

I am a main with the hell fighter shotgun because I like close quarters but am also a support main
I'm strictly a melee user but if I see a snipe a whiles a way ill take it, would love to see you try and play melee. Doubt you could make a video out of it!

Reasons y i only use 2 barrel shotguns at least i give the oppenents a chance to hit me and the only time that i do use a pump action shotgun is the slugs cause they can be the same use as a rife
I played the hardcore equivalent and used only bolt actions cuz muh history it can be fun or it can be hell 5 times out of 10 it's hell

Having lived through Frag-12 hell in BF3, I can safely say these guys have nothing to complain about in regards to modern Battlefield shotguns.
What's funny is that in RL the shotgun is almost always gonna scare the hell outta the enemy and make 'em stop whatever they're doing and give up. It's a real equalizer on the actual battlefield.
It actually takes skill to use shotties in these games. You have to know how to stay out of the line of longer distance fire and how to close distance properly. I prefer LMGs, but I do enjoy using Shotguns from time to time.
Gotta love running shotguns on Fort Dimmadome.

On an unrelated note, that's why TF2 medic detests using shotguns but has no quarrels turning syringes into deadly projectiles fired rapidly from a modified syringe gun.
People act as if the bf1 shotguns are over-powered. They always seem to take at least to shots to kill from a 10m away, They were nothing like the snipers they were in bf3 and bf4 hitting one shots from 20m away.
if you can only use the shotgun as allies, you should only use gas as axis..

I never have good luck with shotguns in this game. People usually end up with 1 to 3 health and kill me, or they take no damage and kill me. I am quite good with a few guns that aren’t used much though and the chat here is why I only play on official servers as the admin has kicked me for “cheating” multiple times just because I got on a good kill streak. Most people can’t stand it when someone absolutely wiped the floor with them so the scream hacker. It was the same server all 3 times too lol the admin got pissy because I kept killing him.

Its funny that people complain about shottys being one shot, because my main shottys i ever use are the model 10 hunter ad 1900 factory, sometimes the slug version of both, and i cant tell u how many hit markers i get with what used to be the most OP gun in the game...granted the slug is way different, but for hunter or sweeper shotguns, i still manage to get hit markers...but then again im also terrible at this game especially with shottys so i opt of other guns instead...

i really think they should have made faction specific guns and a faction can only use their guns then people would have a wider range of gameplay and skill with different guns and immersion would be way better

I only use the trench gun in BF1 no matter the map, it’s my favorite gun. Yes my K/D is god awful but I have fun. I’m addicted to flanking the enemy and just unleashing hell. Also besides single player games, I feel BF1 is a game where the shotgun is actually viable online.

People that use the shotgun are animals that live in the muck and mire of chaos. They need to get in close to get kills. They’re a different breed I tells ya. Effective shotgunners are NOT noobs. Lol
I agree, the shotguns don't exactly have rapid fire, if you miss it will probably end you, especially with everyone running smg or something similar

I play BF4 with the 870 and you should hear them AEK users bunny hopping around when I kill them 😂 I have like I think 80k kills with the 870 I’ll go like 60 and 5 with it 😂😂😂👍🏻
