I'm a Stade Toulousain fan. I'm sorry for the result and I think our record of 5 Champions Cup will be joined by Leinster. Anyway, Leinster deserve to join 5 wins because they're an outstanding side and they express a wonderful rugby style. Well done, Leinster: congratulations and best wishes for the Final.

Sorry I can't agree. Yes he's getting better to be fair to him . But I feel he goes off talking about things at the wrong time in games trying to show he knows things about a player and then falls behind the play. It's the pundits job to talk about that stuff in down time in games not the Commentator. A good Commentator's job is to keep you informed on is to keep you informed on what's happening on the pitch you should be able to leave the room and listen and know what's going on and where on the pitch the game is ! Not come back in the room and have missed 10 passes or 30 metres of play. But hopefully he keeps learning 🙏 for example for the first Try he mentioned Jack Willis in the move and feels he has to say who had a Difficult 6 nations . But while he's saying that the move is getting closer to a try but he's missing Excitement of the build-up because he's decided to bring up the player had a Difficult 6 nations which has nothing to do to do with the game or move at that time..

    @perthshirewildfoods8760 Pƙed rokem +24

to me (a supporter of neither side), the game was a lot closer than the scoreline suggested and I felt that some crucial decisions went in Leinster's favour, more than Toulouse that could have changed the outcome of the game.
For me - 3:24, Porter does not come through the middle of the maul, just hangs on the side/looses bind early, therefore offside when pressuring Toulouse 22, which would disallow the try that Leinster score just afterwards.
This puts the game at 20 - 7 and when Toulouse score the next try, it would go to 20 - 14 and both teams are still chasing the win, which changes the dynamic of the game significantly.
Porter does take the player over the vertical, and at the very least should have been checked by the TMO, and probably should have been a yellow card. Which again changes the dynamic further. And puts a lot more pressure on Leinster and opens the game up for Toulouse. (Who would have been only a converted try behind if previous try was disallowed). Even as it stood, 2 scores behind against 14, you would fancy Toulouse putting scores on the board.
And then we come to the second yellow. For me there's nothing in it. Wayne Barnes is standing right in front of it and doesn't bat an eyelid. VDF is coming in high and aggressive. For me it's just a rugby incident, play on. At this point the game is ruined. Leinster get an attacking platform and an extra man, and score a try right away. At this level of competition, any advantage is massive and Leinster go on to profit from it.
On a side note, I felt Toulouse were stronger in the scrums too, but did not seem to get as many penalties as they should have until later in the game, some even given to Leinster that I felt could have gone to Toulouse.
Toulouse were overall not as slick as they could have been when they lost their centre early in the game and Dupont had to act as a floater. This made a big difference in the game. Overall Leinster played well, but not as well as the scoreline suggested. It small differences at this level that wins games, and it home advantage seems to sway referees more often than not.
I just a rugby fan, I've played rugby to a high level and just want to see a good and fair game. I understand that referees cannot get every decision right, but inconsistency in refereeing at the moment is frustrating.

There's an awful lot of ifs and buts there to factor in and somehow conjure a Toulouse win. For the blind people out there who think Porter tackle was not "past the horizontal" here it is at 4:00
Do what the TMO could not bother to do, have the replay working, have your pause button working.
You see the legs of the winger above his arse? Yeah that's considered PAST HORIZONTAL. Your feet go 11-12 o'clock that's pretty past horizontal if you can read your watch. Above 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock that's horizontal. The winger's legs were at 11- to 12 o'clock, that's vertical upside down aka DANGEROUS TACKLE. And then there is the landing, normally the tackler must show that he attempted to slow down the impact onto the ground... yeah that one is even worst. Not only did Porter lift that winger way above "past horizontal", he absolutely smashed him onto the ground. It is like he tried to clean himself off that winger. He is going to be suspended, there is no other way.

@@luccornic9980 On the Porter tackle - am I right in saying that both incidents you mention (the tackle off the ball and the dump) take place in the same incident at 37 mins? If so, is there not an argument for (1) him already being committed to the tackle on 14 (therefore it not being a tackle off the ball and not warranting any yellow card - which wouldn’t usually be a yellow card anyways) and (2) the tackle not going past the horizontal, so not warranting a yellow card? I’m not sure of rules regarding dump tackles, but I don’t ever recall seeing a yellow card for a dump tackle that doesn’t past the horizontal.
On the VDF incident, I think it’s fair to say it was a bit soft. In my eyes it was a yellow, but I can see why you would think otherwise.
In any case, I really don’t think the above incidents can at all correlate to Toulouse being robbed/Leinster being lucky. Outside of the yellow cards, Toulouse were still outplayed. I mean, who clears out a ruck with their head? I think it could be a red, but I could see someone making a letter-of-the-law decision that given there was little head content, that it should only be yellow. I also have seen many people arguing that vdf was diving and acting, as though he was a footballer like Neymar or something. He grappled down, and there was zero attempt to wrap. Imagine that had happened to a French player in Toulouse. Would they be arguing that their own player was acting and wasn't fouled? I've said this many times before that the best teams whether at international level or club level are refereed more leniently at the breakdown and I've been watching rugby for 50 years and nothing has changed. You aren't allowed to go off your feet when clearing out at a breakdown according to the laws of the game but the law isn't applied consistently whether during a match or equally for all teams. As anticipated, Leinster home advantages (aviva, crowd, ref, tmo) was the difference for Leinster vs a Toulouse team which was not helped by the ref and their clumsy choices.
They perfectly took advantage of Toulouse Yellow cards advantages scoring 28 of their 40 points.
But i can certainly understand Toulouse fury when the TMO and Barnes refused to check Porter dangerous tip tackle... It was the turning point of the match. Yellow cards influence on the game are enormous in these matchs.
Ps: Regarding this scenario, Leinster fans should really avoid to give 'fairplay' lessons. Btw, we're talking about the same Leinster fans saying Barnes was anti irish to explain their defeat vs la Rochelle... Which is quite ironic.😅

When I saw Barnes, I knew we weren't going to win. Then, what makes us lose the match is the management of Barassi's exit. Graou in the scrum, it was a disaster (poor thing). It would have been necessary to put RetiĂšre back, Ramos in 10 and Ntamack in 3./4 and leave Dupont in the fray. At that time of the game for Graou it was too hot. He was then able to level up, but the gap was made. And in 10, Ramos' creativity might have made it possible to come back. In short, a match that changed in a very short time. A nightmare !
