I’m with the person that said they grew up listening to Skid Row & never thought anyone could replace Sebastian, until you. The first time I ever listened to you, I didn’t WANT to like you!😂 But you’re amazing & on top of being a great singer, you seem like such a great guy! I’m about to turn 50 in March, have always had a lot of health problems & feel like I’ve learned a lot from you and how you’ve dealt with your own situation. You have such a positive attitude & way of looking at things. I’m so glad that Skid Row found you & helped me find you too!😊

Haha love the honesty, thank you very much for that. Funny thing is that I don't look at it like I'm replacing someone. I know nothing lasts forever and for me it's all about showing my respect to what Sebastian did on the first albums when I sing those songs. Hell... as a fan I wouldn't mind a reunion! But for now I'll just do the best I can with what I have.
hell yeah, I try to remember that the young guns in music have been inspired by the veterans in the first place, so it works out for all musicians who work hard at thier craft to earn the respect & gratitude of thier fans
After Sebastian left Skid Row I didn’t even know they made music anymore: you made me love them again. If we are talking voices and talent alone I love BOTH you and Sebastian Bach.

How you came into success, the obstacles you had to overcome, and the way you brought a classic band back from the brink of extinction, all make me realize if I put my mind to it my dreams are always within reach. Best singer they had had since Sebastien. And he seems like a cool guy. Saw him with Skid Row in December and it was a great show and Eric was the highlight. He really put everything into it and had great interaction with the crowd. Keep rocking Eric.

Erik, your work in HEAT opened me to a whole bunch of music I didn't know I was missing.
I was talking to a friend in 2017, saying "I wonder if anybody still makes the 80s hard rock I love so much". Did a Google search and there was a top 10 list. On that list was "It's All About Tonight". Within about 10 seconds, I KNEW.
I went down a rabbit hole thanks to the Heavy Harmonies forum. HEAT, Eclipse, Sunstorm, Jorn, and a bunch of other groups. I'm finding more new music now than I did 30 years ago.
And it all started with that opening riff.
So, thank you.

Been a Skid Row fan since literally just about day one. Saw the debut video on MTV and became an instant fan. After Bach left I checked out. BUT! long story short.... you brought me back to the band! Love what you do, and seen you with Skid Row several times and can't wait to see you guys again. Keep up the great work!

I met the Skid Row guys in Dallas- back when Johnny joined the group, and they were also great to hang out with and treated everyone like old friends. Skid Row is back, and I love the new album! Hi, Erik, I know I'm not saying anything you haven't heard countless times, but your voice is certainly a gift.
I came across your channel one year ago and have enjoyed the content I've watched thus far, but it wasn't until I heard you say that up until birth there is no existence that I felt led to comment.
From the videos I've seen, you strike me as an intellectual and well-read and was just curious if you've ever read the Biblical book of Jeremiah, specifically, chapter one, verse five that seems to indicate preexistence in some capacity. There are other passages that lend support, such as Ephesians 1:4 and Ecclesiastes 12:7.
Anyway, just wanted to share that, and thank you for sharing your gift with us. 🙂

Hey you answered my question at the 12 minute mark (my friend and I were at the Fort Lauderdale show) and man, besides absolutely nailing that show, you really are an inspiration. You didn’t let being sick stop you from achieving your dream and whenever I feel let down, I look to you and how you’re a living example of making it into such a huge group like Skid Row.

Congrats on beating cancer. I never had to go through chemotherapy but I did lose my left kidney to renal cancer 3 years ago. Hope everything goes well for you and hears to a long future. I became a huge Skid Row fan as a 10 year old metal head back in 1990, and as time went on and Bach left, I kind of stopped paying attention when new singers joined (though I still listened to the first 3 albums regularly). I heard that you had joined, and was like "ok, just another singer to fill in...", and then I heard you, and holy shit you are incredible and a perfect fit for the band, and have given Skid Row a second life, something I never thought was possible.

I used to listen to Skid Row a lot, but after Bach left, my journey of interrest went on an other path. My heart is filled with joy after you joined Skid Row. I must say that was a good decition by the band. I am not getting younger, but I felt like 18 again. Take care, stay cool.

Sebastian Bach was part of an era
of Skid Row, and that era is in the past. I really like his solo career, I go to shows... but Skid Row found the best vocalist for the new era, You: sings with the energy that sets the stage on fire, powerful voice, incredible timbre, does drives and a clean voice when he wants , he's drop dead gorgeous (which is a bonus) and is also super attentive to his fans! This place is super deserved by you!! 🔥🤘

Erik, been following you since your beginnings. Now im a little older, i don't remember some of it, but at least a good portion of it lol. Anyway, i was stoked when i found out you were going to front Skid Row!! You definitely filled those big shoes and then some as far as im concerned. So glad you made it through your illness, and totally support your decision to pull away from the band and all the rigorous touring so you can keep focus on your health first. It was a real shock when I discovered Skid Row with the first seconds of the song Slave To The Grind, I still remember it. I adore the 2 first albums. I like also Thickskin, its really cool ! But my third kickass with Skid Row was The Gang's All Here. I thought : Here we go again !
This title kills ! And songs like Time Bomb, The Gang's All Here or Tear It Down are as strong as 18 And Life, Slave To The Grind or I Remember You.

I just want to say when I first heard you were singing for Skid Row, a band I grew up listing to as a teen, I did not know what to make of you. You were obviously no Sebastian stylistically. You have your own thing. Then I started seeing the covers you were doing, and it did not take long for me to become a fan of yours and then equally embraced what you bring to Skid Row.
All that being said, my respect for you has just grown leaps and bounds by your answer to the question about being compared to SB and have you spoken with him. Well said sir and way to keep it real. I hope you always have your head screwed on straight and humility in check as you do now. I'm just very impressed with the way you comport yourself.

I appreciate your take on the Skid Row's songs. I've said it before. Skid Row has captured lightning in bottle twice with you and Sebastian. Thank you for the respect you show for the original song, but put yourself into them. As a musician myself I find that great otherwise your are a karaoke band. No offense to the other singers Skid Row has had they aren't you or Sebastian, yep, haha, before you that I never thought I'd say. It's Skid Row again. No offense to Mr. Bach; you have me torn.

Watching videos of people post live videos of recent Skid Row shows encourages me to play again. Hearing live vocals, through a P.A. or acapella, give me goose bumps when done right. You do that to me ever time especially those high notes. Keep up that hard work.

Skid Row has always been great! It was great with Sebastian and the way they were. It's so great now with you!!! You and Sebastian's voices are so different. His is good but your voice is so beautiful and amazing. Especially with the cover songs. I'd never heard a man sing Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You before until I heard you sing it and it was so beautiful that I cried.
I 100% agree with you on how cancer/leukemia can change your outlook on life.
I have for most of my life been a negative person. Always moaning about trivial shit. Always expecting the worst.
When I was diagnosed with blood cancer after what was a complete misfire of my brain (I won't go into the details as that's all on my channel if you feel like watching it), my initial reaction when I was told was "Ok, fair enough. Now what do we do?" ... I was so calm and laid back about it all. All through the treatment I remained positive, cracking jokes, laughing with the nurses and just generally being chill, and I think that attitude helped the treatment work better.
Since it's all been done and dusted, had the stem cell transplant , got the all clear, my outlook on life has totally changed. I don't want to do a job I hate, working my fingers to the bone for money. I would rather do something I enjoy for less money and have a more relaxed life. I don't let shit stress me out. I don't see everything negatively anymore.
I am not religious or spiritual, but I am certainly more at peace with myself and life in general (although I do still have gamer rage ha ha)

I ran into Sebastian Bach when a friend and I were bored and decided to walk down Hollywood Blvd. I was in my teens and he had just walked out of a bar. The bar was literally one door that led out onto the blvd. No signs above the door and no line to get into the bar. He walked out by himself. I told my friend “Hey that's Sebastian Bach!” and I turned in the direction he was going. My friend talked me out of following him or this would have been a much different story to tell. I had a huge crush on him back then in my teen years. He is still easy on the eyes. That night he looked sad with his head hung low as he walked alone in the evening night sky. I had an overwhelming sense that he was very sad, but I will never know why.
Mate, I so much applaud you for what you’ve gone through. I so much love for what you’ve had the strength to go through. I so much for what you have to go through in life itself to get tested to make sure you’re okay every day I understand where you’re coming from mate my mother, she passed away from school cell cancer, priming the lung second of the brain, my uncle passed away with cancer I have cardiovascular disease. I have kidney disease, but I live each day at a time that’s all I can do. I can’t do anything else. I will not go on dialysis because I know what dialysis does cause my partners father was on dialysis, and I do not want to go through the same thing he went through. It was just prolonging life I’d rather go in one big bang mate as a Welshman as a Welshman. I just wanna make sure my dogs and my cat safe after I go that’s all that matters to me for I love animals I’m an animal lover. I volunteer my time, my volunteer money over to WWF to help them save those not do what we are doing to them. I’m a good person and I’ve never done hard to anyone, but I just hope my next life if I have a next life will do me justice for this time that I’ve had on this earth God willing I will have the next life God bless you protect you and may God always look over you and look after you.
