  • Sharing DIY Sunflower Fairy House Jar, works with Homemade Clay (Air Dry). Yeah..I've recycled my chili sauce jar and turn it to something to play with. It's fun and fulfilling.
    I used color changing LED tealight candle so it's added drama to the house. Since I have elaborate sunflower roof, I try to keep the house SIMPLE ..LOL with many openings so, the light will shine out.
    What clay I use? I use air dry clay homemade clay but this time I've added few pieces of tissue while kneading the clay to strengthen the clay. It works amazing!
    And then, I used food colors to color the clay. It works well but be careful though because when the clay wet, the color may transfer to dry clay when it touches each other.
    You can see in the video I use Vaseline to smooth the clay and also oil before leave the clay aside to dry.
    Of course you can use store bought air dry clay too to make this project if you familiar with that.
    Hope you enjoy watching my video. If you do, please like, share and subscribe.
    Your support will encourage me to make more videos.

    Hi there, I love this sunflower! You know, I'm new to the air-dry clay. I've made different kinds, I have not found one that I absolutely love with yet.
    The one I'm working with now I want to do a sunflower on top of my house. But the trouble is the clay is so soft and limp. I don't know what else to say about it. But if I make a leaf and try to send it on a cookie sheet it gets misshapen. So since I did color the clay I suppose I'll just try to put it directly on like you do on most of your videos. I love you girl, keep them coming ❤️ be well

Un grand merci🙏. Mais j aurai une question, si j ai bien compris(?) Vous passez de l huile au pinceau dessus? Pourquoi? Est ce pour remplacer le vernis? Merci

    I really wish I could do with my clay what you're doing with yours right now. Unfortunately I'm stuck with cold porcelain clay. Because I don't dare use any toilet paper right now. I wish I could. But I haven't been able to buy toilet paper and at least two months. In the kleenex I've been using I definitely don't want to waste 😂

    • @clayitnow
      @clayitnow  Před 4 lety

    I do like the texture of your clay. I've been cooking cold porcelain. It seems to perform better when I overcook it 😂
    Someday when I can buy toilet paper again and I'm not having to use Kleenex, I want to try a different recipe. I think yours has flour and paper. I think you worked in on a big piece of parchment paper. I do watch your videos. All the time LOL have a great day ❤️ be well
    Oh, I know what I wanted to tell you about. A year ago I saw probably on Pinterest somebody put a fairy door on their wall in their hallway. Before I knew it was a fairy door I was thinking it was a Funny Mouse door. Like in cartoons. Have you thought about making anything like that? I figure you've probably heard of it already. Bye hun

      @@clayitnow home made porselane clay (cold clay). I doing one little house with this clay. For now looks good. Must dry. If everythink will be ok with this house this mean that my homemade porcelace clay is ok. For my clay i use potato flour two tablespoon lemon juice two tablespoon oil and wood clay. Wood clay and potato flour i use the same part. I mix everything and done. Looks white and flexy. Looks good. I use this doing my house.

    Does your clay recipe rot over time? I tried the paper Mache clay recipe from gourmet paper Mache which uses many of the same ingredients, and it rotted if I didn't use it all. It was fine when dry but even though keeping it in the fridge helped it last, it did rot eventually.

    • @clayitnow
      @clayitnow  Před 5 lety

      Well, like all air dry homemade clay, wet clay will not last long.. it will moldy overtime. But as you’ve said dry clay is fine. So, I always work with small batch of clay just enough for 1 or 2 craft projects 😊

    • @clayitnow
      @clayitnow  Před 3 lety

      What clay you use? Sometimes the cracks appear at joining parts if you don't overlap and blend it well because the clay pulling effect/ shrinkage during drying time. Or because the clay dry too fast.
