- Continuing Halloween month here are the spooky Wendigo sounds I came up with. Rather than try and create something realistic to what the Wendigo was, I simply wanted his sounds to be scary and imposing.

If any of you awake to hear these sounds, and see something large, white, and hairy traipsing around outside of your house.. don’t be alarmed; it’s just me. I’ve been known to roam through the woods naked at night.
I like how a lot of people are joking about hearing a real wendigo making these sounds...I just want to point out that "real" wendigos have been heard as sounding like a mix between a bear and a deer

0:06 is terrifying. The buildup with the weird mix of what sounds like a wolf howl that descends into a horrific roar really embodies the bizarre nature of the Wendigo

That's pretty taunting considering they can probably or from what I've heard run up to about 60 or 80 miles an hour

I use the roar at 2:00 Mark for a Wendigo style beast in my D&D game. And I’m pretty sure every player at my table went white when I played it! It was absolutely terrifying and set the atmosphere beautifully. Wonderful work!!

This is not even the creepiest noise a cannibal spirit can make. They are able to immitate voices by peering into peoples minds and read their thoughts and memorys.
They can simply lure you towards them. You wouldn't know if its your friend or the monster until its too late
They can also read your mind to know what you fear the most

I love Horror and everything Horror related but encountering the Wendigo would truly be a Hangout date from Hell if you really want to test your fears and theories
My friends would jokingly call me a vampire because I don't like garlic and have very pale skin. If they saw the bodies and strange artifacts I have hidden in the basement, they'd probably call me wendigo instead.

@@Ex0tic0001 no not joking. I assumed it was something being killed at first. The squeeling sounded like a smaller animal. The thing that made me think it sounded strange was the fact that it had a deeper bass tone to it. It didn't sound exactly like this but very similar. I was in some woods just off the eastern side of old scab mountain. It's located east of mount Rainier in Washington State. Honestly dude we get all kinds of weird stuff up here. Bigfoot sightings are the most common. There are also lots of stories that come out of areas east of st. Helens that seem kinda similar to a lot of the skin walker stuff online; never experienced anything like that though.
It was probably an elk in rut, a good portion of that cry is just elk sound with roaring behind it. Terrifying, but nothing more than a horny horned animal lmao

I had a dream that I befriended one named Brent one time. That was probably one of the nicest wendigos I have ever met...well dreamworld wise lol
The reason is actually kind of cool, it’s the same reason why games like subnautica are scary even though the monsters will almost never kill you. It’s because humans naturally fear the unknown. In that example, dying and respawning in a game breaks the immersion and reminds you that it’s a game. With this video, the reason why you got calmer was because you got used to the sounds. The more familiar we are with something, the less scary it is.

2:54 I love that the growling slowly gets quieter and less aggressive. It's as if the Wendigo has temporarily satisfied it's ravenous appetite for flesh and can finally have a moment of peace before it must feed once again.

The modern wendigo is different from the original wendigo in the design of the head! The first wendigo (or windigo) stories said nothing about deer heads!
