  • Embakasi East MP Babu Owino on Tuesday, July 9, issued bursary forms to parents in Donholm and Soweto.
The legislator took the opportunity to clarify queries raised by the Auditor General’s report on bursary issuance.
He lamented challenges the constituency is facing in the process, citing failure by parents to return acknowledgement receipts to the CDF offices.
This anomaly, he said, cuts across most constituencies in Kenya, and raises unfair audit queries.

Why should we not consolidate all bursaries from the Office of the President, governors, MCAs, women representatives, and MPs? If we pooled that money together, we could send it directly to all high schools and make education entirely free. I believe that having multiple avenues for bursaries fosters corruption, as a significant amount of money gets stolen before it reaches the common mwananchi.

Why not the government send the bursary direct to the schools. Wamama wengi wametumiwa in the na of nitakupea bursary. Its a way for politicians to earn votes from the needy parents. The government should reconsider

Babu Owino needs to be accountable for his actions where justice did not prevail, in his favor.

Your job is to streamline the systems so that there is no room to steal. But i think you don't do that so that it's easy to steal money. How can you ask the people to bring receipts? There has to be a better way that money can be tracked.
