    In this video we disassemble (and reassemble) the front wheels of a Stokke Xplory in order to show how to replace faulty components without replacing the wheels in their entirety, The most common component requiring replacement in this procedure is the ball bearings which can rust and break over time, especially if not regularly lubricated, leading to loose wheels, stuck wheels, wobbly wheels etc.

    Brilliant video, thanks so much for posting this. Used it to clean all the nasty nether regions hair , dirt and dust from a V5 I picked up used in great shape. I did it with the wheels on the stroller so it is possible and not difficult at all. Thanks again!

    Are bearings inside the front wheel the same across all Xplory models? They sell a lot of replacement bearings on internet e.g. eBay but the compatibility is unclear. I have a V1.. Thanks tons, awesome videos.

      I will use 608D. There is some difererence on innner ring ( original is wider)but can be solved with few ss washers.

    Hey there, your previous video was super helpful to getting the wheel off, and this video was a great tool to get into the ball bearing. However, I can't actually get the ball bearing off because I can't get the central axle off - it appears to have rusted onto the ball bearing - is it possible to disconnect the two? We've applied a very liberal amount of Wd-40 and removed a lot of the hair that we can access, but no dice - been at it for about an hour now. We don't have power tools to cut the axle.

      There are rust eating chemicals that might help, but it's really mostly about elbow grease when this happens unfortunately - trying to pound it out with a hammer. :)

      @@BarnevognverkstedNo Thank you - I'd already tried that for over an hour, but no dice, sadly. This might be a "replace the whole wheel assembly" kind of situation. Any advice on where to find these wheels?

    I’m wondering the same thing - what is the specs for the ball bearing (my Stokke is v2) and where I might buy it? I’m in Canada. At the hardware store? A car parts store? I have no idea where to start. Thanks for the video - exactly what I need to do.

      I'm not sure I have any v2 wheels at the moment, but I'll put up the answer as soon as I get some in again :)

      See my comment above. Use some high end sewing machine oil on them and keep spinning them until all the gunk comes out. Worked like a charm for me and no need to buy new ones.

    Do I need to remove the hair that gets stuck in the front wheels axels? I am kinda scared of disassemble them and brake something

    • @BarnevognverkstedNo
      @BarnevognverkstedNo  Před rokem

      It depends a bit on how rusted and worn the bearings are and whether you're willing to buy replacement components if the wheels fall apart. Sometimes with older models, the hair is the only thing holding the bearings together at this point. :)

    Anyone knows the version of this Stokke Xplory? Mine is made in 2013 so I believe is V4 and wheels and fork look exactly the same. However the bearings look nothing like in the video. Any idea where I can get wheel replacements? Stokke won't provide as they are 'too old'
