Hi. Went to my local Model shop this morning and came back with Takom's Sonderkraftfahrzeug 250/1 (61AUD/41USD) and Tamiya's KS600 Motorcycle and Sidecar (30AUD/20USD).
And then I watched todays CZcams video. Eerie! (Some sort of telepathy/mind control?).
And I bought Tamiya's new Livestock set (3 x dogs, sheep x 2, cow, horse & pig, for dioramas, vignettes etc.........Aaron! 🙂 ) 14AUD/9.50USD.
Pretty good value for great, new kits.
Viper!!! ( I can't find a kit!)
Fun episode! Thanks. Matt🦘🦘🦘
I really love watching these videos every Friday. Keep up the great work and keep on laughing.
You guys definitely have fun at work....X-wing versus Viper versus Tie-fighters. Im an X-wing guy myself.
Now about mixing real dirt with PVA glue, while you two were talking about whether you should or not. I was thinking about scale. This my thought that real dirt is over scale unless it was very fine. I tried to use playbox sand for texture on a north africa diorama and didnt like the way it came out, ended up using Vallejo and AK north africa ground effort materials and it looked a lot better. Still trying to create variouse vegetation, catus, scurb brush, and plam trees.
Nice to see (some) progress on the horses and wagon.
Yeah, can't wait for the finished model. Curious how all those Clydesdale horses came out.
Fun tip. If you are dealing with a kit molded in a bold color like that red Chrysler body spray the plastic with silver paint first, then primer it. I don't know why (maybe you can research it Tim) but the silver paint kills the plastic color and it will not bleed through.
That's very true! Silver does kill plastic color and it is an excellent light blocker, too. -TK
X wing! But I do like the design of the new viper.
Also, liked the Starfighter discussion at the end.
Both the X wing and viper are basically aeroplanes in space, they look cool although I think the x wing edges the viper, but neither would function the way they are depicted, the B5 starfury on the other hand looks and operates the way something should in space. Definitely one of the best looking space fighters.
@@bobrivett7645 Well yes, supposedly. But I doubt they would work well in atmosphere either, the X Wing has wings but they're not aerofoils just flat slabs and while the Viper kind of looks more aerodynamic I suspect both would have the flight characteristics of bricks. Obviously that's not an issue for the Starfury which is a purely space based vehicle. Don't get me wrong, I'm not some techno nerd who demands all SF spacecraft ridgedly follow the laws of physics! I think they're all fun!
Remember, Vipers can fire reverse thrust and fly backwards (at least in the original series)
Viper is cool, but I want an X wing in battle config for the spread of the four guns.
You think that was a weird conversation at the end about vipers vs x-wings? You've never seen the conversation Lister and the Cat have about the Flintstones on the TV show Red Dwarf (series 3 episode 1)
Never heard of a PINK primer but would be interested in a SILVER primer. I would have to go with the Viper! I was a bit more of a BSG geek than Star Wars fanboy back in the day!
Compare the two to B 5's Starfury. It has reaction controls which makes it far more maneuverable. Saying that, the BSG's reboot Vipers now have reaction control jets so between those two the reboot Viper takes the duel between it and an X-wing.
How about a program of how 3D Decals are made in 1/35 and how to make your own 3D decals, what to use,how to use and how to get the media to make your own custom decals.
The viper is also well used! Remember rag-tag fleet.few parts and i believe they built vipers from spares and salvage. x-wings were built by the rebels in groups and parted together. Anyways I would take an X-wing because of firepower, shields hyperactive, astromech droid..
And Enterprise-D and -E would annihilate a star destroyer Darth or not!
The X-Wings were built by Incom, not the rebels. Incom was the same company that built Luke's landspeeder along with other small transport vehicles.
I think the X-Wing wins because the pilot uses the force. If it was just two equal human pilots the Viper would be the better.
Diorama! Diorama!!!!
Is there a specific make up or composition of a product that makes it a suitable primer for styrene?
Not to be glib, but probably. Unfortunately, we're not paint chemists, so we have to rely on what the primer suggests it can be used on. If you're unsure about a particular primer and the label doesn't say it's safe for use on plastic, test it on a scrap piece first. Or purchase primer targeted specifically at the plastic model market.
Viper!
So I wondered best practice to paint metal tracks to weather them
You'll want to prime them first, and then proceed from there with your painting and weathering as normal.
How many sdkfz kits have been released over the years?
Not many in the 250/1 version. Tamiya and dragon both did Rommels Grief the command version the 250/3. The Takom new kit is nice, haven't bought it yet, maybe this coming Christmas.
but which mark of Viper ?
Viper, Viper, Viper!
Porkins was killed in his X Wing but Jolly survived in his Viper. Also the BSG reboot didn't destroy the franchise.
Yeah yeah yeah. Another extremely obscure what ever. Where's the Boeing model 299/X-B17? Not extremely obscure but extremely significant
Just a comment for the algorithm
Hey Tim, give Aaron a break, he grew up upside down here in Australia and his choices are a bit askew.
I try to be understanding. Also, doesn't that mean that you ... . You know what, never mind. 😆 -TK
@@FineScaleModelermagazine That explains why my wife thinks I'm nuts.
Why do you describe the Content in Fine Scale Modeler magazine, as “stories” rather than “articles”. To me using the word stories makes your excellent Content sound less serious and helpful than the word articles. But maybe that’s just me.
We use them interchangeably. We don't believe there is a connotation with story that diminishes the item. Both words signify a piece of writing, in this case, in a magazine.
No matter who wins the dogfight, International Rescue will pick up the loser. FAB!
